DETROIT'S ABANDONED HOUSES INSIDE AND OUT.

I went inside two of these abandoned houses in Detroit. I would have explored more but I was by myself and didn't plan on even making a video at the time. I didn't want some stray dog to come running out.

Believe it or not some people jump on these houses when they see them for sale at the prices they are at.... Then they try to rent them out or resale them and realize NO ONE that CAN AFFORD rent would ever want to live there...

These houses are beyond rehabilitation because the copper wiring and pipes are gone and the weather has taken its toll as well... Demolition is the only option... Then, there's the neighborhood environment... Imagine seeing this everyday... Sadly, these were decent houses in past years...

True but the city went bankrupt that's when detroit got abandoned because the city of detroit couldn't pay the businesses to pay the workers so the businesses went down then the city got abandoned because the people moved out cause there were no more jobs so they couldn't pay rent so they moved out of the city and now it's all destroyed

I don't get Detroit. Most of those are decent looking houses with good "bones" for renovating. Better than some of the houses in older areas of towns near where I live. But they are trashed and dangerous, and the scary guys in the neighborhood make fixing them up pointless. The only way Detroit will ever recover is if the majority of the scary guys disappear. Now that I think of it, this is the premise of the movie "Robocop".

What your seeing in this video is the effects of racism on a society. Banks in the United States have a long history of charging high interest rates to black people whether they had a good credit rating or not, ( It still goes on. ) and lent money to white people at a lower interest rate often even if they had a worse credit rating than a black person. So after WW2 as suburbs were coming popular places for white people to get away from black people they moved to the suburbs, and less people means less of tax base to take care of the city.
