    Regarding having no interest in pushing the pit, I’m the same. I’m just farming 100 for mats and don’t give a damn about going further. They should add rewards for each tier first time clear, imagine every tier after 100 you can get like 100m gold, a big material pack, or guaranteed GA Ubers at like 150 and up. They could easily put something together to peak our interest. Some sweet cosmetics to show off would be dope as well, I’d sweat for that.

    An anvil at the end of Infernal Hordes that allows 1 tempering re-roll at difficulty 4 and 2 at difficulty 8 would be fantastic imo.

    That seems a little bit too easy, maybe make it a low drop chance. Keep that in mind that Infernal Hordes are going to be capped at a trivial difficulty level so it's similar to helltides, nmds, low level bosses that you can just oneshot at least it is what they said at the campfire chat. Maximum 180 or 200 mobs, thats pit 80 or pit 100. Which even on a mid tier build you can speedrun right now and we are getting a seasonal mechanic on top of what we have now.

    Maybe a bonus round at the end that's extra hard and you fight all 5 consul bosses at the end - scaled to pit 120 If you win, you can exchange for a golden hammer - restores a tempering chance on gear Costs way more currency than the normal rewards

    I don't know if it's the improved loot, faster leveling, or having a more diverse endgame, but for the first 3 seasons I've never gotten a single character to 100. I'd usually get to the high 80s - low 90s before getting bored and starting a new toon. With season 4 I've not only leveled every class to 100, but leveled a second barb, druid, and sorcerer to 100 just to get the uber unique materials. It's still far from perfect, but it's finally scratching that itch that's made me put thousands of hours into previous Diablo games.

    Man Raxx, I love your idea for a seasonal achievement "skill tree" where the path is determined by these achievements you have to hunt down e.g. hunt down and kill the butcher 10 times.

    Absolutely! - and when they discussed loadouts/armoury, I was thinking that they could even lock loadout slots behind things you had to grind out, to enforce playing the different aspects of the game. - Clearing a pit 100, 150, 200. - defeating Lilith - fully clearing season journey - last level of infernal hordes - spending 50m gold It of course would need to be playtested, but I am thinking it would tempt players to start with a build that could do one or two of the above somewhat easy, and then transition into something else, once you have 2/3 slots. Similar to how you start a PoE league starter before you build what you actually want.

    I'm so very happy that the Alters are gonna reappear after summoning the boss and killing them for Season Five. For Season Four, I never realized how much Material I ended up saving until I started Boss Farming in the Endgame. *_so many loading screens..._*

    1:26:43 I think another major aspect that dissuades people from wanting to change their build as you guys have touched on so many times is the fact that there is no easy/non-tedious way of swapping from one build to another. There are plenty of times when I've found a great item for another build where I think to myself damn maybe I should try swapping over - then I remember having to respec my skills, and paragon board and have to find and put on all the new gear etc etc. and I just lose all motivation to swap.

    QOL for me - deconstructing on the fly - we lose so much gear - deconstruct gear = mats by leaving it behind

    Heres a thought...keep the current skill tree and paragon board for the leveling 1-100. THEN after reaching 100 you unlock a whole new tree and paragon baord FOR END GAME!! imo that could be very cool

    Speaking to loadouts, one thing I'd like to see that would improve on several things at the same time would be a personal "camp" kind of area that is either the default immediate port location or be applied to the wheel. But in this place, you not only have your stash and the wardrobe, but you can craft or buy multiple armor dummies that you can hold one button and transfer all equipped items to, as well as additional separate "stashes" for storing specific items at your discretion. And maybe you also have a guy you can sell/scrap. I do want a loot filter, but the thing that's been more increasingly inconvenient is keeping my stash box organized. I'm storing items with good GAs that I'm either seeing myself use or planing to sell, storing uniques, some with good rolls most with GAs, storing the boss mats, elixirs, I have some early game items I've put together to use for a specific build from 35-60 and 60-80. It's just inconceivable to play more than two classes with all the class specific gear and stuff you feel like you need to keep. Even with just two classes, it's kinda overwhelming keeping track of what the hell is where in the stash box. Stuff starts spilling over into the next page and eventually gets obnoxious. I want like separate boxes for all this stuff. Armor dummies would be great for loadouts just by walking up to it and simply swapping player equipped items with dummy equipped items with one button and manually slotting items. This could be utilized as a whole new progression system by upgrading/crafting or buying these things in your personal room. And beyond that, you could extrapolate further and even have a area that you collectively help build up and acquire certain benefits. Like right now, we're pooling all our boss mats together as a clan by typically saving up for week and trading all to one guy on the weekend, but what if in this clan area there's a box we could store all of these mats collectively and maybe convert them into a single spawn mat instead of carrying 3 of this and 3 of that. On a side note as to items. I'm playing on Xbox, and farming for blood In hell tide is absolutely atrocious, simply because when the boss spills the loot, I always have to pick up all the trash just to get to the blood bottles. I'm so sick of picking up all these yellows and blues in wt4 and having a full inventory after two blood maidens. And with a full inventory... spamming pick up to get to the blood just spreads all the trash loot around, eventually burying the alter prompt. It's so soo dumb, can't just simply delete or scrap items straight form inventory, and even just moving away from spawn and dropping all that trash its holding a button for two seconds on each individual item. The gold for selling or mats for scraping all that trash is not even worth having to teleport every two bosses. I'd rather just delete them, hell I'd pay the sell price just to remove them from inventory without having to teleport every 5 minutes.

