Detecting breast cancer with microwaves
Tyson chose to study medical physics because it provided an opportunity to apply the concepts he learned in physics to medicine, particularly in developing safer and more accurate ways of diagnosing cancer and directly benefiting the wider community. Tyson has a BSc in Medical and Biological Physics from the University of Manitoba, and received the NSERC CGS-M scholarship. He hopes to contribute meaningfully to the field of medical physics, and to help train and educate students.
