About the Hymn's Author:
One of the United Kingdom’s most popular hymns, "Be Thou My Vision" is a traditional Christian hymn with Irish origins.
The text is based on a Middle Irish poem most attributed to Dallán Forgaill, an early Christian Irish poet born in 530 AD. Since the early 20th century, the text has been sung to an Irish folk tune, known in church hymnals as ‘Slane’.
Today, ‘Be Thou My Vision’ is often heard at both weddings and funerals, as well as Sunday church services across the United Kingdom. It is said to be a favourite of King Charles, and a newly set version of the hymn was performed at his coronation service at Westminster Abbey.
In 1905, Forgaill’s Gaelic words were translated into English by Irish linguist and journalist, Mary Byrne. Seven years later Eleanor Hull, a scholar in Old Irish, adapted Byrne’s English translation into verse, giving us the lyrics most commonly sung today.
Christened ‘Eochaidh’, the poet Forgaill later earned the nickname ‘Dallán’, which translates to ‘little blind one’, after he lost his sight.

Carl Gustav Boberg was a Swedish poet, preacher, government official and member of parliament, best known for writing the Swedish-language poem "O Store Gud" ('O Great God') from which the English language-hymn "How Great Thou Art" is derived.
The song is a natural romantic description of God's creation, which in each chorus ends with the songwriter wanting to cry out that God is great. It was written after Boberg experienced a thunderstorm at the Kalmar Strait.

This song could have saved the lives of Metalheads of the past. Some let the music lead them to believe the lyrics. Heavyness with a positive message is a WONDERFUL thing.
I love the Bio information on this channel where you teach us about the original writers of the Hymns...Isnt it great that GOD TAKES HIS TIME WITH US... and says, "Come now let US Reason together"... only the real God is HUMBLE... and he puts a song in our hearts with words that are based on HIS ACTUAL words... the words of Scripture BREATHED OUT by God Himself...not merely breathed into human words...but Gods actual words that encouraged these hymn writers to write the truth in song!!

It’s great. Personally, I would have added more vocal layers. You literally changed the song to have more meaning focused on the title. It always gets lost on the “how great” part and we forget the meaning of the song is about asking for guidance. That is brilliant.

Now do “How great thou art” to make it complete. Not sure how to arrange that one. Would be epic though. Old rugged cross as a melody, Nightwish style? Hmmmm You are making me want to jump into making this too. Lol

I wonder if the syncopation is common to this genre or if it is some side-effect of Suno. It is a bit distracting but you get used to it.

A.I metal is strangely good. Just needs real people singing.. the A.I voices aren't that great. Good melody and lyrics though!
