    My father taught me this vaman dhauti technique when I was 12 and jal neti wen I was suffering from severe sinus coupled with migrain problem. Jal neti is not a "pleasant" technique..it pains like hell. But it cured my migrain and sinus problem cmpletely within 6 months without any medications. It has been 9 yrs and I am cmpleyely fine. I still do vamam dhauti once in 2 or 3 months or wen I feel d need to do it. It really helps

    Jala neti should never be painful. It might be because there is too much salt in the water, or the temperature is too cold or too warm. Pain is a sign that something is wrong.

    A cautionary note: I would not recommend the purgative vomiting technique if you suffer from high blood pressure or a weakened heart. Also would not recommend it if you suffer from acid reflux syndrome. And even when one does not suffer from these ailments I would suggest to exercise extreme caution as in some people this practice has devolved into a psychological condition called bulimia.

    I don't believe that this purging technique could be confused with bulimia as this is practiced before any food has been consumed. Bulimic people purge after consuming food
