I had another player go down near me and was pleasantly surprised when I got near his headstone the 'revive' prompt showed up. Then last night during a WE my rogue went down and was rezed by another player...used the emote 'thank you' for the first time...

My only complaint is I think the ultimate should be on its own skill slot, using one of your 4 hot keys is rough. It just does not feel like you have enough options in play. Yeah, yeah it promotes different builds, but you can load so few skills you just don't try nearly as much. Edit to add, oh and there is no darkness ultimate. There is undead, blood and bone but no darkness.

@@TheFirstRealChewy Maybe, but while its entertaining enough to play through once unless those come out I can't see myself playing it again. Long post incoming my preferred/planned build ended up feeling pointless. Necromancer summons include 3 slots, skeletons, golem, the ultimate, 2 of those are a lot like passives in that you only really use them again in boss fights, the ultimate is okay but its got a long cool down. That really leaves one spell to play with in a build. Yeah you have the left/right click ones but those feel more like a light and heavy basic attack than a actual skill use. If you play into being a necromancer you just don't have much past your basic/core attacks. I kind of get it, there are like 8 active skills past the basic/core then 3 ultimates so if your have access to too many there would not be much build diversity. But some of that is a flaw in that each tier should have come with 4 skills or at least 3 active ones(bone, blood, shadow) There are only 2 curses, only 2 spells at corpse and macabre level, only 3 ultimates. There really just is not much. So they trim you down to 4 active skills and a core/basic which again feel more like basic/heavy attacks and not unique spells. Ideally they would have had enough skills that letting people have 8-10 skills would not be an issue. But failing that the ultimate on its own would at least free up 1 skill.

Yeah I've had the same thought. I'm currently at lvl 54 world tier 3 with my necromancer and I've never really had an ultimate equipped for more then to try em out. Yeah the ults are neat but with the fairly large cooldown I've really felt it was more practical to have another core ability instead. But there is this voice in the back of my head always saying I'm doing it wrong for not using an ultimate ability.

My first Diablo experience was 4’s beta. I then went back to D3 and really enjoyed that too. Just finished Act 1 of D4 last night on a minion Necro. Really enjoying myself so far.

This game has blown me away. Absolutely stunning. This game is fantasy art brought to life. So refined so polished and so much attention to detail. Me and my mates are on this journey and I don’t know when we will be back. Sanctuary is home.

I can't wait until they add the battle pass and see people complain about it but still play the game.

​@Dakota Williams that's true, but then it becomes an issue if they change a game to make it more appealing to buy them. Such as highly increasing the grind for leveling or upgradable materials. It makes the experience as a whole worse.

Rubberbanding can get especially bad for me as a Necromancer with an army following me. Definitely causes some issues, but only occasionally. I did have an episode or two where I just switched back to Tears of The Kingdom because the stability just went into the toilet. I did manage to do like a 8 player plus event today with no lag so maybe they’re already on it

there already was stability/ barb/ classes and latency end game FIXES.. MAN.. this GAME :D I sounding too much fanboy.. let me go back to D4 now.. and then FH5 and THEN Tears.. HONESTLY... (shhh..) its too bad Tears zelda botw 2 came out during DIABLO 4 ( 13 years later) WOW this game.

I did the same thing….played the Beta about 2-3 hours and turned it off. I’m downloading it right now…I’m stoked.

So far some minor visual bugs are the only issue I’ve run into (and I guess Golem not auto-binding and having to do it myself which was a little confusing until I looked it up). It’s fantastic. The gameplay loop they nearly perfected in D3 has just been improved and given a great new look.

It’s been so long since I did a first playthrough of D3, and world tier progression does feel slow (I’m ready for 3, give me that next tier) but there’s so much to do even in the main game, let alone the endgame loop.

When it comes to the in game cosmetic store, I’m kinda fine with it since some of the armor you can find in late-endgame which cost you nothing to convert into transmog looks a lot better than the stuff the real money store offers

I’d say RE4, Zelda, FF16 and Spider-Man 2 are the big titles this year and front runners for GotY…if you count RE4 as it is indeed a remake. Worthy, but a remake nonetheless. I’m sure Forza will be excellent but racing games are too marginal to be taken seriously as GotY contenders, at least in years like these with the aforementioned games having released.

Loving the game. I've had two login issues. The first day PSN was borked and couldn't get a license.. eventually the user population find a workaround and we started playing. 2nd time was a blizzard login issue and I didn't get to play for awhile.. and I'm already limited in playtime. I agree it trickles the rewards enough to keep you going, and everywhere you go is a distraction for something different to do.. you're not stuck on the main.

