Often, cities are shaped and given unique identities by art, culture and more often than not, cinema.
Our perception of the city before we encounter the actual city is from something we have seen in a movie - or an OTT series.
So we asked: Can citizens tell us their own stories of Bengaluru? And that was how the DH Weekend Film Challenge took shape.
Participants had 54 hours to script, shoot, edit and submit the film.

The themes for the film challenge were:
· Shutdown, Restart: Beginnings @ Bengaluru (or)
· Friends, Strangers, Bengaluru: Encounters with the City.
The contest was judged by eminent Jurors, namely.
Pawan Kumar
Filmmaker, actor and theatre personality best known for his films Lucia and U Turn.
Sandhya Kumar
Filmmaker based in Bengaluru. Her 2012 documentary, ‘ O Friend, This Waiting!’ won the National Film Award for best arts/cultural film.
Suresh Urs
Film Editor who has worked across Kannada, Tamil and Hindi feature films. He has won the National award for Mani Rathnam’s Bombay and the Karnataka state award for Best Editor many times.
