Actually Devin is not that useful. But something like Devin will replace many human workers in all fields in future.

It cannot replace software Engineers directly. It will reduce the count but not replace. Human consciousness is very complex and needed to solve software problem. It's not just providing solutions code to problem. It requires thinking beyond tech and considering business, product and company perspective.

Whenever it is said that something is going to eradicate human jobs, doesn't mean it will kill 100% jobs. It means it will reduce the domain strength upto 95%. Current software workforce in Indian IT industry is estimated to be 1 Cr. Imagine any AI device which will eliminate 95% of programming jobs. It means it will reduce jobs to 5 lac only. Isn't it worth worrying about those 95% who will be forced to leave jobs or even compelled to leave the software domain only. It will contribute to already existing severe unemployment issue not just in India but around the globe. It's not easy for anyone who trained for gaining any particular skill for years and suddenly faces a situation where this years' of investment goes in vain and will have to learn totally different skill that too in minimum time so that earnings can be achieved. Human greed bends any technology more on bane side and very less on boon side.

My company's code base is bigger then devins context window also in demo it took 2hours to do a problem people who know the codebase of there companies can do it better and in places where innovation is needed for example frontend and docker outof box thinking is required this will not work , Nowdays News is just hype trains nothing valuable 😅😅😅😅