    As to what yall talked about in the end ( staying in the game and not having to go off to 3rd party sites) how cool would it be if you could apply a pre build plan that overlays to your class in game. Have a selection of preset builds you can pick from or upload, maybe even just copy from another player. Or just a system where you have to set it up and manually outline if thats easier to develop. But the idea is that, when applied it automatically assigns the pre selected skill and paragon points each lvl, shows you the item you need in an additional window (like the one when you compare items) . And when an item thats in line with your overlay drops, it has its own unique color and sound effect, can independently be checked off once you've gotten the desired item in that slot. So new and existing players can just set up a build overlay if they prefer and almost completely tilt the game to just blasting and keeping up a momentum. For players with limited time, not spending 50% of it, or more, reading through everything and contemplating if its good or not, would be the biggest qol. Furthermore, by a default, this freeing up of some of the tediousnes gives the player an applied boost in time efficiency natively.

    I feel like the future seasons should work on Bosses as end game content, currently I feel the normal bosses level 75-100 are too easy and the tormented bosses level 200 are too hard to even spawn to try, and uber Lilith is too hard as well. Are average players suppose to just make do with NM dungeon bosses? Maybe add more lore to the bosses as well?

    Currently, diablo4 console users cannot select and acquire items. Quick patches should be made so that you can select and learn items with the right joystick.

    They should do more with the paragons board. Imagine a glyph that’s +5 movement speed for every Dex taken and the if 40 dex is met then your dash is now a teleport for all characters. And instead of losing a needed aspect you can take a legendary node and turn in into the sacrilegious ring effects so I can live the season 1 fantasy all over again

    Even the idea about the greater spell effect thing Raxx threw up in the air. If something like those were glyphs, you also had some trade offs on having a glyph with CHD or an improved/changed spell. And it could then change its adjacent nodes to improve the firewall, instead of the generic stats. You would then be incentivised to use more paragon points on that board, instead of just thinning out and having 7 boards always. It could be interesting and change up how to build builds.

    One idea is to have a Season theme that adds a Level 100 Capstone Dungeon/Class Mechanic Quest for every Class, which upon completion unlocks a "Subclass" - which then is what expands the Skill Tree for every class, adding more complexity in actual choices and mechanical/gameplay changes for skills. Do that ~3 Seasons in a row, and now every Class has three Subclasses to choose from at the endgame, to further customize, specialise or fix problems in their builds with. Without adding to and overwhelming new and returning players in their Level 1-100 journey.

    I think the mind cage topic was misunderstood he meant giving the player the ability to pop a mind cage then ramp the monster level to the players choosing could even be a form of progression to unlock higher level mind cages

    After watching Raxx video on speed levelling to 100 I got back to levelling some classes I had left as it was too painful. The biggest issue I have found though is that even levelling glyphs whilst doing it you still have to a lot more NMD to get them all to 21, and then you need to change builds after 100 to be more efficient and that means levelling more glyphs. I am so tired of running NMD. They really need to change how you get glyph XP.

    Infernal Hordes could have a reward option of Glyph XP. If they are going to make it pretty much a one-stop shop they might as well go all-in. It doesn't need to be the best way to get Glyph XP, maybe it's combined with something else but less XP. But it seems like if they want to add another source this is a decent fit.

    They should implant the early idea of condition and effect runes. Sol: while channeling a skill activate the next rune Lo: while active your projectiles are tripled and slow down enemies.

    47:00 Really enjoyed this point about skill-based encounters. I see Destiny 2 raids and peek through the fence towards Lost Ark raids, and I see these complex, layered encounters. It would be so fascinating to see Diablo 4 take a swing at truly nuanced and comms-heavy mechanics in some sort of activity. Of course it runs contrary to the whole "go fast kill shit OMFG loot!!!" pillars of Diablo game design, but never the less it would draw some kind of a crowd? Would at least be nice to see them try it out, but I guess those kinds of experiments are expensive on a project as huge as modern Diablo.

