Amen....52.... found Devin thru Dream Theater, Animals as Leaders.. doing interview with Rick Beato.... Devin is refreshing to say the least. LOVE'EM! And Anneke is sooo very easy to watch move..

So hard to believe that Anneke was performing her second show that night. She had a gig with her own band earlier. Remarkable.

Why? When I was studying music in college we used to do 6 shows a day. Two in the morning, 2 in the afternoon and 2 in the evening. This went on for 6 months. It would have went on through the summer holidays too, if we agreed to it.

@@mixodorians12 Merely doing two shows in a day is not the issue. I bet virtually all house bands do that. I am talking about touring with one group doing a particular genre of music doing a show then being asked to travel to a different venue to perform with another band playing a whole different genre of music without having had the benefit of rehearsals etc with the second band. (because the performer was on tour with band #1 at the time.) Devy's stuff is complex at the best of times and technologically challenging to perform. To be able to do that show - basically cold?....

being metalhead for almost 10 years and getting to know Devin´s music just now makes want to regret those 10 years of listening to all kinds of metal subgenres trying to find what fits me most, because he has it all, it is heavy, powerful, it has energy, tons of varieties, vocals are insane, like how the f**k could i miss this??

I think Devin should do a collab with Epica, or at least with Simone.

For people who are upset about Anneke being back in the mix, Devin said there was a problem during the show where her mic was picking up the cymbals in a bad way. For this DVD release he had to mix them out of her vocals which is a fucking nightmare of a process and I personally think he did about as good a job as anyone would've. I'm sure Dev would have her vocals mixed higher than his if he had his way.

Devin and Anneke are simply perfection.

Fantastic thumping anthem of a song..and boy can Devin chime..puts all those other so called front men to shame . he is the man, he loves performing and give it the beans every time, magic...

At this point I don't even think it's healthy, the amount of times I watch Devin's live shows in rotation.

Anneke's dancing in this performance makes me feel things

No matter how many times I listen to the Retinal Circus...every time...something inspires this 58 year old man....when I play this album for my friends that are my age they are totally mesmerized (blown away) by the artistry of this magnificent composer and the musical talent he associates himself with.....Anneke Van Giersbergen is a treasure !!

+D Rock Hi Thank you for the post. I adore Devy, even saw him briefly in Toronto last year (was trying to find my son and the security guards let me in. Devy had just ripped into Kingdom and i nearly fell over, since it is among my top 10 DT tunes). Treatments have changed to something else and we are waiting to see if they have any effect. Putting up a new vid soon And yep, this old hippie shall walk on home, boy ;-)

I am convinced that Devin Townsend could be a cult leader after seeing this. I don't mean that in a negative way, either. This whole song/performance was just mesmerizing! Saw him years ago w/ SYL, that was an awesome concert, but that was nothing compared to this.
