DeathSpeaker’s is currently being used by LastRights, another creator, on his HC necro. Haven’t checked in for a while but he was one-shoting T70+ bosses. The reason the unique doesn’t stack the skill is because you don’t stack it by hitting enemies with your surge, you stack it by hitting them with the heal or “draw” at the beginning of the animation. The mini nova your minions get gains a bonus based in the amount you draw from enemies but they don’t actually do any of the drawing themselves and therefore can’t stack the skill. So it isn’t broken, it’s just kind of poorly designed. Granted, Blood surge isn’t intended to be used at range but it also isn’t strong enough to be used in close range. I dropped it because I don’t like the way the build functions. You can do ridiculous burst damage with it if you also have mendeln, as last rights has proven, but it requires some set up and is dependent on minion placement.

@RageGamingVideos you forgot the Razor Plate which gives you 11K spines . With Iron Maiden and/or bone golem it’s really powerful : mobs get one shot

Howl from below sucks. Doesn't sclerosis with minion damage. Doesn't proc lucky hit reliably.

Friendly reminder that currently the Bone Prison segments all count as minions. Meaning you can tendrils, bone prison then proc the necklace bloodsurge mini explosions on all bone prison walls and essentially nuke whatever is inside the prison

If anyone is having trouble finding Black River, I finally found one. I was farming obols at the event just south of the top Lilith statue on the coast of Hawezar. It is a drowned event so there is an increased drop rate on scythes. Do the event portal out/in or relog until the event resets, sell/salvage did when needed, burn your obols when full for gear/aspects. I don't know how much it increases your odds but I finally got it after waiting for the drop from about 60 til 85. Sadly I decided not to use it for my current build and I don't want to switch my build until I see patch notes, lol.

If only we were able to target farm for uniques smh... I need black river and I need the ring badly for my minion build... I have everything else and bone spear is so boring.

Black River has one major weakness especially for builds like the infinimist. It's about the Cooldown Reduction that gets crippled. Without Black River your corpse explosion counts as one attack for every corpse you start an explosion and that hits an enemy. This means that for every enemy that is cursed with decrepy with the lucky hit chance to reduce cooldown and that gets hit with a corpse explosion it has the chance to reduce your cooldown. For every single corpse! And this is where the cycle starts: It leads you to use skills that have cooldown much more often. This cooldowns skills give you the opportunity the create much more corpses. More corpses, more cooldown and so on.... Black River often breaks the cycle by using up to 5 corpses for only one attack. So the cooldown reduction from decrepify only activates once. This leads to fewer uses of skills that have cooldown. This leads to fewer corpses and so on....´ And if you are using the aspect that makes your Bonestorm last longer and is using 8 corpses to do so, than you are very fast in a situation where you nearly can't do anything because you totally run out of corpses! This is especially a problem when you fight against few very strong enemys like elites or bosses. Most people have an easy time against big mob groups. The more enemys, the easier it gets. But most people struggle against single elite groups or bosses. Black river is enhancing all of this. It makes big groups even easier and elites/bosses even more difficult. This leads me to the conclusion: Black river is not for me!

same here, I now use wands with lucky hit chance. It can proc cooldown reduction more often and create corpse with hew flesh more often too!

the Infinimist darkness build needs the Cool Down Reduction that Abhorrent Decrepify gives. Black River, sadly, is horrible at this. Is it a bad weapon? No, it's certainly still usable but if you switch to a high damage wand with 1. Vulnerable Damage 2. Damage to affected by shadow damage over time 3. Shadow Damage 4. critical strike damage 5. intelligence 6. damage to crowd controlled enemies 7. damage to slowed enemies 8. all stats your overall corpse generation and damage should feel much easier than with black river, even if black river can destroy some groups insanely fast. If you fight bosses or very strong elites with almost no other mobs spawning than it might be beneficial to switch over to a 2h'ed sword (same stat priority).

​@@TheKarmakThis is exactly what happened to me with my shadow minion build. Even when it is going off it still just doesn't feel good. I want to spam CE, personally. Also I want more procs for lucky hit instead of one powerful CE. Wand seems like the best for any build using lucky hit.