    Underrated change was the trading of legendaries and uniques. A huge part of the fun in ARPG's is getting rich, the real endgame is trading and getting freakin Rich

    If Blizzard really targeting casual players then the only income they will get is from selling the game. If they want to sell cosmetic they have to add proper endgame which brings wider audience so they would play the game and spend on it after the initial buy. Good endgame doesn't mean complicated. It should be balanced so you would have a reason to play and have a character progress.

    Torchlight Infinite does incredible job with adding the new progression system each season - they basically add a new mini passive-tree you have to level up by playing the new league mechanic to get better rewards - in most cases it's simple, but it really works

    You don’t have to create a support character, you could add support gems that effect your party like an extra aspect that only effects party members or support glyphs in paragon tree. (which don’t take up any slot you normally would want there, as these just effects your members and not yourself) Examples, fire shield now when cast adds the same shield on your party members. When you cast shadow step you add a buff to ur party that increase there attack speed by 30% and after 50 total attacks on the target makes the target take an extra 10% more stagger dmg for 10 seconds. You get the idea, so each class your supporting your members while still playing your build as you normally would. This was a quick 5 second idea that just came to me so it’s probably not perfect but can be if designed correctly.

    No disrespect intended, but I cant disagree more with the bricking of items. It is good that if it bricks, its at the beggining not at the end of the journey of the item. At the end it would feel 100 times worse to brick the item.

    A agree with you completely. Every game Arpg has the opportunity to brick your item. It leads to longer game play and farming which is what these games are played for. Everyone wants fully maxed out perfect gear in a few days. Then they will complain there nothing to do.

    I'd rather have a masterworking reset limit than a tempering limit. I have bricked so many 2x and 3x GA items it's just annoying when you find a great item and can just throw it in the trash immediately. If the "bricking" was at the end instead you would at least have a usable item with the right stats along the way. You can go through the whole journey with multiple items in the hopes it turns out perfect and if it doesn't it's still at least usable.

    @@DavosOfHouseSeaworth this is what’s going to happen you brick in beginning ppl will complain you leave it to masterworking to brick an item ppl will Complain. Everyone just wants perfect gear in a day. It’s funny to hear these guys complain about bricking items but when playing Poe and you can brick a whole build no one is comparing everyone just wants it easy. That’s not what game should do. Rax has started to just be this complainer and it’s beyond annoying these days.

    After doing a ton of tempering this season, my biggest issue was always with the 5 state categories or the 4 stat categories that have 1-2 of a passive (so 8 options). I know they all have ranges but skill points tend to have a disproportionate impacts. The 3 stat categories felt like I had a very decent chance to hit what I want but maybe not to the extent I would want. Sometimes they even get solved by MW crits. So yeah if everything was a 3 stat category then you are expecting 9 rolls to hit what you want. A base item has 7 rolls. A 2 GA in season 5 would have 9 rolls (meaning your expected value is that you succeed). I'll also say that bricking a GA Str mace feels like whatever, I find a few every day and I'll find another and try again. But a 2 GA amulet with a passive or 2? You'd be lucky to find one in a season and it sucks to discard it.

    Agree on leaderboards, i stopped pits after pit 100 after getting the achievement. Then i went to play hardcore for the first time in D4 and having way more better experience. I will go back to softcore when leaderboards for Pits are available.

    I still like my solution to Tempering best - just let us pick the stat we want, but make it more expensive, have fewer retries and lower the floor on rolls so it's much harder to get a maxed out roll and that's where you gamble on rerolls - do you keep a decent one, or risk getting a min chasing the max ? It means you can still "soft brick" an item but can't permanently ruin a 3GA with godrolls

    Void Crusades from Inquisitor Martyr were a really cool mapping-like endgame system but that game hasn't taken off so I don't think many people know about it. Also the Tower from Chaosbane was akin to the new Diablo 4 Season 5 thing but it was done a bit different that was also neat.

    about the companion... i heard them say at some point that there adding a co-op endgame feature in the expansion.. would be sweet if you can play it with a friend or level up the companion enough to take there place. that way solo players have fun and everyone else can run it with a mate....

