I knew about the alternate cutscene, but now that I'm watching this, I can't believe I've never tried finding all rock carvings before meeting Francis Sinclair for the first time!

I tried this a year ago. You can’t actually “inspect” all of the rock carvings before meeting him. It will only allow you to inspect 9/10 carvings. It will let you collect that last rock carving after speaking to Sinclair

Guess what? I tried and here's how it went You can't find all rock carvings before you meet him, the final one won't just let you register it you got to meet him first Sorry for bursting your bubble fellah

I found no rock carvings on my first playthrough, but at my second I found one, while beaverhunting at Lake Owanjila. Shortly after that I went to him. I never found all rock carvings.

Did you not know Arthur has a journal? You can check it any time by pressing J on PC and I think down on the d-pad elsewhere but I'm not sure about that.

In theory, you should be able to find them all as Arthur before meeting Francis Sinclair because all the carvings are located in Ambarino, New Hanover, and West Elizabeth. I don't know if there's a special cutscene if you manage to do that, but maybe Player_7 knows or can make a video about it...

You can collect only almost all things for collections and the last one will be always impossible to interact with before you talk to the npc that wants that collection

You cant find all of them before meeting him... I have tried that. You can find 9 carvings, but when you go the 10th, you just cant examine it. The carving will be there, but you cant do anything to it.