9:03 correct me if I am wrong. But black river uses 5 corpses but produces on explosion with 130% damage per additional corpse corpse meaning 5 corpse explosion is x220% damage. You can trigger Corpse explosion as fast as you can click the mouse. I would rather have x5 small corpse explosions with x5 lucky hit and x5 crit chances, x5 damage, than one corpse explosion with x2.2 damage.(though the increase radius is very nice.)

From what Ive seen with the blood cuirass and it by no means is super powerful but it is useable more so if you spec into bonespirit and the blood wave. The blood wave combined with the aspect of tides gives you at least 5 blood orbs guaranteed.

The lame thing about Black River is how it doesn't actually increase the radius for Blighted Corpse Explosion. Hopefully this gets fixed soon.

I have to say it's real disappointment was it consumes 5 corpses for a tiny damage bump that isn't worth the loss of 4 more pools ticking away damage.

That’s why I don’t use blighted. I use the glove and this weapon and everything around is getting killed. I don’t like blighted because the dmg per sec are slow.

I have just dropped a Deathless Visage and a Bloodless Scream on the same World Boss. Which would be best to use? Is there a way to build to use both?

I would be absolutely shocked to see Black River get a nerf with how much faster Bone Spear kills. And I think the only reason bone spear hasn't been significantly nerfed yet is because the class as a whole is too slow so we should at least get fast kill speed! 😂

Main reason it wasnt nerfed yet is that theres no mechanical issues with how it works, its just overtuned due to how much crit damage you can stack. Probably going to be nerfed by a good 30+% before the seasons.

Adding about 15-25% movement speed across your armor pieces will definitely make necro up to speed. Also using one handed and not 2 handed is way better, had to learn the hard way.

Agree, I hate having to get a movement speed roll on my boots or amulet.

I've been running a bone spear build with deathless Visage and black river. My offhand has skill cooldown. When you pair these all together with a corpse explosion aspect, you missed one of the best things you can take your points out of corpse explosion and put it into essence from corpses. Therefore when you hit corpse explosion you get 4x the amount of essence regen effectively staying at 100% essence no matter what, which greatly increases your bone spear base dmg which in turn also increases all other aspects, since the higher your base dmg is the higher your dps and higher crit without needing the crit modifier from 2 handed sword. Has been a pretty fair trade off so far and have really enjoyed the build this way. Not to mention the dps boost from corpse explosion.

I have always wondered, for Black River, what happens if you do not have at least 5 corpse? Does CE still work (i.e popping just the 1-2 corpse available) or do you have to wait for at least 5 corpse before you can trigger CE?

Very nice video thank you. Considering the amount of individual damages displayed on screen, I struggle to see if the targeting effects from the gloves does combine with the one handed scythe. Can anyone confirm?

This video was VERY helpful to me. I had been trying to understand why my Bone Spear build was not working nearly as strong as I had hoped. Now to actually getting the Uniques . . .

I've gotten multiples of the other necro uniques but no bloody gloves the only thing I want...

I got every unique for necro multiple times except the one i want, ring of mendeln. it's really frustrating and i'm level 92 now. I want to get it before moving to a new class starting with the next season.

What gem should i put in the weapon for bone necro ?

I had the same issues with deathspeaker. Plus, amulets are the best place for the +sacrifice aspect AND you lose the damage buffs from the Momento Mori passive. Just too much reduction in overpower damage.

What's so special about Deathless Visage, honestly? everyone says it's a must have for Bone Spear builds, and I don't have one yet, but looking at it, the effect seems so...lackluster. the extra damage seems so low, you could do much more damage with a better rolled helm with an offensive aspect. am I missing something about this helm?

I think its the physical + bone spear damage, the echos also deal more damage than what the perk says, although most people at endgame don’t call it a “must-have”, just a really good option:)

It can roll +Essence which makes it great with Ossified Essence key passive and/or the aspect that boosts damage based on amount of resource.

@@EduardomscarvalhoFrom what I’ve heard the explosions can proc and benefit from the Bone skill passive bonuses. Not sure if it applies to lucky hit. I would consider the helmet a sidegrade if you didn’t need Life or CD reduction

What I’m really curious about, is the combo of uniques including Andariels Visage, temerity, and starlight resource aspect 👀 lifesteal, barrier, and probably ludicrous resource gen..

