This is an induction motor, not a universal motor. Induction motors do not have brushes. Drills, grinders, etc have universal motors and you can see the sparks from the brushes in some of the tools.

Steve, this is just the video I was hoping to find on here. Where did you source your bearings from? Also, do you happen to have a line on any other spare parts? I'm after a key switch (on the arm). Great, stuff. Thanks for this!

Is it possible to repack the bearings or are they sealed up pretty good?

the are a sealed unit,, they are readily available at a low cost,,,

is the person in this video who changed the bearings, still active on this channel? i followed his instruction but I can not get the bearing to seat in the motor housing cap. This is preventing complete closing the motor housing. Assistance would be greatly appreciated. Keith

yes I are,, do you have some dial calipers to check the sizing?? mine went in pretty easily,, check for bumps or deformations on the housing,,
