DeWALT XR Concrete Nailer HAS A SPECIAL FEATURE! (don't overlook this!) In this video we show the #verycoolgang a overlooked special feature on the new DeWALT 20V MAX XR Cordless Concrete Nailer! We unbox and overview this cordless concrete nailer because we are building some new walls at the shop and needed a new concrete nailer to put some metal track in place on top of concrete. Our old cordless nailer is a Paslode concrete nailer that runs on gas and battery power but keeps on failing or running out of gas. This new concrete nailer from DeWALT is super nice and has a special feature that you don't want to overlook! Let us know your thoughts on this cordless concrete nailer from dewalt in the comments section below.

Finally a great video of an awesome tool and yes it has been around for about 3 years i own one i'm happy with it ... videos like this makes me forget about this awful virus going on
The company I work for has one and I love it! I do commercial HVAC install and DeWalt also offers accessory hardware to use with the pins such as washers and hanger brackets so I can shoot a nail through their washer to hold hanger strap to concrete for hanging duct or I can shoot a nail through one of their hanger brackets and then loop cable through the hole in the bracket to hang duct. It's so much quicker than drilling a hole and then pounding in one of those anchors that looks like a bent nail. I believe they also sell an extension pole so you can use it without climbing a ladder. I would imagine ceiling grid guys could use one for hanging their grid wires as well.
I have had one when they first came out I still use gas more because the power , but it still works good for new concrete, just need better pins
If the plastic sleeve breakdown overtime you’ll end up with a loose nail. That is not perfectly embedded.
My Man VCG ----- I love the way you present your videos . You take charge of the show !!!!! I see myself talking like that to my guys on site and some passing by onlookers....... " Come over here , let me show you how this works " My favorite line lol
The light never flashes red because of Gas, Always battery!!

I appreciate the video! I do contracting in Arvada so I’m glad someone local is using it haha
Really liking these tool review videos on a job. Thanks for good content
Hey Vince, loved the video! I love seeing you on site testing the tools. Keep up the great work!
Must have! Love my Dewalt Framing nailer and Dewalt Brad nailer.
Pretty impressive to be honest. Cordless power tools have come so far, I remember when I got into the trades all we had to use was the old Makita long handle 12 volt drills that would get so hot one couldn’t use it and u better have had 15-20 batteries on hand 😂.
Just got crete nailer. Awesome tools. Forget shot n pins!!! Doing 2000 lin ft of 16 ga framing. Its a dream!
Perfect embedment ? It was sticking half of an inch out 😂

I was wondering the same thing...You gotta hit each one after to get it flush?
Nice design with the back extension which keeps it level.
Until now - i did not know DeWalt had a non-gas nailer and if it works better than the gas or powder types then the better.Best review yet.
That's is sweet I like the no gas part it's like the new nail guns no air hose and compressor to deal with and the noise is even better used to have the gun news the different color shots put each Dale in individually one of the time and then press down where you want to shoot and what did everybody do look away and pull the trigger this way so much safer you look at what you're shooting and very quiet
Thank you for the video Vince, that's an awesome gun, hope it gives you many years of service
the one i keep going to for these applications is the hilti bx2 and 3, they are alot quieter and they don't seem to get the same blowout that we usually get with the gas versions.
I dig it. I was using a blue powder-actuated tool from Lowes that was $200. As a cntractor, I can see the savings on that tool, especially to the ears!!. cool video guys
Rock on DeWalt .....I have all Dewalt its an awesome platform ...Carpenter from Australia
I would love to have the DeWalt tool to add to my DeWalts, but I'm past that point in my life. 36 years ago I first used the old orange handle Remington nailer with a big ball-peen hammer to set the charge off. We rented a 7,500 sq. ft. first-floor space, cleared the old walls, and built 11+ foot high walls with steel studs. I'd never used steel studding before nor had I used the Remington nailer. They both worked like a charm! I switched to DeWalt tools with almost all tools, starting when DeWalt brought out their 4 1/2-inch handheld grinders. I think they were a new brand then. I still have the grinders, still working! Yes, I added more DeWalt grinders to those for faster usage of whatever is needed but the original grinders are tops for endurance. Purchased in the early 1990s. Amazing, there's been almost no maintenance done, always used in a commercial art foundry. Boss!
Yo fellas! That seems like an fun big boy toy. That thing is sweet! Great vid gentlemen! Stay safe and have a wonderful rest of the week. See you at ttr!!!

big toy famous amos
We use the hilti fast track and we get 1200 shots per gas tank andbit doesn’t use battery. I love it but this looks pretty dope too
I'm so bummed today😣. I forgot to close my truck bed gate last night, and went to work this morning without realizing it was still open. Sadly 2 tough system boxes with ALL my DeWalt power tools and batteries fell out along the way. I'm mad at myself for letting that happen but so sad because you work hard and invest into your toys (tools). I know with time, I'll be able to eventually buy these things again.... Its just depressing😔. Just wanted to vent with fellow tool junkies! Hope y'all have a good rest of your day.