    Also I loved how in D2 you could make a character that was excellent at doing Chaos runs. You could also make a different character that was really good at speedfarming Pindle. And you could make another character that was your uber killer. Right now every character I play and any good build I pick in Diablo 4 can do everything. If World Bosses were even stronger, and gave even better materials, and spawned even more often, then I would want to build a World Boss killer character to log into to slam the world boss and get all the loot from that. But a character that excels at clearing mobs usually sucks at bossing. Then if I needed more temper materials I could make a faster more aoe centric character to blow throw pit 79s or something.

    Spit-balling here but what about adding an "augment" system for the skill tree. Something where you get "slots/sockets" for a skill up to some maximum number (maybe a greater augment and a minor augment). The greater augment could make some fundamental change to how the skill works and then the minor augment could be a way of changing the flavour of the major augment. E.g.: Major augment: Ball lightning is now thrown in an arc. When it lands it explodes dealing lightning damage. Or, ball lightning now explodes at the end of its duration. Minor augment: Ball lightning explosion leaves behind a poison pool which lasts x seconds and deals x damage per second. Or, when a ball lightning expires, every ball lightning still active is consumed and increases the damage of the explosion by x%. This is sort of a pseudo-unique so I guess it conflicts with the ideas they have about designing uniques (and the reason they exist) so not entirely sure how viable this would be.

    @@benjaminghazi787 Listened to a bit more and it turns out yea, what I said is just a different flavour of the same thing they said. I kind of went off of LE's system though I guess the minor augment thing is a bit like POE's skill gem setup. Either way, don't think what I said is all that viable anyway. It sort of detracts from what a unique item should be so unless they ditch uniques and move that over to a skill augment system it won't work. It would also mean a pretty big rebalance as you'd essentially have one or more uniques on you in addition to all the legendary aspects you would otherwise have.

    Season 4 was great, but as a mid of the road player it was the fastest I've put down a season since launch. Farmed Bloodtides, hit 100 in a couple of days, farmed some Ubers, played around with the crafting, and was done. And unlike previous seasons, I have no intention of jumping back in til next season. By all accounts, this is not what I wanted or expected to happen.

    An idea to skill tree: When you use a hard skill point in an ability, you get a point to spend behind that skill (like the two options you already have).. then make 10 options behind it, though you can only get 5 of the passives for one skill.. That could also solve the problem of only one pointing blizzard or ww, since it's the ice spikes or dust devils dealing the dmg, but if there was like a 15% ice spike radius but you have to spend 3 or 4 points in blizzard to get it, then you would have to make the choice of whether or not 15% spike radius is worth the extra points in the skill.. That would be an easy and interesting fix to the current bland skill tree..

    It would be really cool if their was a chase mechanic around upgraded gems in the Pit. Like if you get to lets say pit 100 and every 3 after, you get a super gem that's double the strength of the royal(?) Gem and/or have all effects active on gear. So with your red gems on your helmet you get overpower and fire resist. Then optimized builds that are meant for pushing get rewarded with really strong gems.

    Agree with Raxx on skills , I think ice spikes should be part of the blizzard skill tree instead of taking up aspects for stuff that we dont even use just to get glacial or more explosion radius.

    A great endgame system would be to create new items called cursed items. They only drop in hell and have insane legendary powers like having a fiery meteor storm every 30 seconds or being invisible when at 10% health that only casts once every 60 seconds etc. Having multiple cursed items can create sets of armor the have even crazier powers. The other option would be to go and purify these cursed items to get a progression towards a new type of paragon board, but you lose the cursed power and instead gain holy damage or something

    Most CC’s I listened too did comment how they thought necropolis was underwhelming. I think the difference is PoE has a lot of good graces with people for all the good the game has done over the years so they’re less critical. Where as D4 with all its resources and franchise history it somehow keeps falling on its face. We all want Diablo to be the best game it can be because we grew up with the franchise so we’re more critical of it when it goes bad.

    The PVP modes in Lost Ark are also excellent the team death match arenas also they solved the over power problem by not allowing your gear level being applied to your damage. So everyone had the same damage level no matter what there character level made the fights interesting. I think it was just the skills on your bar and very little of your gear that applied to your character in PVP.

    For a rogue-like mode they need to make it random and get truly crazy with buff/detrimental effects that mix and match class skills etc and make it endless but increase in difficulty each wave. Example; Say I'm a Rogue and I get past say ten waves, I get to choose 1 from 3 buffs but each buff also has an detriment. I pick a chain lightning buff that makes your core skill proc chain lightning on lucky hit (even as a rogue) but cooldowns are increased or something. Just one example. I don't know how itd work and its probably really hard to pull off but mix and matching skills and stat detriments randomly and across classes would be really fun and make it feel like a proper rogue-like gamemode.

