You could have turned in the sign back to the tavern owner instead; he'd give you a unique cap for your trouble: The Harlequin Crest (-3 AC, -1 dmg taken, +7 max HP/MP, +2 all stats) Shrines with a descriptor (Ornate, Abandoned, etc) all have a predetermined effect, so if you know what effect a descriptor has, it will always do that. Goat Shrines, on the other hand, pick a random effect from every shrine effect available, even the negative ones, so I guess they don't want you to roll the dice poorly. Fast blocking actually doesn't help the Warrior; his natural block speed is already the fastest possible.

I would have done the same thing Naka and Orge did, to be fair. Not that I’d believe a demon would give me a better deal. I’d just be curious as to what he’ll have to say.

If you do snotspill quest again you can turn the sign to odgen to get the Thinking Cap which is a more sorceror themed Hat. It's probably the best hat a sorceror will find for a while before they get a hat that gives like 9 or more to all stats, or like 12 to magic. If ogre finds mana shield he won't need to put anything into any other stat but magic. However, being hit drains mana in that case as well. So you'll not want to take damage. In that case full mana pots become healing pots for high level sorcerors as well. Mana shield can start to drop in Catacombs. It's more likely to drop in the caves. You can also buy spells from Adria, but they get extremely expensive once you get past tier 2 spells.

More I watch this game, the more it makes me think of Azure Dreams, the JRPG on PS1. One hub town, and a dungeon to explore. Except in that game, the tower goes up instead

I think it would have been a bit much if the crown worked with magic. Still. Had to know for sure.

You can also return the tavern sign to Ogden for a unique headgear. You have to kill all the Dark Ones either way.

Yep. That's it That's where I recognize him from.

Level 5 in this game is gonna be a hassle for Naka since that's the area with the black death zombies since (unless the source port changed how it worked) any attacks that land will permanently remove one HP for that player. Have fun!

Goat shrines can be ANY other shrine. So if you save and then hit it...

Multiplayer works like how Diablo 2 works. So you can't save scum the game.

I went looking for the voice actor, and apparently Lani Minella is quite the prolific voice actress, and was even a (background) character in .hack//SIGN!
