What about the polish, symmetry and Fluorescence?

Thanks for asking. These factors are not as important as the things I covered in this video and honestly, the video was getting long so I decided to make separate videos on those topics soon. Please subscribe and click the bell so you get notified when I publish them. For now just know that polish and symmetry makes a slightly bigger difference with rounds than any other fancy shapes. In either case, the average person won't be able to tell the difference between good and excellent. For this reason, it's not necessary to spend extra for Excellent polish and Excellent Symmetry. Just consider it a bonus if the stone you like happens to have those very good or excellent for either of those factors. As far as fluorescence goes, the more fluorescence the diamond has, the cheaper you should be able to buy it for. Fluorescence in and of itself should not make much difference in the appearance of the diamond, except in some cases. If the diamond looks slightly hazy, it's probably the transparency that is causing that. Sometimes in rare instances, the diamond can have an oily sheen in direct sunlight. This is caused by the fluorescence. For this reason, i wouldn't buy a diamond with strong fluorescence online. If you are shopping online, stick to none or faint. You may be able to get away with medium fluorescence if all the other factors are nice. If you have the convenience of buying the diamond in person, I would be comfortable going all the way up to strong fluorescence. I would simply want to compare it side by side with a diamond that I know to have no fluorescence and high transparency. I would also want to see it in sunlight before buying it. Neither of these three factors make much difference in price since they don't make much difference in the diamond. The price may only be $100-$200 between good and excellent in a 1ct diamond. If you simply want the best of the bast and you are looking for an ideal cut GIA 3X diamond, then of course you would want Excellent cut, Excellent Symmetry, Excellent Polish and no fluorescence. I hope this helps for now.

Hi there. I think you’re one of the few if not the only expert who mentioned I graded clarity are used for jewelry. Thank you for mentioning it because I have ring which is I2 clarity but with fire/sparkle. Inclusion does not bother me ❤

Informative. Choppy presentation. Provide outline, follow it throughout briefing, then summarize all key points. A more organized approach results in shorter, more hard-hitting presentation. Thanks for taking the time. I'm a smarter shopper now!

Perhaps all diamonds/gemstones will be graded by A.I. in the future to get that consistency that you mentioned. Are lab created gems "more perfect" than natural gems because all factors like heat and pressure are controlled? Can the average person go to a diamond wholesaler to look at/buy diamonds and pay retail?