    Yes, a rogue like mode is what I want too. Moreso than the one were getting in season 5. I want a mode where you start off with no skills or gear, and you have a high chance of failing. Would keep it fresh and interesting.

    The Blighted nerf hurts bad. The say that the aspect was responsable for the overperformance of shadow builds, but then also fixed the real cause, which was double diping. And I see a lot of similar contradictory decisions and changes with every class balance changes.

    Maybe on higher pits 100-110+ u get new mats for tempers (tempering uniques, choosing a specific temper) and/or extra mats like angels breath for example

    For the load out issue, as a fairly on the fence to not liking the idea of load outs. 1) it makes it feel like your choices mean nothing and you aren't sacrificing one thing for another. ( this is what made it really hard for me to enjoy D3 when it came out because runes swaping and builds meant nothing 2) What will happen is all the min maxing will kill every type of content. So either, I will hear forever on is how easy the game is for min maxers and the games difficulty will either go up to match them, making the only way I can play at all is playing a min / max build or it wont and people will keep crying about it. 3) These things may not seem like a big deal, but if you play a single character a season. I do not want to have to play a build guide just to play most of the content, (I am fine with some content not being accessible unless i fix m build) 4) They just fixed pack rat issues for Stash space, and now you want more load outs, which require more items stored. that being said, I will accept load outs, I just aren't fond of them

    I am ok with something like “your gear won’t save you if you don’t learn mechanics” but only if 1) mechanics are not as dumb as Lilith mechanics 2) those stuff is not tied to the last chapter of the season journey. This season we have to kill at least one of Tormented Duriel/Andariel/Lilith and there’s no “escaping” one of those 3 achievements. This is really tough for the vast majority of players, even Duriel which is the easiest of the 3. I mean after one year I still haven’t beaten Echo of Lilith ONCE and I can beat the whole dark souls 1-2-3 naked with a pen as a weapon.

    GR pushing as a group in D3 before the 150 time attack era was some of the best experience you could have in ARPG history PERIOD. Tryhards and min-maxers need something of this sort in D4, Blizzard devs are not competent enough to reinvent the wheel, just take whats great about D3 and expand on it, simple as that.

    At the very least, as far as trading goes, give us in game mailing of items with COD cost to open and a 48 hr mail return for unopened mail. This was in wow at least 15 years ago if not longer. I'm happy to continue using Crimson Market, so long as I don't have to happen to be online at the same time as someone in a completely different time zone to hand the items off to the buyer.

    1:22:37 this would be so much more rewarding and easier for the causal players to understand than the illusion of choice with the paragon board. Leveling after lvl 50 for each quarter we would have a freedom to spend the stats by our on the character screen the same way as we did in D2. Skill glyphs with modifier for president! Farmin NMD would make more sense too.

    Nail on the head with afk content. I hate that stuff. Helltide becomes sucha snoozefest let us stack the profaned mindcages to get the monster level we want to be challenged by. Increase the world boss hp per day as people get stronger throughout the season. Also hate how in d3/d4 the most efficient content to do is content that you blow through with no difficulty and get NO reward for doing harder content sooooo annoying for people that hate the 'speed farming' meta that seems to be common in the new arpgs.

    I think and it’s complicated on the topic of reusing previous seasons content maybe you should be allowed to create a character that reuses a previous season mechanic. The balancing would be tough but you create say a vampiric sorc or a malignant barb which allows the character to access some of the mechanics that were used in that season. A construct Druid would have the construct following them and can be levelled up. It’s a way of avoiding the legendary bloat of season mechanics but reuses the good work done in a season and might create an interesting build diversity in the game.

    I wonder if their mindset is: get a lot of activities into the game. Once there is a lot, revamp/update/tweak them for a “final form”. That’d make sense. See how things work and are liked/disliked, then revisit.

    What is sad and frustrating is that every season seems to have that one shining build to play for every class, where subsequent changes render previous fun builds unfavourable. Everybody says, play what is fun for you but it is NOT fun to play a weak no damage build that cant get you anywhere in the endgame. Some builds also require so much investment and min maxing that realistically, unless you play D4 for a living, you are likely limited to 1-2 builds a class every season. Console players have a whole other set of problems to contend with as aiming accurately is close to impossible. For example, my DS Leap DD barb jumps to the right spot maybe 1 out of 10 times, which is super frustrating in the higher pit tiers. HOTA is fa more reliable on console, but it got gutted and does mid damage. It has come to the point where I just wish they all just sit down and try and meaningfully balance what is presently in the game before the expansion. Lol, I pity the Necros as I foresee the Golem auto leap will have terrible jump targeting as well.
