amazing that it was a surprise to whoever read this back in the day that bruce wayne was batman

it was a very clever idea to not reveal his identity from the beginning

What a twist ending! Also, it's nice to see The Bat-Man go up against fairly regular folk. It makes his character and appearance all the more amusing.

It was 80 years today that a Billionaire had dawned the costume, It's Symbol, a Bat. In that moment... The Legend was born.

And so, this is how Batman started. Commissioner Gordon is introduced along with Batman/Wayne. They solve a case about mysterious murders then find out hired killers are behind the case. He tracks them down after grabbing a contract one of the hired killers stole and went to the location. The main culprit on the verge of about to kill another former worker of his was tackled by Batman and gripped. As the madman got up and tried to attack he fell into the bed of acid.

Very Good pacing. I like how Bruce Wayne lived in a "Room" and not a mansion (At least when he was in town I assume to make it easier for him to turn into the "Bat-man"

Stryker being the original Joker is my headcanon considering this was the beginning of Batman and the similarities to Joker's origin its too good not to be true

The character really has stood the test of time huh

Legendary comic

It's fun to see how much is still in use today , for example the death trap he easily escapes from and the disappearing act which is also used constantly . The Batman seems a tad bit colder here than what we're use to . I imagine him talking slower with some bitterness thrown in . You get the feeling he really hates someone who commits murder . I don't think we've really seen him portrayed in such a way in the live action movies . Could be really interesting for a change .

There's no mention of Bruce Wayne being a billionaire and he apparently lives in a "room" instead of Wayne Manor and there's no mention of Alfred either and he just drives a normal red car. Was he supposed to be just some random guy in a bat suit in the beginning?
