DETROIT'S ABANDONED HOUSES INSIDE AND OUT.
I went inside two of these abandoned houses in Detroit. I would have explored more but I was by myself and didn't plan on even making a video at the time. I didn't want some stray dog to come running out.

Believe it or not some people jump on these houses when they see them for sale at the prices they are at.... Then they try to rent them out or resale them and realize NO ONE that CAN AFFORD rent would ever want to live there...

These houses are beyond rehabilitation because the copper wiring and pipes are gone and the weather has taken its toll as well... Demolition is the only option... Then, there's the neighborhood environment... Imagine seeing this everyday... Sadly, these were decent houses in past years...

True but the city went bankrupt that's when detroit got abandoned because the city of detroit couldn't pay the businesses to pay the workers so the businesses went down then the city got abandoned because the people moved out cause there were no more jobs so they couldn't pay rent so they moved out of the city and now it's all destroyed
You mentioned a concern about meeting a stray dog in one of the houses... It's the stray, feral, humans that are a much bigger problem !

I don't get Detroit. Most of those are decent looking houses with good "bones" for renovating. Better than some of the houses in older areas of towns near where I live. But they are trashed and dangerous, and the scary guys in the neighborhood make fixing them up pointless. The only way Detroit will ever recover is if the majority of the scary guys disappear. Now that I think of it, this is the premise of the movie "Robocop".

ToxicNT the criminals didn’t ruin it. People left because there were no jobs, rent was too expensive, and those who stayed are left with lots of empty unmonitored space that is a breeding ground for criminals
The houses in the very beginning on the first block could be restored they were nice brick homes but the whole area is so bad no one would want to live there it could be a rental with a minor rehab but would probably get tore up again
How did all those homes get like that?
It’s such a beautiful and lovely suburb with nice big houses. If this was England these would be super popular. There could be a lot of happy families in those houses. The recession truly fucked over the whole world.

So sad to see al that abandoned houses
I am now wondering if any of those homes are actually worth refurbishing for the homeless or as starter homes for couples or first time homeowners.
Wuow muy grande casa en Distroi
The second house looked like one of those hoarder videos because of all the trash and dirty sink!
these were majestic homes at one time!
Was that a dog in the house or just in the back ground? (I sadly know they hide dogs in abandoned houses alot.) Have you ever came across that situation before? Eek!.. What would you do?
When keeping it real goes wrong
These are some REALLY nice Brick houses! what a shame!! they could be nice if they were fixed up.

Detroit is a modern day ghost town. There was a boom and then a bust, like the gold mining ghost towns.
What a waste. These houses could be made into homes for the homeless. We could borrow capital from China and Russia and restore them to their former glory.

What your seeing in this video is the effects of racism on a society. Banks in the United States have a long history of charging high interest rates to black people whether they had a good credit rating or not, ( It still goes on. ) and lent money to white people at a lower interest rate often even if they had a worse credit rating than a black person. So after WW2 as suburbs were coming popular places for white people to get away from black people they moved to the suburbs, and less people means less of tax base to take care of the city.
These are the same neighborhoods Walter "street watchers" patrol.
A country of survival of the fitest.
I see that the outside matches the inside. Incredible delapidation.

Whatever it is , it's not good.... damn man , it's like the fed govt doesn't care.....like Katrina but 100x worse. Has anyone had any ideas on what to do besides the downtown hipsters hanging art everywhere ?
They were built by people from elsewhere. The new people don’t like them because of that