I feel your pain man! I lost a couple stuff due to open tailgate also. Pickups should have a warning light for open tailgate IMO. Also a good idea to secure the boxes with a bungee cord at least for the bad cases like that...

Same shit happened to me 16 yrs ago with a brand new paslode cordless framer and new circular saw.shit sucks
Hey just a story I was told here in Denver by a Dewalt rep, he had a guy buying up a ton of the 2 1/4 nails, so he asked him what he was doing. The guy said he was nailing together SUPER hard woods and nothing he could find could do it except this gun. Interesting solution!
The best concrete nailers are Hilti and Spit, these run with gas and battery.
Off subject, but I received my first VCG T-shirt yesterday...embroidered logo...very classy. Way to bring it VCG!

Use the 1/2 inch for steel there black strips not yellow they work better, I've shot down 1000s of ft of c channel for shaft wall at condo separation WALLS. That gun is AWSOME and is another reason I'm a Dewalt guy they are truly the company of inovation.

i got this 2 days ago. I have used it to roughly run 300 pieces of hat channel and around 5000 ft of track. Decent tool beats the ram set and paslode any day of the week

can u fit another brands of pins??
Looks like the very short nails are having difficulty going into the tough "old cured" concrete. Not sure how it will work with structural steel either if its having difficulty with the concrete. I'm on full Dewalt ecosystem, but I think more R&D is required on this product, will have to wait it out for the second revised version. Not quite there yet.

There are special hardened nails that you have to use when punching into steel or toughened concrete. They are marked with a black colour. These yellow ones are standard nails
You can definitely he has to tell people how to do things the right way on the job alot 🤣🤣
@ VCG construction There are 4 new XR Dewalt tools coming out with power detect technology. A circ saw, a new Sawzall, 5 inch angle grinder, and hammer drill!
That looks like a beast cuz, gotta do some specs on it when ya can.
Great demo, as usual, Vince!! Would like to see a follow up video of how the Dewalt pinner works on steel to steel. Can't wait!!

😎Great video! 🔥I loved it! The Chimney Boys approve👍🏻
Nice gun Vince, I still use an old Hilti 27 caliber 10 shot concrete gun. The worst part about that gun is the pressure it puts on your wrist every time you shoot it. The new Dewalt gun looked like it didn't hurt every time you shot it. Thanks for the Video brother.

yes and yes sir
dudes the phill swift of Dewalt over here. awesome man
i didn't know dewalt made one of those...for now ill stick with hilti gas+battery (the battery last weeks and you can always check before using it in the morning at what level you are if gas or battery are low u can bring a spare with you or switch the battery), i like how the pins don't stick out its much faster to stand the studs after when no pins hook on the studs!
Keep up the great work! 👍🧰👍
Hey vince just want to thank you for your opinion on drill driver bit sets. I picked up the Milwaukee shockwave impact duty set for 29 buck from home depot when it was on sale on line. 15 piece drill set and 45 piece driver set. Thanks again keep up all the hard work you do for us.

@@VCGConstruction its a shame they aren't real tradies and have no clue what tradies care about in a tool
I been using a Ram-Set for years. It is cheap and easy to use... But this seems so much faster, so I guess it is time to upgrade.
INCREDIBLE DEVICE! NO MORE GUNPOWDER!
I don't use them enough to buy But so sweet and quiet!
Nothing beats the BX3
Hilti has one too. Called the BX3. Insanely powerful nail gun. But you gonna pay a good amount of money for it.
Awesome tool!
It’s a great tool I have 3 of these and they work great
Dude you are a character bro, I like you man - keep up the vids
@VCG Construction what's your favorite/default company for cordless power tools?
First time I seen that one I've always use my Hilti bx-3 it's loud I can't even hear myself think after using it
It looks like a pretty good tool but how versatile is it trying to fit it into small places in holding it above your head for so long
Vince after opening box "here's the instruction manual, you're going to want to read this fully......." Chucks it in the corner ( like me) , plays with new toy.

When is the Milwaukee M18 21degree Framing Nailer coming out!!?
Impressive! Someone knows if there's a model specific for finish trim work! Wood wood... smaller than this and nailing sizes of 2... 1.5 and 1 inch!?
waitning for review of milwaukee riviet gun, looks compact and cool
Test the HILTI. Just ordered one and I'm very excited about it.
Got 2 of my TrakFast guns for FREE with purchase of 10 boxes of nails per gun. Keeping my tried and true TrakFast guns but great video!
*4:47* *ahhaahha You are the man loved the review I felt like you where sincere good stuff man :) good looks bro !*
Good video very informative I’ve replaced all my gas operated guns to Dewalt I didn’t know they had a concrete nailer as well thank you I’m definitely grabbing one
Hilti been had Solution for that in past 30 years. And best pin nailer is Hilti GX120 or GX3 along with DX460 and DX351 for super dutty application.I own all 4 of these Hilti Nailers. Hilti All day,Every day 👊👊🤙🤙