I've also been doing necromancer but i use a lot of the corpes abillities and blood skills but i think i'm going to change stuff to be a mix of blood and bone skills with corpes explosion on RB so far i haven't had any lag but tomorrow i'm anticipating the servers to be pretty stressed for the actual launch though i hope i'm wrong on this because so far the launch is going way better than anyone else's live service titles these past couple years so i hope they keep that up it's a good change to see blizzard get something right (aside from the store prices which are a bit much i'd rather see valhallas cosmetic pricing scheme because i believe their cosmetics are a lot cheaper

We should always have the option to play offline if it is a single player game. Diablo 3 I used to play both, offline and online. Not having this option in Diablo 4 is a step back, doesn't matter if I have internet all the time. I shouldn't be playing a single player game and get kicked off halfway into a story cutscene because the game server crashed.

@@SteelKreel basically it means if you’re internet is down/spotty or the server is down you can’t play. Also can result in rubber banding and hitreg issues if there are problems on either your end or the servers

@@SteelKreel idk about op, but besides my phone I don't have good internet at home. There are dozens of us that are either to poor to reliably afford the extra bill, or simply to rural to have quality signal (or both in my case). I'm fine not playing online, but it's a bummer and a deal breaker when a single player game requires internet. Essentially it renders them unplayable and useless for me when I'm at home where I do my gaming. Can't think of many great reasons for it on the consumer end either, given that it bars some consumers from being able to use the game at all.

First time playing in using lightning based sorcerer it’s been fun I was kinda iffy on the pov at first but after a few hours it almost seems natural. Kinda makes things seem small but I’m enjoying the story although I was slightly butt hurt by the early betrayal. Trying not to get tips for building making so I can get a fresh perspective and the areas are pretty open so I’ve been trying to enjoy taking more time rather than rushing through the maps like in other games. But I can tell this is gonna be taking up a lot of my game time🤣.

I'm playing on a old used Xbox one x and using some 8 dollar headphones I bought from Big lots. The audio is somehow still amazing. The gameplay and multiplayer is working without issues so far. Loving how dark the story is this time around. Very gruesome and sinister. Druid is very very cool. Put life on hold for this game right now. Lol Great review 😊

Just getting started with Diablo 4. Currently at Lev 5 with a Sorcerer. Had not played Diablo in so long, I forgot how great the gameplay and progression was. Looking forward to many more hours of Diablo 4.

i agree with your point about villains being present and upfront in a story. was my biggest issue with horizon fw's story. all the villains were barely present throughout the runtime

First 5 hours were good but last night ISP had an outage and got kicked out of my game. Tried to hop when it came back and now I'm stuck in queues that keep counting up. Tried for over an hour and couldn't get back online. Always online for Diablo is already a problem

Man... glad to hear so many first time Diablo players enjoying D4. I hope some of you/them go back and play 1 and 2 though. They aren't the same, so don't expect that, but they have their own greatness to appreciate for sure. By the way, the whole "Chasing the villain" thing is kind of a staple of all 4 of the Diablo games (I don't know about immortal since I didn't play it).

My biggest issue with this game aside always online which i also hate is level scaling 😔 makes doing sidequest feel somewhat useless.. i started doing sidequest thinking i will grow My character and make next mission easier only to realise as i level up the mission level also raises

I been waiting for this game & been loving it! So much to do. Servers caught on fire already lol. After 5th dc within 13min each time, I had to stop for the night. Really hope they get the servers in line by the time I play again. No way would I waste my time doing hc with how bad these dcs were getting. I lost count amount of dc I got trying to finish the dungeon for t3 unlock

This is the first Diablo game I have played and I am enjoying it. It's fun and I can take it at my own pace. I'm really looking forward to learning all about this game and seeing what class I end up on. I started with a barbarian as it seemed like it would be the most "newbie" friendly in the game. I plan on playing every class eventually.

Great video, Matty! I LOVE loot based games! I love alternate costumes and gear stats and that crazy ridiculous looking armour but I was in the same boat as you! I always avoided Diablo! Then one of my buddies got me into D3 and it was EXACTLY what I was looking for! The, as you say, loot vomit, the crazy build opportunities and gnarly looking armour was perfect to me! Love the sense of progression the game gave me as I built huge endgame builds and crushing torment 16 rifts! I feel that’s one of Blizzards biggest feats is making you feel rewarded for hard work and patience in the game! A TRUE sense of progression! D4, imo, is the best Diablo game we’ve ever gotten (store and all) I love the dark, gothic atmosphere of it all. The best way I can describe the tone is catholic metal! I love the fine tuned gameplay, the visuals, the creature designs and of course, the LOOT! I literally cannot wait to see what this game has in store for the future! I’d love a reaper of souls like expansion for the game! Something that expands on the story and world and adds new classes, locations, mounts etc. Looking forward to future videos from the channel! Keep up the great work!

