The theme of total insanity happening in 2022...i should revisit the game in fifth time

It's so fascinating to me that Deus Ex's visual and aural presentation feels dated now, and yet at that exact time it was exactly the right aesthetic. Like it was shaped by and for that exact point of time in american culture. Even a year or two out from its release, the game was seen as old school, nostalgic.

Whoa; Ragitsu is alive? Just like Deus Ex 1, one of the best immersive games out there and still is. Alongside Thief 1/2, they are the King and Queen, nothing can dethrone them. Then you have the children; Pathologic 1, SpaceStation 13,Vampire Bloodlines,System Shock 1/2. l would really want to ad Kane and Lynch 2, just the story an atmosphere of it. Makes you feel like you're in the mess you're in

@@we-must-live No one has the 'balls' to do anything original period. The creators that did original concepts are gone or are too few to count. Now is the era of making profits, having online only games and so on. Can you remember a certain, very original game consisting of only using your voice? That Pickachu game on N64, l mean the one called Lifeline on the PS2. l can list more games but the point is there. Games are not games anymore, they are just templates or objects in a supermarket or E-shop. Exceptions are possible as always

@@deadspace4755 thank you for admitting that there are exceptions - I was gonna start my 'but have you seen X' rant... i think, at the end of the day, I don't really play new games anymore. maybe i'll pirate a new remake in a reputable series to see if it's worth the money, but most of the time? PS1-era games all the way - the sheer style, craft and huge fukcing bazoongas it took to make some of those titles, back when genres weren't set in stone and you could play a fast-paced assblast shooter right before floating through a mystical dream world. those experiences may be lost like... tears in rain, but they are not forgotten! oh, and have you heard of 'Seaman' - it's the same type of "your voice is your controller" design, but centered in on a little weird humanfish that asks you questions ranging from political existentialism to whether you've gone on any dates with any boooooooyyyyys!

@@we-must-live For people(seems we both), who have played lot and lot of games in their lives, only old games manage to capture the feeling of wholeness. Try to compare San Andreas to GTA 5 or Dragon Age Origins to Dragon Inquisition or a very old game turned new in our recent era. For me, l only sigh when l play new games(not always). Of course, words are cheap, we don't need to explain, everything is laid out in front of us. You can easily guess someone's character by their way of moving, knocking doors(and more) in a public environment, all these small details. The same can be said for games. However, exceptions and the above assumption(of mine), aren't that simple in life. l believe it has to do with experience, you feel things but can't explain them so well to others. Most of the time, others don't want to listen or just want to say their piece only. Perhaps the 2 above are applied only for the majority. l could list my favorite games but l already forgotten their names, life can make you forget things and/or l have bad memory but l do remember faces. l remember faces, experiences but not names but when you remind me names and explain, boom, l remember again. l mainly pursue games with meaningful storylines or life lessons in them but fun, mindless games that prove themselves are also accepted. Though this isn't absolute, l have been proven wrong. l may not watch anime but my first full anime is Ghost Stories Dub. The amount of knowledge, humor and infinitely amount of others, can not be explained. Perhaps they can: Momoko Koigakubo and the gang. More to the point; nobody can create such a dub, it has everything. Even Bible References which made me more interested in reading the old Testament which shows the truth and how we never changed our ways from the start of life(the fall of Adam and Eve). Careful study of all chapters proves we are the same, whining, want to have easy life without hardships people. Just read Exodus. And not just that of course. Given how our recent era is, it can be explained in few words: Corrupt,greedy,egoistical,prideful, the word that someone wants to show themselves to others and loves it in a bad way. Remember that agendas that pollute our recent games.

@@deadspace4755 "l mainly pursue games with meaningful storylines or life lessons in them but fun, mindless games that prove themselves are also accepted." absolutely - last two games I've played are Far Cry 2 (it tackles ideas of darwinism and human nature in a compelling way that isn't easy to boil down outside of experiencing the gameplay) and Spider-Man: Web of Shadows (because it's REALLY fun) and i think you may be right about the gaming sphere - while I wouldn't call the whole industry corrupt, I would not be surprised if a few fat phuk aristocrats are to blame for the incessant sycophantic nagging that makes up most of the AAA releases in big series recently. and when it comes down to it, newer games are missing the 'magic' that ran through ~2000 games' veins. the MUSIC, the consoles that felt like they were ALIVE, the ambitious games that still leave me speechless... i hope for more games that try to capture that feeling... and pirate those that don't! but yeah, it's been fancy talking to another videogame extraordinaire that isn't afraid to admit that... games used to be better than this. but hell, only time can tell, right?