3 boots, 3 helms, 4 howls, 3 chestplates, 2 amulets, and all I want is the Black River and ring. Smh. Would be nice if they eventually have a pity system with salvaging uniques or something. Kind of like the Horadric Cube in D3 where you could salvage uniques to get parts that can be used to upgrade an item. Like you'd throw a 1 handed scythe in there with 3 sacrificial uniques and it would have maybe an 80% chance to turn it Legendary, or a 20% chance to turn it Unique.

Deathspeaker pendant also works well with ring of mendeln, since each nova from your minions is considered your damage which is more chances for lucky hits to occur

For some reason spamming decrepify on the shadow damaged enemies is also broken. As in it multiplies damage every time you use it when they’re under shadow or blight on or out of the prison. Did some testing yesterday and can’t see why it happens. Can someone else try this?

In your video,using black river with 92 level enemies I was surprised at the slow dps . I use your number 7 pick bloodless scream and melt the enemies in comparison.

i have black river and the boots. had the gloves on but didnt like the shadow chasing stuff, left my blight puddle in random spots somethimes and the affixes just didnt work for my SEVERE build lol. have the helmet too but its in the stash about to get scrapped bevause, well, i refuse to run bone spear since everyone else does....

The combo ive been running with the deathless scream scythe is a combo darkness/minion build. As far as damage I'm solid just need to work on survivability. Affixes for extra reapers and mages. Cold mages that make enemies vulnerable and affix for blizzard from them. Then different minion upgrades and shadowblight key passive. Essentially drop shadowblight and shadow corpse explosion and support my minions while everything gets frozen and dies to shadow dots/minions. Still want the ring of mendel to improve the over build but ao far it works and i think the scythe is undertated.

Does the Black River works with the Auto CE Heart in Season1?

p4wnyhof uses the deathspeakers pendant in a bloodsurge build that seems to work really well up to seemingly nightmare 80, although i haven't got the build fully there myself.

Blood necro really got fucked on every front. Not only bone spear does the most damage by far but it also has one of the best uniques that without gimmics just makes bone spear better. What blood surge got? Fucking minion novas? Why would i ever give up my +30% dmg +700 hp, +crit chance amulet for that? To wear that unique amulet would mean to sacrifice actual massive damage potential,which i absolutely out damage it now with no minions. Then you got bone spirit that picks up blood orbs, like ok? This is at least more of bone spirit based than blood orb one but if you look at paragon for blood orbs and such, its all blood based. This really does not seem to flow together.

LVL 100 Necro here with multiple duplicates of every other unique but still not one ring of Mendeln 😭

I got a near perfect 'Howl From Below" It has a 40% role and the other affixes are high rolls. Sadly it is a pretty low Item Level (500 and some change).

I use Deathspeaker's Pendant in my Blood Surge build, I have 220-500k overpower(depending on fortify and tendrils) and this multiplied on all my skellies just makes whole screen disappear:) the only struggle is in super high NMs, bc skellies can die pretty fast and then I'm skrewed.. and no Uber Lilith ofc.

Just hit level 50 and got deathless Visage as a enemy drop from my first nightmare dungeon lol

I recently got an (Ancestral Unique Chest) for my shadow necromancer with 11,000 thorns but not a single other stat! Didn't even realize an item like that was out there lol

Run this in the PVP area and they will kill their self trying to kill you. Thorns builds in PVP is so OP it’s insane. So yes keep this handy

​@lukedawg2787 its hard because at most you can get even with max thorns stats is 20k to MAYBE i havent seent it but 25k. If you can get it higher on necromancer then youre build is just thorns and nothing else. The problem is that its good for lower levels in pvp, but as soon as youre in level 100 fights the th9rns damage you reflect isnt high enough to be worth it. However if you have them sitting in your minions hitting them then its noticable, but most people will just one shot you given the chance with a build like that. I wasted a lot of gold and time testing it, even with aoe thorns, the thorns glyph, thorns mages. Fun in pve, not for pvp. So maybe someone else can give it a go, cause at 100 ot is not good.

