Devasahayam Mount is a Christian Pilgrimage center located at Aralvaimozhi in Kanyakumari District of Tamilnadu. It is situated on the Nagercoil - Thirunelveli highway in Tamilnadu. Devasahayam Pillai, who was born a Hindu in Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu and converted to Christianity in the 18th century, became the first Indian layman to be declared a saint by the Vatican. On January 14, 1752, Devasahayam was shot dead in the Aralvaimozhy forest after 3 years of intense torture and imprisonment, his crime being, his conversion to Christianity.
