Thank you for watching the video! The reason we shave the shank of the OTAFUKU hammer is that the size and habits of craftsmen's hands vary greatly, so we shape each one to be comfortable to hold. As shown in the video, there are quite a few differences in the condition of the wood when we first acquire it, so we start by selecting pieces with good quality wood and the right head position. After that, we shave it to fit our hands. In fact, even at that stage, the hammer is still unfinished. Over the years, as it is held and used, it gradually becomes an OTAFUKU hammer that perfectly fits one's hand. That's how it goes. ビデオを見てくれてありがとうございます！ OTAFUKU鎚のシャンクを削る理由は 職人の手の大きさや癖が人によって様々なので 一人一人持ちやすい形に整えています。 映像でもある通り、仕入れた状態では個体差が結構あり まずは良い木か、頭の位置が丁度いいかなど選別します。 その後、自分に合うように削っていきます。 実はあの状態だとまだ未完成で そこから何年もかけて握り、使っていくうちに 自分の手に合ったOTAFUKU槌ができる。 という感じでしょうか。

とても参考になりました。加工前のオタフク鎚はどちらで購入すれば良いでしょうか？リンクなどがあると嬉しいです。

ご視聴ありがとうございます！ 彫金工具を扱っているお店には大体売っていると思います。 ネットでも購入できますがオタフク自体に個体差がありますので 実物を見ることをお勧めします。
