Stevie has saved a lot of lives with DGK. I bet so many kids would have gone down a different path if they didn't have skating. Helped me for sure.

Nah real freaking talk!!! He gave young black boys/girls hope and expose us to skating. If he could do it, we could as well! That’s love!!!
Growing up while Stevie Williams was killing it, all my homies tried to emulate him on their boards. Legend forever.

this is so inspiring. I always looked up to Stevie, hearing him say he was broke and homeless, that's where I'm at now. I lost my mom to cancer last year and went homeless after that, but still have big dreams with skating and music

5:39 “ Stevie did the trick… and it must’ve tricked something in his head…” haha, I already love Mama Williams.
I’m 33, and Being a black skater from philly I know his struggle. Ppl were quick to judge or get physical just because you’re doing something out of the norm. I’m still pushing till this day, that type of negativity should never stop u from doing what u love. DGK all day.
Having a child, best thing that ever happened in my Life. Skateboarding unified me me with so many vibrant people, fuck stevie... Skateboarding is universal! I'm watching the original DC DVD RIGHT NOW
This video hit my heart, to see what a human can do. He put LOVE into LOVE park and is now creating LOVE park all over the world. God Bless Stevie and his homies for their support.
Such a rad story.. its really awesome that we actually had the opportunity to hang out with him. Remember the subzero contest when the cops lifted up the quarter pipe, and he was like you ain't gonna find oj under there!! Lol

In my era of early to mid 90’s WIlliams had more influence on me and my crew than so many other greats and legends of skateboarding. I cant imagine how many people’s lives he influenced like mine. There was no other story like his in the history of all sports. When I first made it to Philly Love Park and skated it in 99 by way of Cali I fulfilled a dream! Massive respect due Stevie and the Philly crew!
fantastic story, I cried. I met him in 2008 in NY, I was a French tourist looking for the banks and went to watch the river. I saw a crew of skateboarders and a black dude skating on a huge bench. I ask if it was Stevie Williams they say yeah. After that I spoke with Stevie, he was nice to me it was Huge and we take a picture. Thank you mister wialliams.
One of my favorites to skate with. Used to skate with him back at the blocks of usc during his chocolate days and now at the church as a company owner. That shit hit different! GOAT!
when i was 13 and i started skating, stevie was my fav skater. always wanting a DGK board but couldn't afford it. I started skating again after stopping at 17, i'm 26 now. Just got my first DGK deck.
Stevie is a really nice dude too!! Glad to have met him during my days of skateboarding!!
I remember when i first seen Stevie on the video game as a kid that was all i needed to see i may not be pro or trying to make it my career but i still hop on my board and i aint scared to say Stevie Williams inspired that shit #DGKALLDAY
Ordering my board next month can't wait. I'm 41 btw. Stevie you are an inspiration to me. I skated back in 1988 now I'm getting back into it.

Always looked up to you and Kareem. Growing up as a hispanic kid who loved skateboarding I always got laughed at for my choice of gear and skatekicks. There weren't alot of kids of color skating in our city. If it wasn't for you I wouldn't have felt like I had a place in skateboarding.

The era that Josh and Stevie had back in the day literally changed people’s lives including my own. To this day I travel from New York to Philly just to push around and catch the vibe. Everybody talks about this big rivalry between east coast cities but I’ve never felt that type of tension in Philly. I have a love for that city and it was sparked by guys like Josh and Stevie. DGK all day!

This is a beautiful documentary. Skateboarding has achieved a level of solidarity between us rural-to-suburban, poor-to-middle-class white folks, our black brothers and sisters from the city, and everyone in between and around the world, that the politicians can only preach about. It's transcendent in every sense of the word. LOVE.
