The part about the occultist being unlocked before lvl 25 is untrue. I made a new barbarian and finished more than 1 dungeon with an affix, but still had to wait until level 25 to use it.

It would be helpful to work into build guides where you look at stat priority. Having the "forced" stats asterisked would help guide you on scanning items to keep or sell. This system is really counter-intuitive and can lead you into bad decisions in crafting. Often instead of looking for the guide's #1 stat priority, you should be looking for the ones further down the list but are deprioritized on the stat reroll as a starting point.

Re-rolling is what’s most in need of a re-work, at a minimum we need to see the possible rolls and be confident that they all have the same chance

the problem is that rerolling is the only gold sink in the game right now and if we see the the chances of our action - we won't reroll unless it's very high chance for success. And so people will not spend their gold mostly. So because we already have the database from the internet, Blizzard has failed with that system and they really should invent a new one or two and, for sure, make it better.

Agree 100%. After a couple of rolls, I trash the item. It is a poorly designed system if this was the intention. There should be a rare crafting material that allows us to weight an enchantment in favor of a certain stat.

The one redeeming aspect is that you don't hold onto all items with future potential. Being able to trash the items without regret is good for logistics reasons.

They didn't play endgame.

As of now, crafting prices in Diablo IV are outrageous. The only thing they do for me is to demoralize me and make me not want to play. I couldn't collect "perfect" gear for my favourite character in Diablo III in 11 years. I sure as hell am not going to waste another 11 years in Diablo IV. Artificial prolonging of play times by making certain things hard to achieve is inevitable but it has to be done with measure. I want closure. I want to see a character completed in terms of items in no more than an year, instead of never.

The expense of rerolling and respeccing is my main gripe with the game. I'm someone who likes to experiment with builds and the insane gold costs to set up a new gear set and build is such a barrier.

It keeps the actually good natural rolls valuable. IMO it's a good thing, especially since gold needs a good use anyway (which in D3, for example, there wasn't really one).

the reason it scales so high is to make gold an actual resource,they would need to add more resources which you can use for things you already use gold if they were to reduce the costs. arpgs are about resource management so these are the two choices,one resource which scales super high or many different resources for different things. respeccing gold cost is really not high tho, its few million gold if you do complete respecc, it does have some other major problems like you need to respecc each paragon one by one or you need to respecc 10 points ahead if you want to respecc something behind.

these people saying "yeah its fine" either didn't watch the video or are fully willing to no-life this game. 50 million gold for a roll on a chest piece is insane. the priority stats on chests alone are completely borked - there's not a single build I can think of that uses cc reduction, and almost no builds that use thorns chests.

Wow the amount of work put into this is amazing!

As a veteran POE player and regular user of craft of exile for years I can only recommend using his site. Well researched and maintained. Once there is a patch, it gets updated asap. And to be honest: POE is like ^10 as complex as d4 and he manages to implement the tools for this game.

The ALT rolling gear is an amazing tip! Thank you for these very informative videos!

This game really captures the gambling experience for me. Grinding for hours in Nm dungeon just to spend all of it rerolling for trash affix like elemental resistance over and over again.

Yeah... I've got this GG ring a couple of days ago, with crit chance, life and vulnerable dmg, tried to roll crit damage. I can play only a couple of hours a day so I don't really have insane amount of gold at my disposal and now the single reroll cost is almost 3 mil. So basically I have to run 3 NM dungeons just so I can reroll a stat on the ring ONCE. How fucking stupid is that?

I've spent millions and millions in gold trying to min max and roll bis Stats on items which apparently were missing those guarantee affix, to point where I would just give up because the gold cost would get ridiculous.

Actually its sad that a payed Dev team is not able to deliver a legit 1.0 game. This game wouldnt be anything without the fans. Imagine an Artist dropping his Album and we have to master the records, because its sound like it was recorded with a gamer headset. kekw

I've played Lost Ark for a bit in the past and the whole idea of upgrading your gear through RNG is still bizzare to me. It felt weird not having any real loot drop during raids, only gear crafting materials and accessories.

The chance of getting an items with 3/4 good stats was already very low, but when I found one I held on to a little bit of hope that I could reroll it to something decent. With this knowledge, I'm probably even less excited for items with 3/4 good stats because I now know how much it's going to cost to reroll and I probably don't have the money for it. So I just have to wait for a 4/4 item to drop then? Sounds like fun!

It means you have to find an item with 3/4 good stats and the priority stat missing. I'd prefer this system not existing and blizz just removing a lot of the trash stats especially on amulets though. It's also weird that this system is not explained anywhere by blizzard i wasted a lot of gold trying to roll specific stats not knowing a bunch of trash stats were listed as priority stats especially on pants and chests...

@@liangdar9675 yeah its not even complex its just dumb. All you need to do is : yellow with 3 good rolls + 3 rerolls if fail waiting for next drop. This game is really aimed at brainless gaming. Yall should research how mobile game industry works and milking diablo 4 is just that

i wonder at which point in the game you are if you think you wont have the money for it...selling 1 inventory full of stuff is 500k - 750k and your inventory is full constantly... also when you are at the point that you start to actively roll for BiS the drops that are even worth trying to roll are so rare that you make tons of money until even 1 item worth re-rolling drops not to mention that you always should set a budget when it comes to re-rolling. so once re-rolling gets to expensive simply look for another good item to try your luck, or, if the item is so god-like, simply try re-rolling it once or twice a day.. but to be honest at some point there will come the time where you simply have to accept that the item you rolled is bricked and not worth rolling anymore

It's a gaming company probably in the top 3 all time gross income and more importantly with probably the most hours put into playing their games. They want all your money and time.

