Devialet Phantom Gold Repairs

This speaker is totally repairable! Devialet wants €1200 (excluding shipping, which is expensive - this thing weighs 11kg) to repair or replace this speaker. It is "not repairable" according to Devialet, because it would compromise its "Hermeticity". This is NOT true, watch my video, I can prove it.

Thank you. I have done the same. Dropped it from a low height. But damaged the same cap centre. I’m going to take it apart, like you showed. And take it from there. Thank you for a great video. And time taken

What about the missing cap on one side of the speaker driver? is there anything that can be done to fix that?

Hi! I have one that was dropped and has physical damage to one of the woofers. Any idea where I can get a replacement woofer? I tried e-bay with no luck. Thanks!

This is something your house insurence covers. In Sweden it does

What do you stick the subwoofer cap back on with?

I don't think the woofers are wired in series rather the system performs a self check and if it notices open or short curcuit on one of the woofers outputs it shuts off the whole output stage

Yeah, they are not wired in series. Devialet always has a dedicated output for their drivers. So it is just like you said that it performs a self check.

I can confirm they have a self check, they will make a small pop sound every few seconds and cannot play any sound until all speakers are present.

Hey Ian Rose. I just saw your video that you openned on one side. Mine, there's a knocking on that side when I turned the volume up. Sometimes it will stop then comes back and also the loud knocking, sometimes it wont. Thank you for showing because Id like to open mine but do you have any idea on my case so that maybe I could go directly, with your advice? Thank you in advance. Dennis

Very late answer but here's the answer, knocking means one of the coils of your woofers is rubbing against the woofer's magnet. Most likely your dome is slightly dented.

The tweeter cover sticks on magnetically. It seems quite strong that you feel it is glued but it is not.

I'm disappointed to see this side of Devialet. Now, I'm not surprised that it is own by LVMH (Louis Vuitton) whose only goal is to sell weirdest sh*t as a fashion statement at the most ridiculous prices, they don't give a damn about repairability and much less about getting the repairs done in as less as possible.

They also advertise it as a 3,000 - 4,000 watt unit. In no way is that thing pushing that much power which requires a relatively THICK power cable and/or a beefy power supply.
