I recently saw Amesbury in our league playing for the Vail Yeti’s and fighting number 14 from Breckinridge who I laid out in our first game against them and apologized because I felt bad. It was the first contact game I’ve played in 15 years lol. It was cool to see Amesbury playing in our league.

I really appreciate this particular podcast. It brings up a lot of concerns about the FPHL that I have as a fan. Changing ANY rule at any point during a season is unacceptable. Coaches and teams base almost every decision upon these rules. If we are going to have a Big-Hits-Lots-of-Fights league (which is what I like) ,I need to recruit some brawlers and only a few skater/scorers. The opposite is also true if I am in a very low-physicality league. I would not pay to watch hockey that punishes hitters. That being said, I can clear up some of the mystery as to why Amesbury got suspended. He lands way too many just plain dirty hits and I've seen him attack people from behind. He needed to take some of the edge off. I would not have him not play with intensity, just take a little off.

The Statment " Came after discussions from our Board of Governors " shows you that your team Dansbury DID in fact know about this. The Board of Governors has 1 representative from each team so clearly Dansbury had someone in the discussion room that knew what was going to happen.

Funny you mentioned Bruce Boudreau because he played for and then coached the Komets back in the day. Then his son coached the Komets a few years back

I feel like you should try to get Yianni Liarakos on. I think all the fans really want to know more about his indefinite suspension. This might be the only place where the real story could be told.

The most important aspect of this situation is it appears to be personal , not based on the merit of it. AJ mentioned it early in the pod cast, forget who it involves and look at what they did. Bad for hockey and bad for sports!

I bought tickets to both thunderbirds vs hat tricks games this weekend specifically because Amesbury was supposed to be back. I want a refund. I watch minor league hockey because it isn’t watered down like the nhl. All the leagues are doing their best to water the game down Bettman style. Tragic smdh

Its crazy how soft our society has become. I picked up Ames content from watching Trew Crew, Hockey is the best sport in the world and men in suits are ruining it

I was a season ticket holder in Flint for years, man I miss those days, so many tough guys and good hockey . Long live the Colonial/United Hockey League.

You are right - this isn't a fault of the victim of the injury - Ames addressed that in an earlier episode - that being said , if 'player safety' was top priority in this league, what we found out about the unfortunate victim of the hit, the player should not of even been on the ice .. we respect and appreciate your opinion

They should just call it the Barry Soskins Hockey League. That's the problem.

day of the goon is over and should be over today's players are far too fast and strong to be doing late blind side hospital hits late hits on players not suspecting hits like that the way hockey does this is getting players that do this out of the leagues. BTW players know when they have a players in a vulnerable position IE head turned the other way or along the wall... RIP goons.....

ECHL has a shortage of tough guys this year. Boomhower in Wheeling will be a rival for Ames.

Between Trav Ridgen and a few other vlogs….there is more exposure about the workings of the Fed than ever before…..and it ain’t positive

Indefinitely, does not mean permanently. You could still go back keep that in mind Ames. You’re just not going back this season.

Amesbury has been running around like an idiot for years now, he’s not a skilled hockey player. He’s literally out there to hurt. Amesbury is hitting guys 6 whole seconds late, hitting from behind. He’s ego has gotten to big and he deserves the suspension. He will get exposed big time in the east coast league.

Im calling B.S on 6 seconds late. Watch a hockey game on tv and count out loud 6 secs, a player can get down the entire ice in 6 seconds if skating full speed

Ok I rewatched it… 1.5 seconds after the player shot the puck and about 3 strides by Amesbury leading up to the hit… now I do feel it was a Roughing penalty, because it served no purpose and at the time of impact the puck was already in the net & due to it causing an injury , I’m ok with a 5 min major and a 10 min misconduct , or even a game misconduct, but a 16 or 18 game suspension ? I think that’s extreme, Never mind suspended indefinitely. I do hope that player is ok and feel bad he sustained a seizure.

Hearing the stuff about the Fphl i just cant seem to be a fan of this league anymore i watch alot of games on yt and now i think this league is alot of BS

Episode 13 better be Sergei Nemchinov! it is wild to me that a player gets banned or suspended without any kind of hearing or notice and the player gets informed via press release. That is wholly unprofessional and reflects poorly on the Federal League and opens them up to liability. Hockey is changing and growing. The game is way different than when I was a kid. At the NHL level there is no room for enforcer types anymore for a variety of reasons, some good and some legitimate. But what makes things a problem is that without someone on each team that holds the other side accountable, it is incumbent upon the officials to hammer guys who take cheapshots, head hunting or slewfooting or boarding otherwise games descend into a mess. Then that leads to guys having to fight after a clean hit because that enforcer role is a being phased out of the game. I'd argue that enforcers actually make game safer because you know that if you take liberties, it's not the penalty box you have to worry about. You're going to have to worry about the next shift you and having to answer the bell for trying to injure a player on the other team. All that goes to say is that it makes guys like Amesbury stick out more and actually get victimized by playing their game and filling a much needed role in the game.

Me personally, i cant stomach when a player goes after an opponent after making a clean hit! Contact is part of hockey and always should be. Why fight after a clean hit?, how about return the favor when that opportunity presents itself later in the game.

Honestly it's kind of messed up to suspend him indefinitely for that.

Surely the league can be sued for taking away his livelihood. Banning for 16 games is ok but indefinite ban after them 16 games is kinda like charging someone twice for the same murder...

I love my team and i love the fed but the fed has made some really bad moves this year limiting teams to 19 skaters and 2 goalies is ridiculous banning danny is chicken shit changing rules on the fly when certain coaches are suspended they modify the rules to let them back now another league gets to benefit on Ames putting butts in seats
