Rewatching the end of Return of BTN is as much a timeless entertainment piece as it is a weekly recap of counter strike news and punditry.

Heavygod could replace one of the underwhelming riflers on NAVI and inch them closer to trophy contention, Liquid also super solid pick due to reasons already mentioned.

I have something along the same lines of Device, stress induced abdominal pain (i forget the actual name) - but the research shows that as you get older this type of thing starts to subside. I wonder if he had much of this as a kid, or if it started from being a CS Pro. For me, it started as a kid, and as i'm mid 20s im not affected as much. This doesn't happen to everyone, we're all different ofc, but it shouldn't be an issue like it used to be an issue. Also eating certain types of food can help stop this from happening, there's a lot of strong research connecting the brain to the gut, and how both can have a big affect on each other.

22:37 (tldr, mongolz is actually an org, but what kassad said is correct) Sticker money helped Mongolz to become an actual org, now they have Mobile Legends and Valorant team. They have internet cafe too (probably have better PCs than any RMR), which will help them stay as an org. Obviously they can't buy spots for events, not that big for that. I heard some players of Mongolz CS team owns portion of the org, but i might be wrong

I agree the format for the major AND the RMRs is so scuffed and I hate it. This may be because I’m a huge ATP tennis fan but I think in 2025 when valve gets rid of partnered teams the format should go to single elimination bracket style BO5. That way there’s no doubt that the best teams will make it to the end. To win you will need: - the deepest map pool - the most consistency over many maps and matches - the most consistency under the pressure of losing and you’re out - seeding actually matters and will make sense - maybe not at the first one but for sure after that I’m not sure if any better way to get the best teams out of these tournaments. Maybe you could go BO3 but I think these guys are capable of BO5 as tennis players do at max 7 matches to win a Grand Slam 4x a year and the majors are Counter Strikes Grand Slam and are only x2 a year

Maui hit it, I was too early to comment XD The only thing that was maybe forgotten about the 60% Liquid roster take is skullz is needed to keep em an American org and not EU. The Nertz for Yekindar makes sense and was a big miss. And I agree, 600k for skullz is insanity - not that he's a bad player but 600k is just silly. The question is, if they didn't get skullz what Americas player would be better for his position? Maybe just a placeholder that saves you the money for the future, hindsight being 20/20 that they missed the major anyway lol

"Fly" from DotA 2 (and HoN) is from Israel and has been competing in tier 1 Dota/HoN since like 2010. That's the only Israeli esports player I know before they started breaking through in the CSGO scene

Because the head to head is not all that matters. Na/Sa teams like Col, Furia, MiBr sometimes beat EU teams that Mongolz hasn't

22:59 - HLTV player ranking is predicated on team success; This Astralis roster would need to be making top placements for device to be top anything. So, very reasonable to think device won't make the top20.

It is sad that this major is gonna be BO1 MR12 with MR15 economy. Even in pugs the economy can snowball and lose you the half, imagine playing a BO1 on nuke/inferno and you lose an anti eco or you dont build the economy early and it gets reset, you lose the game 10 minutes in. Now that a map can be 20-25 minutes the TO's have no argument against BO3's, couple that with GSL and you get less, more important games. I guess people think of GSL as the BO1, stacked groups mess that it ended up being, but it can be so much better now (assuming the seeding isnt shit)

I put all my chips on egos being the reason lineups dont work. The navi team is doing good, and they made a full rebuils.

Kinda disagree with 60% Liquid take with Kassad. If I'm TL, I still give them the chance and see if this roster can overcome the difficulties to make it big. Cadian's teams in the past always tooks their time to ramp up and (i know people hate on Yekindar), but when you have a player THiS good, I'll give him a few more months to see if he returns to his level, considering it's still early days in CS2. Tl:Dr- Liquid can still bounce back and just need more time...

if you look at the timeline, there is a world where liquid coudlve gotten donk on the cheap. and they coudlve use him as t entry and turn naf into an anchor.

@@csCherry i heared on a podcast that before the kato run teams were willing to pay 600-1000k . why it didnt happen idk. But now hes probably worth more than money can buy. But its one of these things now that if spirit doesnt sell him for loads of cash, his contract may run out and he wil,l if certain stuff happens, go for free. Its the classic org gamble now. Can they convince him to resign soonish, will he keep performing or is it smarter to sell him now for 20million or something etc etc.