Although i've played D3/D2R so many hours but still, this is not how i want from Blizzard Thx for your passion on Diablo series, at some point, i think it's time for us figure out what's the different between "stay positive" and "sugar coating"

I really do respect streamers like wudijo, raxx, rob etc. But let's face it, doesn't D4 looks like beta version to us ? I've been Blizzard fan since Starcraft era, they were great back that time, with those "epic" moments doesn't mean you can do whatever you want, completely ignore how players want or how ppl expecting

@@Arthur.S.H how about you just play the game in a way that is fun for you? you don't need to grind for "best in slot" gear if you don't like grinding for "best in slot" gear.. BiS is not needed to reach level 100, best in slot is not needed to beat tier 50 NM dungeons, BiS is not needed for any kind of content in the shared world of the game (helltide,bosses,events) BiS is for people who want to grind and want to push NM dungeons as far as possible, but not out of necessity but out of ego and because thats the way they enjoy playing.... i think it is funny to act as if the game is forcing you to grind the best gear ever even if the grind is not fun for you, while in reality the game does not

I agree with OP. The time sink in this game is not very rewarding, no matter what activity you are doing. Whether you are grinding for gear, levels, NMD, renown; it’s all pretty boring. There are no power spikes, and very little variation in mobs.

Besides, i've done tons of helltide/world boos/legion/NM dungeons, lvling 3 different characters to lv100, kill uber lilith on rogue/necro/wiz. It was all those time spend make me feel how hollow the grind turns out. I don't even want to compare with POE or other ARPG, i've got more fun from D3 last season, how sad is that

Maybe add a 3rd roll choice to the Occultist so you have 3 choices instead of 2, make the 3rd slot unable to roll the weighted stats

I actually know the guy IRL so i can confirm he is very much human but I will say this : Do not play Terraforming Mars with him, its an absolute waste of time every single time, you will loose so hard, you'll come to hate eurogames altogether.

All the low rolls and misses really do make it insanely exciting when you actually do get something great. I still remember the feeling of finding nearly perfect gloves and rings, and hitting a high roll on the 4th stat and having sometbing truly Best in Slot. Or finding a 798 ip tempest roar with perfect crit damage and 25% on the lucky. Easy to say i got lucky, but I really leveraged my early strength and leveled in nightmare dungeons 7-10 levels higher for more Glyph XP and better gear, that was crucial in gearing up

This make so much sense now i hit max crit chance on ring after 2 rolls Initial ring was 749 power with max roll crit damage, near perfect vuln (33 out of 35.3), and got a decent resource gen roll (14.6 out of 18.5) - these a 5 upgraded values

I farm The Gambler in the game if I want some equipment, I bought 15 pairs of gloves and then I got the ones that I wanted, then I went to occultist to re role. i got 2 really nice gloves one for mobs with cc and one for world bosses and pvp ect.. with 10+% crit chance

It would be extremely helpful to have the "guaranteed" affixes labeled as such in the Maxroll stat priority section of the build guides. This info is so useful!

this won't change much to be honest, because if you continue to reroll, you will continue to get rolls of that priority stat, with 1 other option.

I thought this too at first but I think it’s actually wrong. The stat you are rolling off doesn’t have any impact on what can show up, because you can still get that stat again in the options (which makes sense, you should be able to roll a higher version of the same affix). Only the other stats on the item that are permanent affect what can show up since you can’t have an item with the same affix twice. I think if you play with the website you will see that the affix you’re rolling off doesn’t matter at all.

i knew it felt like some stats are more common than others and its nice to see which classes have the best odds to roll the last stat but is there any information on how items get class locked?

I don't know for sure but I rolled a lvl 100 sword on a lvl 22 barb to try and get Vulnerable damage. I realised you just don't change the affix if it's not what you want, and then there's no risk.

Super valuable research tips. Awesome. Though I still feel that Blizzard should lower the gold and material cost for enchanting. We don't play to work, we play to play.

About post season: Does the seasonal character become a regular character at the end of season? Will the seasonal character have access to the main characters paragon points or just the points from renown?

I had suspected something like this was at play with certain item slots and certain affixes. I understand having a priority system in place, but it feels so bad with only having 2 options to choose from knowing that one of them is always possibly going to be a stat you do not care about at all. It also seems like the priority stat CAN roll itself twice for some reason which is odd? For example, I have rolled a weapon and gotten main stat twice. I believe the first instance of main stat was the priority roll and the second instance of main stat was just it randomly choosing between any stat and just accidentally getting main stat again. The way that the post has things worded, it makes it sound like you can never get two priority stats that take up both of the enchantment spaces at the same time. I don't know if this is 100% accurate. It seems more like one of the two reroll choices is the "priority" slot where it will always choose a priority stat if possible and then select another stat if not possible. The second slot seems to be able to roll anything possible including another priority stat. It's just that this slot is not given any weight towards the priority stat specifically like the other one is.

I've been pulling my hair out on amulets. This should help me to prioritize amulets that are missing just the priority stats, rather than wasting my time trying to roll a damage reduction, or +2 def skills.

I was trying to replace Crit chance on a ring and it kept rolling crit chance but it got better and better. Was hoping to get more mana.

I tried it and unfortunately it said 2 rolls but after 10+ i still couldn't get dex on my rouge gloves. hopefully others have better luck edit- i reversed the stats when i those them so gave me the wrong info. ig you mark want you have as red and what you want as blue it works great... apologies

If you only have one priority stat missing, could you first select a priority stat when rerolling and then you'll get two non-priority on every subsequent reroll?
