Yeah... I get why people CAN think that. The platforms in the stages they choose can really help with Dark Wizzy's (Mario's) combos.

This is quite literally the hardest bowser battle somebody has ever played with mario.

1:48 Mario main here. It actually does two frame but it's the saddest two frame ever because the opponent just turns around and grabs ledge, it's more of an anti scrub tactic since lower level players go above ledge way more.

If it's a two frame then the opponent has already grabbed the ledge and they will pop up right in front of Mario. You can true combo it into down smash or up smash. If it's not a two frame and hits opponents up b it's a free stock. Like what Dark Wizzy tried there. Not a scrub tactic imo.

Leon did a pretty good job using Bowser Jr., but he definitely overused forward smash.

On stage he barely ever got punished for it due to how safe and fast of a move it is. Though at ledge I agree with you, Dark Wizzy started avoiding it every time Leon used FSmash to ledge trap.

Agreed Jr has one of the best jabs in the game. He should have mixed that with down tilt a bit more often. Really close game though LeoN's Jr was looking really good there

@@TyphonCH I'm more than happy to see another professional smash player use Bowser Jr. even as just a secondary pick. Both Bowser and Bowser Jr. have been overlooked mostly in past Smash games, so it's nice to see both of them receiving more representation and better competitive results in Smash Ultimate.

Just Joseph Bowser’s F-Smash is not a safe move.

I wish Leon would've jabbed more at ledge, jab with BJR is extremely quick and a pretty deceiving kill move. Good stuff to Wizzy though.

@Gavin Lee Yeah smash community are sheep. Bowser Jr is a really good character. Definitely a lower high tier. He literally has no weaknesses in his game and has amazing tools 1.Idk how clowns say his recovery is bad. Hes one of the most non-gimpable dudes in the game. Plus that hammer outta UpB does waaaay more knockback than you'd think it do 2. Great projectiles. Cannonball is active for freakin ever and is a key anti-edgeguarding tool. Mecha Koopa comes in the clutch as a combo breaker, combo extender, space controller, and set up tool. The exploding clown car cant even be challenged. If he drops it on your shield you just have to hold that for like 60 frames 3. Heavy weight but amazing mobility. Dude is in the top 5 most mobile characters in the game. That alone makes him viable in a game like smash 4. Best Jab in the game by far. Its not even close 5. Insane damage output and consistent combos Like i have no idea why people think hes a bad character. Dude has the sauce

The first game was like watching hbox puff in melee camp grand finals

Bowser Jr. Tips: At 65-80% you can combo a side-b hit into up-b hammer. Don't use grab, unless you are sure you can get it since it's really not safe (lower percents falling nair can string into it) Jab kills at the ledge around 125% and jab comes out around frame 7 (fast) + Jabbing after f-smash is a good option on ledge which can catch opponents out since f-smash has relatively low ending lag and jab comes out fast and can kill at the ledge. Don't spam fair since it's active hitbox is deceivingly short, use nair/bairs instead since they have better frame data when landing The movement from Leon was really good, but grabbed too much, dair does not auto-cancel like it did in smash 4 and doesn't really combo into anything at higher percents + not really safe so best not to use it often. He looked like he played it occasionally but it doesn't look like he plays Bowser Jr. as a pocket so this looked like a "ima lose, but what the heck lets bust this character out" type moment.

Yes I think these tips are for people who do not play or play against the character mentioned above. I'm glad you are above these tips, but please recognize you are not the intended audience of these tips.

Last time I saw Leon, he rocked MastaMario and Zenyou in SoCal. Dark Wizzy though, the man has gotten so good.

It also helps to understand how the buffer system works. It makes it really easy. The only thing that gets difficult is learning the autocancel frames to get it tight for a tournament setting but honestly ull be good in friendlys lol.

0:12 I can't help but realize how much Sakurai makes the characters to the actual game, yea its not interesting to watch the camp but if you think about it it's literally a Mario game, Mario is waiting for Bowser to approach just like in the real game where you wait for Bowser to jump while Bowser tries to attack with his fire attacks hoping Mario tries to attack.

Bowser Jr.'s the type of character where if you don't know the matchup, they can blow you up. If you do however... weeellll...

That's for alot of match ups in this game tbh. Zelda,pacman,heck even Ike if you dun respect NAIR OF THE GODS, also Ridley's advantage state. If you dun know what hes gunna do you die at 50 sometimes....he also dies at 50 sometimes if they dun know what they are doing lol

@@JDuzzle To me it looked like a cancelled up air, If you go free by frame. Really you don't need to tech that if you act in the air before you hit the ground. It was impressive that he knew there would be no tech from neutral and then dashed into a jablock, but I see so many pros do it almost 100% of the time.