Kassad’s 60% take is legit. I don’t even think it’s that hot(for a Kassad take). Dev1ce going IGL is one of those gut punches of sadness like the “Shox has a new team. He’s IGL and/or playing with Smithzz.” You just feel a wave of emptiness wash over you, because you know how bad things are about to be.

Finals of a major not being bo5 is allready pretty bad, Its just one day, one series (and a showmatch I guess), why wouldnt they do it? Now consider its MR12, guys, I thoguth we went to MR12 for this exact reason. As Thorin said, at this point the FInals are in risk of being over in like 1 hour and a half, a quick 13-5, 13-6 or whatever. In my opinion this takes out a lot of prestige and excitement out of to the major. Not to mention we are still running the shitty swiss style format. PGL has done it again boys.

Also, don't these guys know that brazilian orgs have really huge buyout clauses. Everyone knows that and have known that for couple years now. They are the most notorious places for having these buyouts.Also , kyxsan was paid 600k, he is doing good but it was only one team just like skullz. i don't get the whole emphasis on 600k thing.

Because kyxsan is an IGL that made the Major playoffs last year and the Major Elim Stage this year and is more valuable than skullz, there are many riflers like or better than skullz out there for cheaper, especially in EU

After the year Zywoo had in 2023, he knows he cannot directly say something bad regarding Zywoo, so he indirectly attacks him, by saying that he is attacking his fans. It is like Zywoo refused to do an interview with him or something. Thorin has a bad obsession with Zywoo. Any time Zywoo fails, he comes out belittling Zywoo, but if his favorites Device/Simple/Niko have a bad tounament, he will defend them.

Mongolz take is lowkey facts. They own FURIA and Liquid hasn't done anything. COL is the only team that has a good argument to be above them. Even then they lost to Mongolz.

My hot take: zont1x is a top5 player right now. Kid is both an entry fragger and an anchor, has a 1.33 opening kill ratio, eye test tells me he's literally the best anchor in the world right now. He's 1.20 vs top10 teams with only a 1.06 K/D ratio, the sheer impact of his kills are unbelievable. What's INSANE is that he actually has terrible aim. He aims like nexa or Xyp9x does, just the most average bodyshots, but his stats are impossibly high for someone playing his roles and positions. Seriously, zont1x has a headshot percentage past 3 months of 35.1% - sh1ro is 35.7%

For reference, my top5 in order are 1 - donk 2 - ZywOo 3 - ropz 4 - frozen 5 - zont1x 6 - sh1ro The only reason I have sh1ro lower than zont1x is because sh1ro is still a one trick pony. He's an incredible CT AWPer, but he literally has more pistol kills than AK kills on Spirit. Look it up, I'm not kidding.

Him being criticized about being a tier 2 player not ready for tier 1 is fair, even though let's be honest here, American RMR is a tier 2 event nowadays, Skullz should be carrying and he is not. When we talk about The Trade in the NFL we talk about how the Cowboys swindled the Vikings for Herschell Walker, we don't criticize Walker for being too expensive on that trade, he had no power over it. @@kutagen Ef has a deep map pool, are great on Vertigo as a punish pick and a Nuke decider would be very close. I obviously wouldn't favor EF over Spirit with a gun to my mouth, but don't sleep.

He no joke looks better than rain in Antwerp or electronic in Stockholm, this kid gets 2 every round, he shuts down 30% of the map by himself. People think that spirit is a weak Vertigo team because donk doesn't drop 2.0 every time but they beat teams like Falcons, CoL and NaVi the last time they played it. You also conveniently left out the "on LAN" part of my comment :^) sorry not sorry, not a hot take, just a bad one.

@@ballertheking1038 I think with how RMR went for Spirit, it's not a one off performance. It's also not about spirit dropping a map or not, it's about the caliber of the players and their capabilities to go off at important moments to win the game. Donk, zontix and chopper entry pack seems to just kill entire teams right now, just watch their demos. Magixx, their arguably 4th best player, is currently 1.11 in rating during the last 3 months, 1.14 on LAN. As for "win the major without dropping a map"- i'd say that isn't even that hot of a take currently, they really do have their shit figured out. We'll see in a couple of days, i guess.

I am fucking sick and tired of listening to Maui slate skullz in every video on every chance he gets this is at least the 6th time I have heard him talk shit now and its starting to sound personal and it’s incredibly unprofessional the way he is talking
