hey if it work, it works, that's all that matters, I'm a staunch supporter of of any hammer/zealer build with 1 point into smite, there really is no need for a dedicated smiter, my zealer is a complete beast, only thing I change is laying of hands for dracs and he owns them no problem, this way you have the added benefit of a useful build outside of ubers, nice run bro, pretty smooth 👊💪

Really good video. I'm just making my hammerdin and was thinking if the ubers are possible with 1 skill point wonder build. You delivered the perfect answer. Your weapons are the only gear needing high runes, which i don't have. I'm using spirit instead of heart of the oak. I'm thinking to use Black + ias jewel on helmet + treachery and salvation aura for Mephisto. Do you think it will work? How much attack speed is enough. How you will get your gear back if you die during ubers? If you leave the game you lose the portals, right? Mayby use a friend in the game to keep it alive.

Thanks! I know the Grief is pretty expensive (Lo held up price on quite insane level while even Jah and Ber got cut in 1/3-1/2 of value after 2 first weeks) but it is definitely worth to upgrade to it. CTA is also optional, call them both quality of life but not must haves. Exile is another luxury, but comes at a price of 35 lower light, cold and poison resists, gives instant life tap though. I managed to do some Ubers with Black Flail but make sure to stack up rejuvs. I didn’t use IAS jewel and I think I had the last breakpoint of IAS still - except for Duriel I think (still was pretty easy). Gear - golden rule of D2 was to have enough str / dex to wear gear even AFTER death = otherwisely you could ‘overwrite’ gear partially while picking it up and dying with let’s say - other weapon in hand. I think while experimenting crappy builds I went up to 10 or 12 corpses and didn’t have issue when I rejoined game. No, I think either after 2 minutes or instantly the game is ‘permed’ and you will be able to join it as long as servers don’t crash or 10 minutes pass when it’s empty - up till then you can join/rejoin game and even pick up the corpse with no biggie. Friend is a nice backup, however 2 players significantly boost Bosses health and it takes 20-30% more to kill them (already a long time with just Black).

If you are still reading the comments, I would like to ask a couple of questions. I’ve been using pure Smiter for torch farming in classic d2, and wanna try a Smiter/hammer hybrid in d2r. I got heaven’s light, 4 soc Pala shield with 4 pdiamonds, treachery+lionheart (can also trade out viper), dracs, raven, dungo, dwarf star and rising sun. For fighting Uber Mephisto I got wizzy, TGods and spirit in pala shield. Can also try to farm out hoto instead of wizzy. My plan is to make a full hammer with 1 point into smite, fana and salv, the rest into defiance. Shall it be enough? And how does it work in comparison to pure Smiter?

Very informative, I was wondering whether my spirit in a Zakarum shield was enough. You just clarified that. Got everything else apart from Grief so might try using Black. Would you suggest gorerider or Goblin toes?

Any elite shield is fine really. I like Gore riders more since they also have open wound (applies to smite) and deadly strike (applies to zeal / charge). Also faster run walk is really a nice bonus.

Awesome video! This made me smile. Not going to lie.. I’m kind of sus about how easy this looks compared to a complete smite build 😂 Why’s it look so much easier? Also, I have a Herald of Zakarum shield - would this do? Or is a pally spirit needed I’m guessing for a little more resistance? And is CTA necessary or will it much harder to do without it?

Smiter will do a much quicker job with the same gear. I noticed IAS frames to have higher breakpoints which in human language means you can hit with smite much faster than original diablo, that might be the reason if you compare it with D2R. HoZ is fine but make sure to upgrade it for twice the damage (Zakarum Shield has 42-42 Smite damage or 46-46 opossed to Gilded with half as much). It really doesn't matter if you chose it or Spirit instead.

I use my Hoz doing ubers, I'm a full zealer, one point into smite, no uber kill last longer than about 8-10 seconds, duriel can be a little slower do to Holy freeze but still no problem

Nice fairly budget build (minus maybe Grief/CtA). For your hammer build, you're quite overcapped on the 75% fcr breakpoint and -10% from the 125% one. You can probably drop magi if you don't want the 125 breakpoint unless you really need the res? Since you can already hit 75% with Hoto and Spirit alone. Skullers maybe?

Build got upgraded with progress and it started out with black flail and no cta. Hammer build is not really maxed out, using mostly stuff I found myself. True that skullders would be a nice way to boost mf. Also I have Trang oul gloves in chest for 125fcr but rarely use them.

@@joselase6894 I've had a couple of these since launch, so im good thanks, also I could make enigma if I wanted to but don't really wish to. My blizzard MF soso does just fine - even with no Infinity she's smoking mephisto, council and baalruns on hell. I'll make Enigma or Infinity on first ladder though, most likely within first week.

Would this build work with enigma without cta ? The rest is exactly my hammer Setup other than I use enigma.

Definitely. I'd stil recommend to buff with treachery so you get nice bonuses from Fade at least before Uber Tristram. Stack up more ias and resistance - I think a few more points in fanaticism would help. If you're level 90 or so, 4 fanaticism and 4 holy shield with maxed hammer skills should be doable.

How do you activate the fade buff from treachery??

Fade is triggered when struck / any physical damage, easiest to do is to go to River of Flames and stand in fire, alternatively in Tristram in burning empty builiding, put on Salvation and wait.

Does it require any chahges in current patch 2.4?

None at all. Blizzard tends not to nerf builds everyone loves so Paladin was basically untouched. No new useful reunewords either.
