Hatsoff to director.. 1. A period movie within 10 Cr with unknown actors. 2. A period movie with a clear message.. It is all about authority of humans on their own. 3. A great hook for the sequel that already feels it will be better. I hope more people watch, recognize and appreciate this movie. Yes there are issues due to budget constraints but movies with 500 Cr lacked more.

Karthik Naren is also the son of the soil but a terrible terrible filmmaker. He made worst films. Even his first movie is very bad but had very good promotions and the twist worked. That's all

This director is going to shine in future. Saw the film, with just 7 cr, he had done an impressive job. Will eagerly wait for his movies. I have seen so many actors/directors some of them even established calling BR as "sir" in his show, but this guy is so confident and having great conviction of his thought process that he just sees BR as interviewer, never did he address BR as sir. He is schooling BR, but at the same time not arrogant. His stress is on conveying his thought process.

I do expect this movie to have its flaws since it is a first-time director's effort with a budget that is far lower than usual for a period movie and the effort to use old Tamil in the dialogues might throw some off from watching... I love how this movie has thrown up debate on historical accuracies...It grows the understanding of the common person when we make more of such movies as inevitably Tamil historians will come to the fore when discussions are held and have an audience they didn't have before...With OTT consumption, it should become more common to watching international movies with subtitles for those from the sub-continent and I honestly feel this movie might be more appreciated in the years ahead than now, much like aayirathil oruvan... Just wish it was shown out here in Singapore theatres...

Really like to appreciate Baradwaj to have such an elaborated conversation with Yaathisai Movie director Dharani Rasendran. Amazed with director answers he was so honest, humble, and very clear in explaining the movie. I seen the movie it was great, so picturesque and beautiful. It was so interesting and kept me well occupied throughout the movie. What a splendid movie by director and his team. Wish him best of luck for many future movies like this to our people. Hopefully such talents will be recognized and offered bigger budgets for their future goals.

That I agree......the Bharatanatyam danced, especially the Thillaanaa, doesn't make sense as, early KOOTHU, not even SADHIR (later christened as BHARATANATYAM) danced to KOTRAVAI, a tribal deity should be more apt. Even the concept of ADAVUS was not there during this period, so KOOTHU would have been more appropriate and not the stylized THILLANA, like in the movie.

The first scene where a Brahmin character falls in love with a girl by seeing a dance which didn't properly connect. May time restraint to train artists for dance may be a better person who could have done justice to dance . The dance portion wouldn't be more than 10 mins if they would have taken care The movie would be a wholesome experience