To be honest you should have started with D2 at least , D2 Resurected , as D4 is a much more proper sequel to that game. D3 is fun and solid now ofc , so it is a nice start but D2 at least is the essential one imo .

Got to admit, I am hooked and find it a huge step forward from 3. XSX uprightshark if anyone needs backup. Hope Blizzard keeps this path with this game and hope they bring back the Paladin next. As usual, excellent coverage Matty.

The game is dangerous. I hit level 50 before even getting my mount. Will be like ok im going to do some story content then get distracted and boom the suns up. Whole night gone lol.

There should atleast be a way to farm an ingame currency for shop items

Need an opinion. I've never played a Diablo game before, and I'm the type of person to play through a game until I beat it and then maybe finish a few side quests before never touching it again. From what I've seen, it seems like this game is somewhat live service (I might be wrong), so do you guys think this is a game worth getting if I just play through the campaign and do a few side quests that interest me? I do enjoy RPG's and just good games overall regardless of genre. Thanks!

No their is so much content in just playing the story and levelling a single character (tones of fun legendaries skills amazing cosmetics and more side content than most games, that time wise it one of the best games for value and most people seem to enjoy the combat which is the most important part, the question you should ask yourself is, do you like looter shooters, cos its mostly going into dungeons, killing enimies and bosses. Their are amazing locations but its still gonna be killing different enemies, and getting loot to upgrade. Also as a small note the campaign is actually quite hard but the time you start getting to the end you need a good setup. The cinematic are the best in the series though if that was the only reason for you to get it you could technically watch them at lower quality online. For me as a Diablo fan its 10/10 so far.

That opening cinematic was very creepy, like it was so creepy.

There is absolutely no justification for the in-game store, all the stuff in it should have been earnable in-game. Blizzard will make a ton of money from this game, and having the store does not incentivize quality content updates.

I wonder if they will add this to cloud. Would be sick to grind out more on mobile when on the go.

been playing since early access, gotta say this is one of the smoothest launches in a long time.

Really enjoying it so far. Gonna be hard to not play for the week since heading back to work tomorrow. Not sure where you are seeing the lag but it’s been fantastic on my side. I do have fiber optic internet so maybe that’s it. But for me very little issues with any lag or rubber banding since early access. Almost no login issues.

No offline mode, im not wasting money on this. People like you seem to forget that Diablo 1 and 2 didnt require a constant internet connection. It sucks Blizzard is still going the Diablo 3 route with the constant internet bs. They seem to have forgotten some people live in areas with really bad connections.

Early access couch co-op was just about flawless. Late Monday night (the 5th) as the full release started we got some issues. It reminds me of the Blizzard of old. Born in 76 so I definitely remember Blizzard of old. Only gripe is the builds are a bit simplistic but this is just the beginning.

Can people confirm whether this game is still fun as a solo experience? I will be playing with friends occasionally but not all the time, so just wanted to check. I am very interested in getting it and have never played a Diablo title before.

I played during beta and knew I had to get it 😊 plus I've played D2 and D3.

I played a LOT of Diablo 2 back in the day. I never got 3, but this one looks REALLY fun. I have a question though. How playable is it on PC with KB and mouse? I haven't owned a console in YEARS and I really don't like controllers. This style of game works well with controllers, but I'm curious if they made it work well for PC too.

I feel you man. Had they just done it like D3 when it comes to online play. That would’ve been just fine. The rubber banding really kills immersion. I hate always online

I made 3 different characters to keep me busy i have a level 42 druid, a level 10 Sorcerer and a level 13 Necromancer lol i love the fact that everything is linked its nice.

at least the shop items look dope as hell and seem to be just cosmetic.

Was waiting for a review of this. Didn’t want to preorder just in case. Edit: That connection issue is definitely worrying…

Very tempted to buy Diablo 4, never played a ARPG so I’m on the fence, mainly FPS games and story type games. Just nervous about putting the 70 bucks down. Thoughts ?

Thoughts would be to trust the temptation on this one. It’s been well received so far and it’s definitely worth the price and much more. ARPG genre is pretty good and this one delivers!

Can xbox group with pc or ps?

As somone whos never played a Diablo game. What games would you compare it too?
