Reporter portray a biased views against secularism. Though there are many instances where hindu as well muslim got into communal conflicts. But there several others places where we didn't listen that type of instances. In my district where both hindu and muslim population live, I didn't get to know about a single case about such communal riot, victims etc since my birth. No discrimination at all..all these communal riots happens when there is a political motive... Don't believe me just look at history of communal conflicts.

Speaking as a North American, this inside look at India and its problems is distressing and reflects global tensions with religious/cultural values and identity as well as economic disparity. The very heart of the issue touches on the mistrust and anger that plagues Humanity in general. Gandhiji helped liberate India but India must find its moral and spiritual center again. My prayers go out to India and her people of whatever caste, creed or circumstance.

The first time I went to China, a long time ago, people had a rural or urban identity card. That meant that rural people weren't allowed to move to cities and get better jobs, so there was mass, domestic illegal immigration. Then the Chinese government realised that Chinese farmland was better managed by larger collectives and the people were better occupied in manufacturing. I lived in Zhengzhou, next to the Foxconn factory, and it was pretty awful, so I'm in two minds. I'll let you know.

This level of injustices in the Indian society doesn't guarantee unending peace forever and ever, it's just a time bomb they are making for themselves which is growing bigger and bigger over the generations. Peace is not mere absence of war or conflict, it means much more than that. The greed for vanity has made society reach this far!!!!! I am not sure about hindu nationalism, but i think gov. of India is doing well when it comes to welfarism. But what i can see is s slow but steady resilient progress. I still believe that democracy is the best and most resilient way to progress in long run. I think this game with China is not over yet. In long run, i still believe India will succeed.

The renowned agricultarist, M.S. Swaminathan has an astute understanding of the Indian reality and its crazy economic policies followed by the government which is deliberately fine tuned to the interests of Corporates. India will soon be ruined if corrective steps are not initiated to support the farmers who account for more than half the population of India ; and providing food for the entire nation are left in the lurch. Thousand kudos to M.S.S.

I have lived 10 years in India... First, you do have to understand the people. And if you do so, you will never find such huge variety of people anywhere in the world... For instance, Varanasi is the living hell and the living paradise... Varansi is awful and so beautiful... Never you will find such polarity anywhere in the world... I thought I knew India and I went to Rishikesh and saw naked bosom of beautiful Indian women bathing in the Ganges... And I asked WHY... That is a group of Indian Pilgrims and their custom is so ... Everywhere else in India is this forbidden...

We know the Indian caste system has lasted for centuries, but, after 200 (+-) years of being ruled by the British, the British leaving & partition one would think that the caste system would be a bygone thing.........but humans being humans there will, no matter where, those who are on "top" & those (majority) forced to the bottom........but, for me at 74 the irony is, the "superior" ones dislike / hate, ALL of us POC, no matter who we are, where we are or our histories.....with that in mind uniting is the ignored answer.