Hilti 1,000 nails $190.00 Dewalt 1,000 nails $90.00 Hilti is a great product, but when youve got a couple thousand L/F of wall it adds up. Also, Hilti just decided to quit making gas for the 100 which pisses me off. Looking at $15,000.00 worth of unusable tools sucks.
Good music to keep ppl alert
Bad ass!! DeWALT loves to make our lives easier..💪🏼

I am a dewalt man but Hilti smokes it in this department.
Nothing beats the powder actuated nailer
Nice tool. Tnks
I like it but...... getting back to Dewalt platform again, not sure I want to go that route happy with Milwaukee 👍👍👍👍
If I would want nail in a 2x4 would it work for that? If 2x4 is flat you said it does 2 1/4 max . That would be what 1/2 into concrete?
Dude your awesome!!
Ya know I’m a full out Ridgid guy I love their tools I’ve prolly got 14 or more Ridgid tools but god damn dewalt makes it all I mean literally they have every tool for every job thinkable
Love your channel. Respect the beard
Thanks for not screaming, "what's up" in this video.
Me also... 12 years ago i pay a fortune for these tools... Great video
I wouldve liked to see you try n use longer nails to try and get a 2x4 in the concrete and i think i read that nailer shoots 2 1/4 max? Idk if 3/4 into the concrete is enough with that especially if they stick out the top a little bit. I usually use at least 2 1/2 tapcons wich takes forever. Cool gun though very interesting
@gillion2700
2 жыл бұрын
2 1/2 maybe 3 inch would be a perfect gun for the 2x4
Would it work on Carpet tack strips in old concrete?
I WAS GOING TO BUY ONE OF THESE. BUT THEN I SAW THIS VIDEO.
I would like to see how it works with steel. I have one and it has problems with brick wall. Too weak for me.
Not sure about this one yet not enough people HAVEN'T used it.was very quiet.did sink pin all the way in floor. I'm use too ram set guns! Wonder how heavy it was too use.price was high for me ran us cheap in electric field put a lot of 1/2 3/4 1 strap in concrete !looks like they fixed the blow out of the concrete that happens.I too see one in action for my self.I would think about buying one if price came down!
Hilti BX3 has been doing this for 3 years.
@benjaminsaturday8300

dewalts pins are half the price of hiltis pins, the gun is close to 25% the cost of hilti.
What do you use when fastening down 2x4’s
Looks like it's more productive than powder actuated. My powder actuated driver just kicks my wrist. It was painful to frame my basement with it. Nice tool from Dewalt.
@burn1down249
4 жыл бұрын
Michael Arnold you need gas actuated, I have a global fastening systems concrete nailer and it has copped a caning on a regular basis putting down smooth edge
Wondering Vince, after you used this tool for a while; did you notice any flagging at all, or other issues that might “drive you crazy” (don’t necessarily count jams as an issue.....unless it’s a constant thing; since a nailer/pinner will jam every so often)? As I don’t like the “fly wheel” system DeWalt’s using on their Nailers/Pinners; I do like the way it’s easy to clear a jam. Most times, flipping lever on top does the trick, but if have to get “into” the tool.....still pretty easy. Even w/ the fly wheel spinning, the ramp up is not that bad on the nailers etc... But what nice today, everyone can choose their “flavor” (‘cept for Milwaukee framing nailers, that is😏😆). Great to see VCG keeping at making vids, & wouldn’t be the same if they had to stop; as w/ all the KZreadr out there. Thx Guys, see ya on next one 🤜🏻🤛🏼

Milwaukee's framer is supposed to come out soon it looks pretty ba
would you try it with XR 8Ah battery and see if it will be better... The XR 7 1/4 circular saw perform the best with that battery (way better than the Flexvolt 9Ah or the XR 5Ah)...
will this attach say 3/4 thick wood to cinder blocks ? thanks.
I love these unboxing video
Like that the magazine comes off
this tool is nice but in Metal stud framing we use hilti gun gx3 gas and for steel dx 351 hilti
Does it come with a magnetic tip like track fast
would you have concrete nailer between hilti bx3 and dewalt dcn890
Can you use any ccn pins or they have to be dewalt branded?
U do know what one goes first at least on the paslode in your hand if the light is blink green red it’s and indicated that u have X amount of battery life to do x amount of nails if it was the fuel it was just not fire would not matter if the battery was full or dying would not fire with out the gas so u would know it’s the gas when it the battery u see the light when it dying it blinks at least with paslode u may be correct but should have not had a paslode in your hand DeWalt is my favorite brand but does not measure up to a paslode but the are different in design and power sources
Tool looks great! But can you post a link for you knife?
Beast mode 💪
Love the knife.
Off topic but is there a reason you don't tie your corners together on the tracks?
I use ridgids version, never had a jam with it , and i run a flooring company
Ive been hanging duct for 5 years now and never seen the stud guys use cocking 🤔.. either I never noticed or they’ve been doing it wrong?
