Man everything he says is so real, I am a convert muslim, by the mercy and grace of Allah (swt) I became a Muslim, Allahmdulillah :) and just few after my conversion, I lost all interest in watching TV and Music and stuff, I spend more time praying and at Mosque and living my life off the rules of Holy Qura'n, It is like Allah (swt) took it all away from my heart. I've noticed this as well, I wasn't a practicing Muslim but then all of a sudden, I just lost interest in entertainment all together and Alhumdulillah have maintained the Salah ever since. It's like literally one day I was drowned in all sorts of bad things and the next day it felt like a switch just went off. I can't explain it properly but I sort of detest music now, although I used to be a musician and an avid fan of music. I had also been smoking for the last 14 years and from that day I haven't smoked a single one. Subhan Allah, Whosoever He wills,He (SWT) guides. It's like there's a thirst for knowledge now within me, I pray to Allah that He keeps me this way and not make me go back to my old ways, Ameen.

Alhamdulillah, I have a TV at home but is only on when my husband come home from work after weeks..Have hulu and Netflix but Alhamdulillah may Allah increase in us all, I feel like am wasting my time if I turn the TV on..And if I ever do, I go to KZread and listen to Islamic Lectures. That's it...Because I don't want to end up asking Allah to take me to the Dunya to do more good deeds which will actually never happen

You are so true about video gaming. I stopped offering salah regularly in 2012 due to addiction of gaming. It took 5 years for me to start regularly offering salah again in 2017. Even then my addiction to gaming was hampering practising islam. Once i played Rome 2 whole night and the next day due to headache, i was forced not to go to the congregation of Dhuhr prayer. I swore by Allah that day that i will never play game on my desktop computer again. Even today, i sometimes feel like playing games, but that oath keeps me back. This reminder will help me a great deal. May Allah be pleased with you, Brother Yousuf.

When I was a kid in the 1980s and ‘90s, there were a few people talking about this stuff, but most people dismissed them as old cranks. Nowadays though more and more people are realizing that wise men like Yusuf are correct.

I'm not a muslim but a christian with an esoteric background but I agree with this honourable man and his visions! He is a wise soul and I came to the same conclusions, studying other religious books and sources. For me, Sufism represents the real Islam because it works on the inner soul and levels of the spirit to become one with God. Peace brother!

Light tube Sufism is more of Marifat than Shariah. Rasul (PBUH) didn't teach us directly Marifat. because this path is not for everyone. And when you master Shariah your level goes up to Tarikat, striving in Tarikat you may reach on Marifat, and if Allah wills you will reach up to Hakikat. and that's the highest knowledge human can achieve. beloved Muhammad (PBUH) only taught some of his Ilm to Ali (RA). and all the real Sufis in Islam came from the lineage of Ali (RA) and Fatima (RA) though Hasan (RA) and Hussain (RA). We are better with Sariah and we should seek more knowledge about our deen to mark the false sufis. but to neglect the other Sufis you might become Gafil (May Allah Protect you). On the other hand Shiaism is completely deviant. I don't have to say anything about them. As Imam Malik said "Don't even talk to them (Shias)." Zajakallah.

S Hossain Tushar Indeed real Sufism isnt' a path for everyone, same in christianity : Jesus taught inner teachings to his beloved discipels John and Mary Magdalena that others wouldn't understand and these teachings had to go underground because of heavily prosecution of the official catholic church throughout its existence. Only The wise recognise eachother in eternal truths brought by their heavenly prophets. He who fought his own wars within, becomes holy, he who thinks he has to kill others in The name of a religion is deluded by Shatan. Peace be with you Brother!

MrSparklespring I agree with you brother. the best followers of Isa (AH) were oppressed by the Catholics after Roman Romanized Christianity. for Example history of 25th December, they made it birthday of beloved Isa (AH) (Theres's no historic evidence) because it was the birth date of their sun god. As you have seen the video you might came across some Prophecies of Beloved Muhammad (PBUH) that all of them came true these days and as Muslims we believe in the second coming of Isa (AH) for killing Anti-Christ ( Dajjal). Only Isa (AH) can kill Dajjal by the will of Allah. The prophecies have pin pointed the landing place of Isa (AH), his Dress color, his hair, the killing place of Dajjal! Not only that, How he will lead the the people on earth once again under the Abrahamic Religion Islam. Isn't it amazing just to think of it. I remember first watching this lecture a few days after it was posted on KZread. It was September 2014 and at the time, I was living in a hostel in Clapham, a very nice part of South West London. The impact of what sheikh Hamza mentioned was so strong, that I couldn't sleep later that night in 2014. Yes, it was as if I watched a horror movie - but based on hidden facts and truth. Fast forward nearly 9 years latet and after so much time trying to find the video, Alhamdulillah I am watching it again. In my studio flat. In South London.

4 years later, Zayn left Islam and it stired the industry especially his fans. So it's true, Zayn is one of the minions.

Very good lecture, I'm a Christian but what the speaker says is relevant to all faiths. I was surprised he didn't receive a round of applause when he finished in appreciation, can anyone explain why he didn't. God Bless.

