    Hi! I’m just wondering how you would determine the end point, since the light pink is really not much different from milk’s original colour, and I couldn’t decide when to stop the titration.

  • @MicroChemsExperiments

    @MicroChemsExperiments

    3 жыл бұрын

    I do not understand your problem. During titration the milk color is turned into faint pink from white and color can be indentified clearly. Watch my video again and do the experiment thrice in your lab. Try to identify the point when white color just converted into faint pink. I think you will be able to read the end-point.

    Molecular weight of NaOH is 40 mole/L. So, we need to dissolve 40g NaOH pellets in 1Liter solution for the preparation of 1M NaOH solution. But we want to prepare 0.1M NaOH solution. That's why we dissolved 4g NaOH solution in final volume of 1Liter. Which makes 0.1M NaOH solution.

  • @MicroChemsExperiments

    @MicroChemsExperiments

    3 жыл бұрын

    Just to increase the volume and to dilute the sample. 1. Color changes can be detectable easily in large volume of sample. 2. Diluted acidity in diluted sample helps to react with NaOH solution fastly and properly. NB: Addition of distilled water won't cause any change in total acidity of the sample, because the pH of distilled water is neutral.
