Cloud Computing: Renewing Our Vision
Cloud Computing…accessing your data from anywhere via web brower, mobile computing, and other methods and being able to share the data with others instantly. Instead of the traditional buying and maintaining dedicated servers…they go to a shared cloud infrastructure with hosted servers and pay-as-you go model for what you are using. Advantages include cutting costs, scale-ability and enabling them to focus on their core business.
Cloud Computing God’s Way…When God wants us to do something, He sends His Spirit ahead of us…it goes ahead of us to show us where to go. Just as the Israelites did, we should follow the Spirit of God. If the Spirit stays put, we should stay put and wait patiently for the LORD to move, and when the Spirit moves, so should we.
Exodus 13 …the pillar of cloud/fire out of Egypt…or…
Num 9: 15-23 …on the day that the tabernacle was reared up…the cloud covered the tabernacle, namely, the tent of the testimony: and at even there was upon the tabernacle as it were the appearance of fire, until the morning.
Text: Deut 1:1-8
When God says Go…Don’t say No.
Deut 1:6-7 The LORD our God spake unto us in Horeb, saying, Ye have dwelt long enough in this mount:
7 Turn you, and take your journey, and go…
Israel’s problem…they did not want to go…
Moses begged them..v.8,
Moses charged them..v.16,
Moses commanded them v.18,
Moses encouraged them to go v.21
They even got a glimpse of it.v.24-25..
They had seen God how God came through in the past…how he went before them…v.31
Deut 1:31-33 And in the wilderness, where thou hast seen how that the LORD thy God bare thee, as a man doth bear his son, in all the way that ye went, until ye came into this place.
Notwithstanding…they rebelled, they did not go up and claim it..v.26-28, they murmured…and discouraged others… and the Lord finally wrote them off…because of their unbelief…v.31-33
v.32 Yet in this thing ye did not believe the LORD your God, 33 Who went in the way before you, to search you out a place to pitch your tents in, in fire by night, to shew you by what way ye should go, and in a cloud by day.
Then reluctantly, they resigned themselves to go up v.41 …but it was too late!!!!!!!! v.42-46
Israel’s problem…they did not trust God…they did not obey God…He looked to another generation.
Prov 4:11 I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths.
God gave a vision…1Sam 22:2 distressed, debtors, discontent…Pleasant Hill drinking…Belton…drugs
…Proven things…prayer, praise, expository preaching, discipleship, home bible studies, missions.
Sunday mornings…need consolidation Jr. Church format
Sunday evenings…Master’s Club…5PM-7PM…need Leader…and need teachers.
Wednesday nights…Discipleship alternating men and women…need spouses or others to do child care.
Need outreach…everyone…
Need fellowship…people to organize…adult and children program.
Need help…cleaning, maintenance, breakfast…should not leave it to others…till they burn out or blow out.
