so I've always felt little to no sympathy for the person in this song when Noah sings it (it's an incredible song and makes me feel so much emotion regardless) but with this cover I feel myself wanting to pick up the phone and give you a hug when you're singing it. amazing job, will be on repeat

The thing about this song is I don't think we're supposed to feel bad for him, the song is someone who gets arrested for drunk driving and calls his ex for help. I don't think I can feel bad for someone like that regardless of who sings. But I love this cover, absolutely love her voice 100%

thats an interesting way of thinking about the song. I think the way it's written is like an apology, as I said I feel little to no sympathy for the narrator in the original. my family has a history of alcoholism so it hits very hard for me. I think the purpose of the call is to see this person at their worst, there are lots of different ways to respond to that image this song creates. for me in the original, it's resentment and all that. in this cover, I can hear her desperation and her regret is conveyed a lot more than Noah's version. I think Chloe did an excellent job tapping into that part of the song, but I do think we are supposed to feel sympathy for the character, I just dont usually :)

I only recently started to listen to Noah's music, too, after a teacher of mine put it on in her class. I haven't listened to much of his stuff--the list is currently both versions of this (the OG and the Post Malone remix), both versions of She Calls Me Back (the OG and the Kacey Musgraves version), and Stick Season--and I wholeheartedly agree. Noah is a lyrical genius--the end of the chorus of this song shows that ("Ill dial drunk, I'll die a drunk, I'd die for you)--and the folksy instrumental is just incredible. It's been a while since I listened to a lot of folksy stuff, but Noah's music reminds me why I love it so darn much, and you captured that beautifully Chloe.

You singing this made me have flash backs back to a year ago after I broke up with my ex. Makes me real grateful that I don’t drink all though I really wanted to. I’d of hated for them to win and of seen me that way. All that aside it really was a beautiful cover.

Your voice is phenomenal! Can't stop listening to your covers. Also the slight departure in notes from the original at 3:01 is so satisfying.

There's a really complex alcoholic D&D character I'm planning on playing whose head I've been trying to get into (she's a drunken master who took levels in Warlock to the entropy Old One god Hadar who is literally sucking her life force dry as a metaphor for her alcohol dependence) and Noah Khan version of the song helped me get on track, but this version is the song that has helped me realize that it really is her voice singing the song and I'm about to loop the hell out of this version of thr song as a character anthem while I write to keep my focus and motivations clear. Thank you for helping me find a voice for the voice of the character in my head.

This was excellent. A song that really screams your personality as well as showing the spirit of your love for singing. The beat was amazing, the vocals were on point, and the atmosphere was just gorgeous. I love the almost country style electric guitar and banjo beat and drum beats in the background and it really makes me feel like I’m listening to a feel good song. Plus I just generally love these kinds of songs since they always have this up beat allure and comforting feel to them, so its nice that your showing it some love. This was beautiful as always Chloe.
