Detroit Bad Boys Rare HEATED Moments Part 1

Спорт

Just old school physical basketball. Detroit "Bad Boys" Pistons are notorious for playing dirty and tough. The intimidation tactics ended up winning them 2 back to back NBA Championships. They also had very talented roster

Im always amused by the stories of how Bird and Mchale would talk about sending guys to the "torture chamber" which was the nickname they gave to Mchale in the post because he had so many moves and he would just frustrate opponents. And whats better, Mchale had all these dorky names for his moves like the slippery eel 🤣. Imagine some guy roasting you in the paint and saying "slippery eel" before they pulled a move on you 😂.

If you read comments around the net you'll find out that wrestling was allowed in the 80s, and only Detroit was allowed to use it. Then you watch the videos and you find out that refs actually called fouls and that the foul limit was already 6 fouls. This, of course, to minimize the fact that they went toe to toe with the Celtics and the Lakers and that they had MJ's Bulls in their pockets for 3 straigh playoffs. How dumb can folks be?

The Bad Boys might've been a lil' rough around the edges, but they had great class and a passion for winning! As an out of state transplant, they set a firm, accurate representation of the attitude within Detroit city at that time.

Class? Class is shaking hands when you get swept by the GOAT and his teammates. Class is not walking off court before final whistle of game 4 and not extending your hand. Simply an afterthought of a b- ball team when the great teams are talked about.

The Pistons took more hits than anybody and the one thing about the Pistons is they could take it more than they dished it out -- the league was so weak, just get up and knock down the free throws. Detroit just got up and knocked down the free throws.

Face it, they lacked talent, so they played dirty. Dirtiest players and team ever. They're the reason the rules were changed.

@@advicemaster1365 Define "dirty". The truth is you don't win back-to-back titles being untalented and 'dirty'. Then when you say they changed the rules because of them, what you are saying is that the NBA rules previous was dirty basketball -- Lakers and Celtics and Sixers could win in a 'dirty' era but Jordan and his Bulls could not. This is why I say 'define dirty'.

Playing hard and playing dirty is 2 different things. Detroit played dirty because their team was lacking talent besides Isiah and Joe.

  • @plainsimple244

@@thorphoeung6057 What you have to do is define 'dirty' and when were they 'dirty' when they were winning or when they were losing? If their titles were 'dirty' because their play was 'dirty' then the league just let them win back-to-back titles winning 'dirty'? So that means the NBA was 'dirty' allowing this to happen? Right. So what pull did the Pistons organization have on the NBA to make it 'dirty' and why would the league allow it? So if it's 'dirty' basketball the Pistons played, how did they clean it up?

The modern NBA is crap compared to this era of b-ball, and it's because MJ started to turn the NBA soft as it is today. Players nowadays just flop and cry, something this roster never did. 🤡🖕🏻
