Milwaukee walked this one.! The button to turn the light on is exactly where it should be. It also has a better fitment on my hand. And all the stuff numbers on the back are really useful if you know how to use it.

I picked up the DeWalt led tape measure yesterday, after watching your video I returned the DeWalt and picked up the Milwaukee. Great improvement over the DeWalt, your right about the led switch it could be alot easier to activate.

I just started my plumbing apprenticeship and dont have too much experience, but since iv started I have been carrying a tape measure around everyday and there are countless times when my "boss" has asked me if I grabbed a flash light and we both forgot one. Today I bought the Milwaukee and I know its going to come in handy when we are up in ceilings measuring pipe and neglected to grab a light.

God dammit I have to buy another tape on top of the 50 taps I already have! It’s an addiction. Let me tell you.

LED aside, Milwaukee tapes are terrible. Any idea on the run time in between charging? Milwaukee tape is night and day difference from the Dewalt. Still not bad for under $40

I tried one Milwaukee tape and didn’t like the belt hook and I felt the tape itself was thinner and didn’t have the reach of a Fatmax… that was enough for me to put it in a shop drawer and forget I had it..

@@toolman101476 I know what you mean. I did use Hultafors tapes before, but I don't like the tip of that tape (it bends so easily), but I do love the quick release belt hook they have. So after I changed to Milwaukee tapes, I just 3D printed my own "clip" who I attached to the Milwaukee tapes, and now they fit right into the Hultafors belt clip :D

@@toolman101476 I just don't see any purpose for a flashlight stuck to a tape measure. Other than to separate gadget freaks from their money.

@@chrisose I used to trim production houses… so no power in them. Some of the master bathrooms would have no windows which made them pretty dark and they’d also have big walk in closets that were even darker. That would be the only time having a tape light would be beneficial… those situations don’t happen a lot though. It’s definitely in the gadget realm for sure.

@@toolman101476 Would you really use either of these as a primary work light when there are so many options these days for compact cordless lights that will fill a room with light and allow you to work safely?

@@chrisose No I wouldn’t use it as a primary light. What I’m getting at in the video is I’ve had situations where I need a light for just a minute and I don’t want to go out to the van to get a light. In those cases I’ll use my cellphone… this tape would just be another option. Most of the houses were in are 95% lighted. I don’t care to bring a light for the few closets or bathrooms I need to work in. It’s just one more thing to get out and put back up. Unless you do this particular work. You’ll probably never run into a situation like that at least not enough times to see any real value in a lighted tape. Thanks for watching and commenting! I like hearing other’s opinions even if they differ from mine.

The Milwaukee is too bright it has an annoying front beam, which is why I use mag lights they give a perfect beam I have other flashlight that are much brighter, better used for spotlighting when working up close for work too bright
