Joke from my wrestling coach Chris: German girls are easy to get a date with but they never show up. I was in Berlin so I walked up to a girl and said Chris -"hey I know we don't know each other to well but how about we meet up later and have a drink at the bar down the road. say about 7"? Girl -"nein" Chris -"Nine? that works for me. see you then". and she never showed up.

Love your way of teaching. I just wish there was a way to turn on English subtitles since there was a few words I didn't understand. Also the German subtitles disappears too quickly to read sometimes, but I see that both these problems are fixed on your website. I will try your service for a month and see how it goes.
I am so happy right now.. I am Portuguese, I have been learning German for 8 months and I just understood everything! I love German, and Germany! :D

Acutally there are normally only 11 digits: three digits for the "area code" (e.g. 0171 or 0157 or 0163) and seven digits for the number (12 34 567). Please note: When calling German numbers from outside of Germany you dial 0049 (for Germany) and then drop the "0" of the area code (e.g. 0049-171-).
@MorganTheCupric By-the-way, among young people and students it´s very common to address each other with the informal "Du" from the beginning. However, if you are not certain, it´s polite (and recommended) to ask (or offer) first, before addressing somebody with the informal version. For example: "Sollen wir uns duzen?" or "Ist es in Ordunung, wenn wir uns duzen?" Traditionally, it´s the older (or in business more senior) person to ask / to offer the informal version - not the junior.
I remember when I watched this video 1 year ago and understood nothing; translated every word 🤣🤣 and couldn't keep up with them (speaking too fast at that time for me) Now I get everything they're saying and now being in Germany I carry on conversations in German

Dear lollandster, thanks a lot. We appreciate your feedback. If it´s going too fast, just rewind and repeat. In addition our website features additional learning tools such as transcript for download /print, glossars, online dictionary and many interactive exercises. By-the-way: repetition is a very effective method for learning. But just consider, that in a real situation you won´t be able to ask people too many times to repeat what you haven´t understood ;-) Have fun!

@MorganTheCupric In general, you are right: there is a formal and a informal way to address people in German. Since this is the first video lesson of a whole German beginner course at LinguaTV.com, this lesson covers the informal version, which is easier to understand for beginners (especially speakers of languages, that know only the informal version ;-).

Oh! Sehr gut!! Dankeschön!!!❤️❤️ Amo Alemanha!! Ich liebe Deutschland
@MarieWhoElse Danke für den Tipp. Wir werden über eine Änderung des Titels nachdenken.
... actually, young (and yound-minded ;-) people (like students in our case) tend to use the informal "du" quite often and fast (without asking "permission" before ;-) ... ! But you´re right: formally correct, you would address someone you don´t know yet with the formal "sie".
This helped me learn German better in two minutes than Duolingo did-
@AlyM37 Can´t you see/hear? ;-P The video shows how the German language is spoken and used by native speakers. You can learn the most important words and phrases for greeting and introducing each other. Isn´t this a fascinating way to learn German (or any language)? It´s easy and entertaining ... try it ! By-the-way: it´s called "audio-visual learning method"
Ach! Das ist ja süß! Ich erinnere mich daran, das erstmal dass ich dieses Video geguckt habe. Damals könnte ich fast kein Wort auf Deutsch verstehen.

-> correct: "Ich versuche deutsch zu lernen." For beginners it´s quite difficult to work with the expression "I try to do something" (= "Ich versuche etwas zu tun"), therefor you can also say "Ich lerne deutsch" (= I learn German").
I watched this a year ago when I started to learn Deutsche and I didn't understand anything in this video... Now I can understand the conversation in this video...
