Fun fact. If you are playing Hellfire, it comes with the Monk class and this is known by everyone who's played it. However, with a small .txt file, you can also unlock the Barbarian and a Bard. Barbs use the Warrior model and excel at 2h Axes and do huge damage with them, however they have no magic and can only gain mana through items. Bards use the same model as a Rogue, but they do not use bows and instead dual wield melee weapons, although the in-game graphics only show them with 1 weapon. They are kind of a hybrid between a Warrior and a Sorc, having high magic and a higher cast speed than a warrior. BTW, in Hellfire you can lvl to 50 in SP. Lastly, if you ever play MP, do not take these 3 shrines: Ornate, Fascinating and Sacred. They will raise some of your weaker spells by 2 lvls, but they will permanently lower your max mana by 10%. This is not really an issue in SP, as you will never get to a high lvl, but this semi-bricks MP characters. For the same reason, you do not want to click on goat shrines and cauldrons as they are random.

i love the fact the monsters reveals theirs stats after killing a lot of them, seems more realistic and make you fear them

Knockback is nice all i can think about is windforce. I played a war but got tired of ranged attack so i made a rogue. Sometimes you get bad spawns like 10+ hounds in one area. makes me wanna play d1 again lol gog has d1 and hellfire for 9.99. A Diablo 1 remaster would be cool.

I know this is a month too late, but when you swapped shields, you lost +2 Str, bringing you to 83. The shrine you clicked on then gave you another +2, returning you to 85 Str.

The Beezlebub mod is incredible

Griswald's Edge is ok if you are low lvl in Hell and have a problem with the mobs, but after you can kill them with no issues, it does become annoying due to the knockback. If you want a better challenge, play MP. Mobs have twice the HPs and hit harder, however you can't save and if you die you need to retrieve your items. There are also fewer quests and you do not get the quest items, However, you can do Nightmare difficulty and Hell difficulty when you hit lvl 20 and 30 respectively and can hit lvl 50 eventually. D1 used to have a very dedicated community years ago and it focused on MP, as SP was basically a one and done thing. As far as point distribution, you want to first max Dex, then max Magic while keeping up Str for items, which have requirements up to 100 Str and lastly Vit, but that's only for MP.

Weird you couldn't get the expansion to work, I quickly installed my copy from GOG and it fired up instantly and worked just fine. Started running a Monk into the depths for fun.

I respect not duping in playthrough, but afterwards you should do it just for the experience. Even offscreen, but it’s a fun thing to do, just because you can