That is a non-class specific unique. Those can drop for every class. Like the boots that leave behind a frost trail

I’m using death speakers pendant and loving it. Think you have massively underestimated it

Forget the other uniques, the Ring of Mendeln is already a problem in that it doesn't drop for most people. I leveled 2 necros to level 84 and have not seen a single ring.

@@tigcarn Ouch. It is ridiculous that such a build defining piece doesn't come until the last 10% of the game. Meanwhile the bone spear build requires no uniques that are hard to get, and does a ton more damage. One of my necros is bone spear, and my minion necro is not 100% minions since he also uses spear, but has skeletons, just no golem. Soon as I get the ring I will make him pure minion. My spear necro is fine, but frankly if I want to run around as a caster I would level my sorc up beyond 60.

@@tigcarn BTW, the exposed flesh aspect for spear is somewhat rare, but I did manage to have 2 of those by level 72 or so. But frankly even without that aspect, you can make spear work fine (just will have some mana issues).

I have I think 4 of them at 86 and never used them. I have multiples of all of the necro uniques except Black river.

Thorns on minions can proc lucky hit. You dont want thorns on any of your gear pieces but you atleast need a little for it to work. Which means having it on the Ring of Mendeln only is literally perfect and exactly what you'd want. The minion health is completely debatable though as the crux of the argument is whether they survive or not based on content you're doing at the time. Meaning you exclude MML on any of your other pieces until you notice you may need some. Meaning havin it on Mendeln is not only thematic, but not necessarily a downside either.

I am currently using the blood unique while i wait for mendalen ring to drop. I don't know what the difference is but the 5 stacks guarenteed overpower does proc for my minons when i use it currently.

I think he meant that the blood nova coming from your minions doesn't get you stacks, say if you miss your personal blood nova but your minions nova hits an enemy you don't get a stack.

Black river's radius increase doesnt really work, as for the start of the video with blood surge, you want the amulet's surge to count towards the 5 stacks for overpower? when the 2nd cast from yourself with the aspect doesnt count? even the first cast doesnt count sometimes.

What about the unique pants?? Those are absolutely amazing for overpower builds

Blood build has such potential but not any decent unique that support a sacrifice blood surge?

I use a working Blood Surge Deathspeaker's Pendant build. Every minion blood surge does overpower at 5 stacks of paranormal bloodsurge. Which means it rips through Elites and Bosses if multiple minions are in range. Aspects: Blood Getter (+2 skeleton warriors) and typical Blood Surge aspects. Book of the Dead setup: Reaper Skeleton Warriors. Mages (Bone) and Golem (Blood) are sacrificed. If you want to use ring of mendeln, you can instead use Skirmishers with the first upgrade to achieve the minimum 7 minions. Stack up Overpower, Minion Life and maximum life substats as you can.

+2 mages >+2 warriors. Especially if you give them the ability to freeze. I rain 11 minions including golem and it was amazing until all that was left was the golem and no corpses lol.

@@damicothebest I went for warriors since they run up to the mobs and the blood surge range is short. plus that 40% overpower boost when you sacrifice mages.

i recently gave up on black river in favor of running a regular sword\wand with good affixes spamming multiple corpses amounts to much higher dmg ticks overall than it overconsuming them + you get one more offensive aspect to push your dmg forward once the QoL aspect of it is not of any interest it loses all it's value IMO

Been grinding for black river for days now. Just keep getting everything else but it

Just got two black rivers yesterday, within 20 minutes of nightmare dungeons lvl 21. The best one is 809 item power. Build changing item.

I have 2 nexro uniques that are not on this list. #1 is a 2 handed sythe and #2 is the bloodlance chest piece

Knowing where the location of the gear is far more valuable than telling someone what the gear piece does because that’s what it does in the game you read it and it tells you what it does location location location

I use the pure minion build and I have, before the 1.02 patch, I was lucky enough to find the scythe and the arms for the corps explosion .. unfortunately, after the last update these objects, let's face it, have not changed the value of drop rate, have been taken off, like the Melden ring NEVER FOUND and I' m level 93 and do tides, dungeons, legions, WB and whisper tree regularly! It's ok but at late game you won't use them together. As an infinimist your better option will be: Decay on gloves, Ultimate Shadow and Blood-soaked on rings and Grasping Veins on off-hand. Much stronger setup.