Simon O'Conor from what i understand, clapping is considered an action of an unlettered/uneducated/ignorant people. So when listening to a lecture or a Qur'anic recitation or otherwise, the listeners will listen quietly. If there is something that they really appreciate, they will say praises to God instead, for example, "God is Great", or "Praise be to God", etc. Much like clapping. In religious presentations, clapping is generally a big "no-no". I hope this helps.

The clapping part may be due to the custom of the people. In some of his presentations, people clap to show appreciation.

All good religious ppl should listen to this.

Once every couple of years I return to watching this lecture. As a reminder. And remembrance benefits the believer.

SUCH AN EYE OPENING LECTURE I just wanted to watch ONLY 10-15 minutes of it but took me all the way to the end. Tnx for sharing.

I’ve listened to this lecture probably a thousand times and every time feels like the first. Every single aspect of this lecture was eye opening and really makes you ponder about everything we were exposed to as a young child. One of my favorite lecture by Sheikh Yusuf

Shaykh Hamza Yusuf is quite a passionate speaker. I think he really has valid points and I agree our music, movie and food industry has gone over the deep end.

I haven't seen a lecture on this subject by the sheikh in 15 years. I'm glad he is still pointing these things.

That kafr LaVey spent his whole life on worshipping Shaytaan, dedicating his life for his sake. And so LaVey is now residing in Hellfire for eternity. Such is the destination for those who dedicate their lives for Shaytaan and disobey Allah. GudMuzlim786 of course, the whole reason Satan wants humans to worship him is because Satan hates humans and it's an ironic joke for him. Allah commanded him to prostrate to Adam and he refused, so the best way to get Adams children back is to have them prostrate to him and at the same time get sentenced to hell for eternity. Since he is already going to hell he is simply trying to take as many human beings and jinn with him as possible. Any idiot that believes his lies and worships him will be for a rude awakening on the day of judgment in which Satan himself will say " la illaha ila Allah" and that he has nothing to do with the people that followed him, they made their own choice and that he promised them nothing but lies and Allah promised them the truth.

Ask some people: why they move when they're listening to music? I haven't come across someone who tells me rationally why he or she makes the movement. "I'm dancing." is the reply!

Axmed Bahjad - if the song has an upbeat beat or tune it inspires me to dance, if the lyrics are fun, outgoing, and optimistic that puts me in a good mood and makes me want to move/dance.

Subuhanallah, such a wonderful lecture. This is an eyes opener for everyone, may Almighty Allah protect us from the worst and the worst creation.

One of the best videos.. I heard the Prophet S.a.w.s would spend 1/3 of his time at home for Allah s.w.t., 1/3 with family and a 1/3 for himself.. so I thought maybe I could balance playing online games with with life after stopping myself from playing from fear would distract me from my deen.. but I think what the Shaykh was saying is that the game would be just the first step from the Shaytan.. and that slowly you will get sucked in..

Praise be to Allah, the Most Merciful, that has guided me when others went astray and that protected me when others went unprotected. Brothers & sisters, in our time are the greatest fitnas that human have yet witnessed, it will be greater, but don't despair in the mercy of Allah, go towards him and he'll run towards you. It does not matter if your sins reach the skies, he will forgive if you are sincere in your pardon. I remember when we were children, everyone was listening to music and watching popular tv series and that later came to include a lot of sexual content and this will only become greater. Make sure to protect your family from this fitnas, it is the destroyer of lives. I can't thank Allah enough that he has placed the Quran in my heart instead of music. You should turn away from it aswell and ever great is Allah's reward for those who do good. Are you as anxious towards seeing Allah the Most Gracious as I am?

You should listen to bands like blind guardians and such The songs remind you of the final fight between imam mahdi and isa with dajjal and his followers

I been watching this video since 1999..and hamza yusuf videos. Everytime am in crisis. It give me explanation what's going on..because live is day by day struggle. Sometimes you make the wrong turn .

Indeed you have enlightened many Sheikh. May Allah (swt) protect the believers in these dark times and allow them to live and die in Taqwa.

I am not religious and I can see what's wrong with the entertainment industry. It's propaganda machine with agenda. You should at least know this and be aware of anything anyone tells you including preachers off course.

Brother Yusef that is one of the best lectures I have seen in a long time ,I am extremlly impressed on your ability to use examples and facts that are ocouring in our life as we speak and link them to the Quaran. You have given me much to think about keep up the good work

Hamzah Yusuf he is last of the beautiful representatives of islam, he sees islam as it is and non of this salafi and sufi nonsense, he preaches unity and love and the truth. wallah I wish more scholars were like this man, he repsents islam better all other muslim scholars.!

Me watching this at 2023 it’s absolutely mind blowing to see how the industry’s going may allah bless us we are in a right way so they do what they wanna do but we should be careful about our kids allah akbar ☝️

An excellent talk and a great reminder on how times are changing for the worse. Video game violence and pornography are two of the biggest threats to society. The Internet has no watershed and isn't monitored like TV. Many parents are neglecting their children hence many are influenced by dark influences found online.

Indeed An Eye Opener Lecture!! I hope everyone listens to this lecture atleast once in their life. . . Great for teens, adults and new or to be Mom and Dads.
