In this video, we'll take you along for the first flight of a brand-new Boeing 777F from Everett, WA to Leipzig, Germany. DHL Express recently acquired new Boeing 777-F planes that will help reduce CO2 emissions.
Come along and get the Pilot’s POV for both start and landing, witness the pre-flight inspection and listen in to the pilots’ conversation on this journey.
The 777 Freighter is the world's largest, longest range and most capable twin-engine freighter with a range of 9,200 km (4,970 nautical miles) and can carry a maximum payload of 102,010 kg (224,900 lbs). It allows DHL Express to make fewer stops and reduce associated landing fees on long-haul routes, resulting in the lowest trip cost of any large freighter.

That last minute runway change was pretty messy... No checklist work, cross-checking or rebrief, just taking over the numbers from the additional pilot and that's it... 😅

Couldn’t agree more. Take off rwy shift under poor crm procedures. No xcheck perf data no re briefing…truly poor

Considering the Capt was supposedly the MD of Aerologic it seems his SOPs, calls, etc where very poor. You have to wonder how he passed all his checks? Maybe he should stick to flying a desk!

I was once in a delivery flight from PAE in 2015. Days before that , we had test flight from PAE to Moses Lake. What an experience.

what a lovely looking aircraft, my father flew the Lockheed Tristar with BA, wonderful memories, I flew with him in the cockpit jump seat to Israel.
great, roomy aircraft i'm in regularly. also, the engines sound awesome when powered up! they have that special howl. plus, aerologic crews are the friendliest i've ever had the pleasure to deal with. they really stand out.
Do you know how lucky these pilots are? Not to be picking up a new airplane, or be flying one of the most beautiful and advanced planes in the sky. They got to see the sun in Washington at Boeing Field lol!

Dunno how i'd manage trying to remember all that stuff to say to ATC/to the other crew members and all the stuff to check. I have enough trouble trying to set my windscreen wipers to a suitable speed whilst adjusting my air conditioning on the M6.

He is still the CEO of Aerologic. As he is aged over 65, he is not allowed to do any revenue flights. But he is still a check captain and he is allowed to pick up planes in SEA, as its a non revenue flight.

My guesstimate would be that they already did their take-off briefings and performance calculations based on a 16R departure. And since the 777, which, besides the full tanks Boeing usually donates to their customers upon delivery, was very likely other than that pretty much empty, they probably decided to neglect the tailwind component in favor of a shorter taxi time as iirc the delivery center is nearer to the end of runway 16R than 34L

most powerful idk, but they're enormous! had 757's standing beside 777's and their engines looked like toys compared to those of the triple 7's. love the 777.
Being in Seychelles, in the middle of the Indian Ocean, I rely on DHL for all my parcels from US and Europe. Excellent service for over 10 years. Nice addition to the fleet 👍

They aked ATC if they could depart via the non-active runway 16R instead of 34L at rather short notice, probably due to a shorter taxi time (saving on fuel in the process) and so had to redo the different performance calculations (V-speeds, etc.) for the new runway all over again once their request was granted, which caused the slight delay.

What a poor and bosy attitude on the captain. Asking for random things he did not mention before and senior f/o just giving speeds without cross checking. Flying f/o seems very nervous.

He isn’t allowed for commercial flights , however these maiden flights aren’t categorized as a commercial flight.
ich bi enttäuscht Leider ist DHL für mich nicht gut gearbeitet. seit 6.10.2021 ist mein packet in DHLzentrum in Bochum und bewegt sich nicht mehr. seit September ist 2. mal passiert mit meine Packets. die kommen nicht an!!

@@dhlDHL Ich versuche seit 10. 10.2021 eine lösung zu finden. ich habe mit Ihre Kunden service mehrmals gesprochen. es ist leider keine Hilfe von dhl Seite. ich brauche einen Nachforschungantrag zu bestellen. DHL sagt der Absender muss das machen. und Absender (Samsung) sagt das ist nicht Samsung Verantwortung den Antrag zu stellen.

Such a huge plane with the most powerful engines on the planet, it will make lots of money for DHL, however why did they not put the more fuel saving GENX engines to save a bit more fuel they are almost as powerful as the GE90s but just the latest more up to date technology?????

Brand new plane...1980s cockpit
In an effort to save taxi time and choose a different runway, they completely failed basic CRM skills and still had to wait to go through all their numbers. Not to mention go against current airport flow with other traffic landing north.

This happens all the time, nothing unsafe or out of the normal here. I’ve done this safely several times over 25 years in the airlines. As long as the data is valid and everyone is on the same page, move along.
easa pilots mucking things up again. ask for a different runway with a tailwind and are then unprepared to take it. nobody in the cockpit says anything. blows my mind
a A350F will reduce CO2 emissions more GO FOR IT

Was ist denn das für ein komischer Pilot. Der soll mal hinhören, was man zu ihm sagt. 5x wiederholen sich alle, weil er sich lieber mit irgendwas anderem Beschäftigt als den Anweisungen des Towers oder der Crew. 🤡 Der ist doch mit seinen Aufgaben überfordert. Sowas gehört an kein Steuer eines Flugzeugs.