Black River is actually a pretty shit weapon. The dmg increase to CE is weak af and the radius increase doesn't even work. It consumes up to 5 corpses but only sends out 1 volatile skeleton. Its just a bad weapon.

How does the corpse explosion ghosts work with blighted corpse explosion? Do they run and then drop a blighted area?

Yep, but the blighted area won't increase if using black river, but you dobget have the increased dmg and radius of initial explosion. I was running a build for a while using max blight it worked really well especially when both unique are in it and using blight pulls enemies aspect. You would basically stay in shadowblight at all times and it was close to what I could clear with bone spear build.

deathspeaker overpower proc does work with minions

Unless we have a truly army build necro is dead to me what’s the point of having minions if they are useless common blizzard. I’ll keep playing other classes if necro can’t be unique on its own feels a combination between rogues and sorcerer but couldn’t make up their mind. Hurry up give us a true minion build so I can create a yamamoto genryusai zanka no tachi character 😅

So im trying to get the gloves to spec to shadow, i had 4 unique drops in 4-5 hours...3 fists of fate and a frostburn, the game is trolling me

What makes Visage a good Unique? The AoE is small, does no damage and mostly triggers, when everything is dead already?

The stuff you get with it are nice. Like the phys damage, crit strikes with bones and more essence. Also nice if you find one with as much of the echo damage you can manage to loot. I just like it because if I have to back up to safety, I can still pop a little damage from the back with the echoes before its safer to get closer to something and do more damage.

@@rosenrot234 Yeah but cant you get that on a yellow too? I could imagine there are better legendary powers you could use on a helmet. I use the Visage too, i just dont think its that good. Its rather easy to come by, so its a nice filler till you find a perfect helm.

Black river is kinda uh not good lol the only build that its BIS for is corpse explosion which is really weird and takes so much set it to get into 7 digit hits. It feels good but is almost never your best option

Mother's Embrace As someone said, not a Necro unique so it isn't included here. I run that ring on my Necro and it's been really helpful for me. I was having issues with essence so it allows for a lot more Blood Surge spam!

I'm gonna be honest with you, Black River is a bait. It actively works against what you want to do with the shadow corpse explosion build, its affixes are mediocre. I'm not saying its unusable, but for the shadow build specifically you're much better off just running Howl from Below without it

@@spindoggytheexplorer2915 it depends on the build you are playing, however as a general rule a 1 handed sword with Vulnerable Damage + critical damage + intelligence + one other stat of your choice is usually always best in slot. If we are talking about the shadowmist build specifically, I know it sounds weird to get crit on a damage over time build, however most of your damage actually comes from the shadowblight passive which can crit

Howl From Below makes corpse explosion more accurate...10 seconds after showing a skeleton run all the way to Timbuktu.

Deathless Visage is great for the stats it gives you but the unique effect is not that good. The bombs it drops are entirely dependent upon how far it travels and if you are hitting something up close it doesn't hit them at all. It's pretty crazy going through a wind wall but that's about it, you'd be better off using a legendary with good affixes and more useful aspect.

@@SquashMelendez Which is why I said it's dependent upon range. I would rather have a legendary aspect that works all the time rather than a unique aspect that helps sometimes depending upon how far away you are (assuming you can get a helm with similar affixes). And it only "destroys" when something is in the bomb spot. Not exactly reliable damage.

While I generally agree with this video, the comment about thorns sucking on ring of Mendeln I do not. For a minion build, it is very important to have thorns on exactly one piece of gear, because while minions do not proc lucky hit on their own, the thorns they inherit from you CAN proc it, so you need thorns on one piece of gear somewhere for that chance.

I really wish they would give all of the non-uber uniques the same drop rate. I've got a high level ele and necro with tons of uniques but have never seen a black river, mendeln or raiment of the infinite. I'm at the point where I'm ready to move on to new classes, and I had to play the whole game without being able to try the cool mechanics afforded by those uniques...really a bummer.

