    @@Valuedx it's a unique item so I anticipate they won't change that the elite drop but could possibly change the drop rate or elite spawn rate or fix the item level. I also wonder if like D3 they may change it so you can't equip two unique items. IIRC from the beta legendary items can't be dual equipped but rare uniques can.

    I think the movement speed is a way better choice for dark shroud early game. The extra crit may shave some seconds off bosses and elites but i felt way better having permanent speed out of combat between packs etc.

    I agree with you, especially while running WT1. The mobs die so quickly that the extra crit doesn't make that much of a difference. I wanted to make sure in this video I didn't throw out TOO many scenarios to confuse people, but I do think that the MS route for DS makes total sense especially on WT1 as I stated before :)

    I think you can go to Act 1, 2, and 3 - as they give you the breadcrumb main quests for those areas. But, I personally plan to follow the natural progression for my first character, and then come up with my own 'best strategy' for leveling alts with this in mind. You absolutely could go in that order though.

    going into the game my goal is to beat the capstone dungeon someday so this build wouldnt work for me but anyone going for the story this build could be great for them do recomend. One thing that twisting blades need to work properly is positioning. It does not rely on any items, only on your skills (game understanding) to get the most dmg out of it.

    Any suggestions on it? If rogue is a good choice to pair with a barbarian?

  • @Valuedx

    @Valuedx

    Жыл бұрын

    Generally, I would personally say Barbarian best pairs with Sorc or Necro because it's such a 'in your face' class. I'm personally going to be leveling with a Sorc, because I'll be getting attention of enemies, and my sorc can more or less free cast while I distract and deal damage. But, if you have good synergy as a duo - you can level with any 2 classes :)

  • @Valuedx

    For which build were you talking about? I ran puncture with build 2. The reason I took IS for Build 1 is because you'll consistently be below 50% energy with flurry, and using IS to build energy will apply vulnerable and synergize with your flurry well.

    Just as a note, the 2nd dash node gives crit damage, not crit chance. My long term plan for my off season/"base" account Rogue is to go w/ Barrage as the primary skill, but will definitely be considering flurry to level a bit before I can more of the gear online due to the aspect being so easy to get. Hadn't thought of that - thanks!

    *facepalm* you're right, I made an error in the voice over. I played with PS myself and it felt really good. The only thing I didn't like about barrage was the lacking boss damage. But that may be fixed at higher levels (?) and would make the build much better. That's my favorite thing about Rogue though, is that we'll have viable melee and ranged options for various content.

    @@Valuedx Yeah I'm hoping that barrage works out okay at higher levels - I know shadow imbue/rapid fire seems to be the choice but I hate the rapid fire cast time/targeting. why would you play an ability that makes you stand still to clear packs? Twisting blades is far superior for leveling regardless of its aspect/codex power not being available until act 2. especially on WT1, on WT2 i can clear the entire campaign in like an hour 40 even in the most recent beta and before level 15, this build is going to be slow and I feel like your baiting your viewers.

  • @Valuedx

    @Valuedx

    Жыл бұрын

    I also mentioned this in the video :) The flurry build is a bit stronger at earlier levels, from my testing (I tried both very early on in the slam) And I strictly advised to switch to TB at early 20s. The end of the day is you can honestly run whatever build you want for WT1, these builds are my theory crafted best builds for Rogue on launch - and everything is subject to change as well, so having some variety for builds isn't a bad thing. Blizzard will likely be adjusting the strength of things from what we remember in the slam too, so I'm trying to be open minded.

    @@Valuedx I played every beta and I guess if you are wanting to play safe it is a decent build. But with TB scaling and the fact you never ever ever stop moving forward, TB even without powers will significantly outweigh this build. I can run from start to end of campaign be level 14/15 farm a few side quests hit renown one and move straight into the next zone to grab the TB power before you would have finished the campaign. That is the speed difference in the two builds for every pack you stop to pop, TB with dash, shadow strike, etc will kill 2-3 packs and be 2-3 screens ahead. Not saying its not a viable build but this is most certainly not the strongest. I feel your theory crafting is not as strong as it could be but I have to say you make good content, good quality and I cannot wait to see what you bring out once your sunk into end game 😀.

    Because you are playing on WT1 you are putting too much emphasis on your early game build. Why bother going flurry and switching to twisted blades? I mean are you saving hours by doing this? No. How many minutes are you saving? It's pointless in my opinion. The game isn't hard up to the 25 cap we played in beta. I understand that selection of WT is a preference thing. If you are challenged for time it might make sense (eg you get to play 5 hours a week I get it). You know damn well if you are watching build videos a week b4 release this isn't a thing. I'm not dumping on you for your video and my text may convey I am a contrarian. That's not my intent. I will say I plan on going smoke bomb for the daze on packs. I am 48 years old and by selecting that one I believe I will have the muscle memory down so when I hit WT3 I will have a great tool to solo dangerous packs of mobs (my conjecture may be wrong and the shroud skill might be the better choice). I am also taking the shadow clone ultimate. I'm very excited for release. It's going to be alot of fun. My last thought is to look at the paragon before launch, but don't stress it. Those fully buffed end game builds are silly. Enjoy the journey and Everybody will respec their paragon!

    I really appreciate your opinion, and I agree with alot of what you were saying. I do agree with you WT1 is a joke no matter what build you go, you could literally just spec your points into any skills and clear WT1. But the information was meant to be shared as a general early game build, and some people (even who watched this video) will not go WT1 because as the video I shared highlighted WT2 really is a noob trap, and naturally people will select it for the benefits it lists. I don't think your comment was negative by any means, and I appreciate the insight. A lot of things I'm sharing here are my early thoughts, I've spent a fair bit of time theory crafting around early game and the things I learned from server slam, and wanted to share those thoughts in an organized manner. In relation to your third paragraph, I agree that shadow clone (as mentioned in both of my builds) is the strongest possible option, and upon testing I will likely ultimately end up pivoting to it when I get into the paragon board.

    @@nickbrown9163 I'm planning a hybrid rogue and have similar concerns as you and am planning to go with smoke grenade too. In fact, I'm even thinking of going with cold imbue (although not a main one and might switch back and forth depending on dungeon/area--cold damage very low) because I'm not sure rogue could survive late game, especially if monsters charge at you or get close to you (this wasn't too bad in Diablo3 but was really an issue in Diablo2 late game.) Rogue's damage mitigation looks very weak. Probably going to come down to dodge chance based off dexterity.
