Dev Patel on Lion: Reel Pieces with Annette Insdorf

Dev Patel is best known for his breakthrough performance in Slumdog Millionaire (2008), as well as The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (2011) and The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (2015).
Playing Neal Sampat in Aaron Sorkin's HBO series The Newsroom, he was part of a gifted ensemble cast from 2012-14. He is also the star of The Man Who Knew Infinity - released earlier this year - with Jeremy Irons.
Lion is one of the most anticipated releases of the year, having won the Audience Award at film festivals including Toronto. A boy lost in Calcutta is adopted by a kind couple in Australia (played by Nicole Kidman and David Wenham). As The Hollywood Reporter noted, "A tremendously moving performance from Dev Patel is the resilient soul of Lion, the incredible true story of Saroo Brierley and his tenacious quest to find the family from whom he was separated 25 years earlier."

I can listen to Dev talk all day!
Patel and Kidman are magic in this movie. Of course the little boy stole the show. Lion a beautiful movie.

Since Dante Basco and Dev Patel both live in LA, I bet they both have lots of fun hanging out with each other. Why does Dev have to be so hot?

I am still wondering whether dev has had plastic surgery at some point along the way. Anyhow, his evolution from the times of Slumdog is remarkable. I am in awe of his poetic sensitivity too.

Hasn't anyone heard 🤔 of The Oh Snap Convention 😅? It's a fictional club held by me and my little brother Joseph 😢 and it's also 👌 a shrine dedicated 😀 to 🛌 Dev and all the movies 🎥 and TV 📺 Shows he has starred in. My parents 😅 both hate Dev because they think that he's loco en la cabéza.
Me and my little brother Joseph think that Dev is hot. Our parents hate him. When me and Joseph were both gushing and drooling all over Dev back in 2010, Mommy and Daddy yelled at us to get away from the computer. And Mommy said, "I hate that guy. He's cute, but I hate him." And Daddy said, "look, you crazy kid, I used to be an airbender, but now I'm an arm bender and a leg bender!" And then our little brother Isaiah said, "guys! He's just a kid and he can't hear you." And then when we all saw The Last Airbender in the movie theater, me and Joseph were sitting next to each other and drooling all over Dev. Daddy just looked at him angrily. And when Dev said, "we'll catch him soon, Uncle, then we could think about the pretty girls," me and Joseph both said, "awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!" And then Joseph said, "I bet this guy has like a million girlfriends." And I said, "I hope I'm one of them!" And then after the movie, I said, "move over, Mr. Cartoon Dude, Mr. Movie Dude is so much hotter than you!" And I asked Mommy and Daddy why they would hate such a hot cute nice guy like Dev and Mommy said, "because that kid is on a bad show." And then Joseph said, "what bad show?" And Daddy said, "Skins. He played some stupid little kid named Anwar Kharral." And then Joseph said, "well I don't care. Anwar may just be a stupid little kid, but he's a really cute hot nice sexy person!" Me and Joseph began talking about how hot Dev was. And then, on my 15th birthday, I met M. Night Shyamalan. I asked him how Noah, Nicola, Jackson, and Dev, were all doing. He said that they were all doing good.