I Really wish blizzard would change the [x] to [y] so people would actually realize it is a VARIABLE not TIMES or MULTIPLY. In Black River for example, "130%[x]" you sacrifices 4 corpses to pop 1, that one deals 130% more damage and get a max radius of nearly double the size. i have tested this multiple times. That being said, Black River allows you to sacrifice 4 total corpse (400%[x]) for a single (230%[x]) but larger radius. black river also consumes the corpses extremely fast. Adversely they way it is written some believe the damage is also per corpse upto 4, however, the only factor the number of corpse consumed contributes to is the size. the largest "hint to this is "and" separates the math parts... "per corpse" is with radius not collectively. if it was a multiplier, they wouldn't have put "per corpse" because that's what the multiplier would be doing, instead they would have added the [x] after the radius adjustment. stacking corpses is extremely easy and efficient with the Howl for Below gloves removing the need for a larger radius. but don't take my word for it, scroll through the list of items that use [x], every single use refers to a skill that has variable damage that increases with rank and your level. And finally, the [x] is only viewable on PC, console players do not see [x] on ANY gear. meaning it is not entirely intended to be seen.... aka tool tip error on PC.

I am all in on the shadow bombing build with black river, its so good, id be surprised if bone spear doesnt get nerfed first before this build does

nerfing bone spear would kill the necromancer class. period

Nice showcase but your showcase of number 5 can be ranked up. I picked up a legendary that increases blight DMG by 99% (80-120) when you use sever.

Hard disagree on minions not being meta. They could use a buff and I am desperately hoping for one, but they definitely get the job done. The problem is the heavy investment cost and that the build doesn't come online until like 60+ and with all the additional Paragon from Renown. It also requires very specific affixes on your gear, including all the ones on the Ring of Mendeln. I was bashing Iron Maiden the other day lamenting how trash it is, until I finally put points into it along with ranking up my minion Paragon etc. I'm not well geared enough yet to make it consistent, but I have seen bosses absolutely MELT from attacking my boys. The thing I'm torn about is if I want the Visage to help keep vulnerable up (and suplimental damage) or take a decent defensive power on a helm that has bonus ranks to IM. That, and if I want a 2 handed weapon or not. Shields can roll some very helpful stats, including double dipping on Thorns. But there's also a power that can grant up to 85% attack speed for minions on a 2H. But then Wands also have Lucky Hit Chance natively so... Damn. I wish they would make more stuff apply to minions. Far as I know, anything that says "You deal more damage" literally means just you - this was not the case in D3. Minions can't seem to proc aspects that don't specifically mention them either which really sucks because Needleflare would be hilariously OP.

If black river gets a nerf before I even see the item I'm gonna be a sad lad

leveled from 1 - 100 and still havent seen The Ring of Mendehln drop.

Scythe are best choice for HC necros who dont play bone spear build.. Btw have 3 necros on HC 98,92,75 and not a single Black river drop.

Ring of Mendeln has to go otherwise they can't buff the minion damage itself...would be too strong without RoM Nerf/Change

the affixes on black river are kinda shitty..wish they were different....and i cant find the damn thing for 20 levels now

Black River cannot be number one to me until they fix the damn thing. Currently it does not increase the radius of blighted corpse explosion. This has been tested extensively by other youtubers.

I finally got the deathless visage. Turned my bone spear build into a one shot build.

Howl from below is consider 3 affix unique cause mob running from you so annoy ( and gate portal from event map can get fear is so badddd bug ) some unique consider good on its effect but some still have worst stat like gain thorn on skeleton/golem cause some mech in game is wrost if you compare to cri/cridmg. I play darkness dot necro it fun but has their weakness : a single brust ( 1 elias stand alone and have life steal ) , blood surge necro -> good damage early fall off later need to skill close range risk to get dmg and cant get full potential of op mech, minion if not bone prison bug full lucky change this build completely useless, and bone ofc broken AF less defend? (Bone strom / blood mist is some solution ). Honesly they need some creative and synergy effect affix more to aspect build and balance build every to close to other (stop focus and said 'its good for early and bad when go higher level. PPL soon will find thier end game content eventually why not better do every build end game slightly diff in term of dps) not just necro every class. Just watch someguy said Babar aspect almost all D tier LoL. BTW like your clip i love necro black river I like its also but i think consume more to be 1 aoe feel abit downside for me cause it decrease lucky change on multiple hit skill exchange for synergy with legendary node . Think trigger 5 corpse in 1 cast without combine is better ) thank love you necro for life!
