My god...When you see a SAAB 900 that is clean, the body lines of this unique machine really pops. Every time i see one of these I cannot help but stare at it. The only car the 900 compares to is the 911. Outside of that it was and still is in a class of its own. WHO EVER OWNS THIS SAAB, PLEASE KEEP THIS CAR ALIVE , WELL AND CLEAN.

This particular one has under 100k miles, an immaculate service history and is kept in a humidity-controlled bubble when not being driven. It's in safe hands!

One of the most important lines in this unique and captivating shape is the plan-view curve of the flanks, almost a constant, shallow radius. They combine with the parallel-to-the-road waist lines (which they stupidly changed on the GM era cars) to contribute hugely to the way the car just looks right from any angle (and also to the aerodynamics). ETA - then there's the subtle tapering outwards of the cabin sides from the windscreen and A-pillars to the rear, also looking fantastic and helping the aero.

Had one of these back in the late 1980s, and I would have kept it had I not gone to live in New Zealand for a couole of years. The best ICE car I ever owned by far. So mild mannered and smooth. Such excellent handling. Such acceleration and speed when required. And such character. Cars were beginning to get a bit samey. Niot so the SAAB. That fighter cockpit feel that only these cars had back then and so many copy even now. I remember taking the prospective new owner for a test drive in mine along the motorway in cruise control. He was gently haggling. I thought I would stop this, so I floored it. The turbo meter snapped round, another engine jumped under the bonnet alongside the first one, and the car took off. A few seconds later, around about 130mph he effectively said "deal". He got a great great car.

Total respect for a man who Cleary loves his Saab..

I owned 2 Saab 900s - including a Ruby (as shown here). They were utterly magnificent and are greatly missed. Thank you for posting this video and for bringing back so many happy memories.

There are a few for sale over here in the UK at the moment, but I'm guessing they're harder to source over there!

I owned a Saab 900T 16V model year 1986. It had traveled 29000 miles when I bought it, but the engine sounded completely and went absolutely fantastic. Not to mention the pressure it was when I needed to overtake. An old but unique construction. The reinforcements around the passenger compartment were outstanding compared to most other cars at this time. Mercedes and Volvo were the only cars I know of that at this time had such well-built passive safety. Despite the simple rear-wheel drive construction, it was extremely well-balanced and functional. It provided a very good ride comfort and the driver got through the condition of the front car and the steering a very clear and nicely balanced feeling for the car's behavior on the road. The chairs were world class. I have owned 6 Saab 99 and Saab 900. 900 was a further development of the 99. A fantastically good further development. And this despite the fact that the basic construction of the 99 was made in the mid-1960s in the small "magic factory" in Trollhättan, Sweden. What I miss Saab ....

Well that was a pretty comprehensive overview! I've still not driven this car more than a few hundred metres unfortunately. One day.

Previous owner of a Saab 900 Ruby loved it and so did my local Garage for the repairs it always needed. Respect to the love it deserves on this video shame didn't show much of the seats as the mix of Bridge of Weir Leather and Zenga cloth was extra special for the UK 900 final edition for Ruby. Miss being a Saab 900 owner - can't drive anymore and wife has a Toyota Prius which not exciting is extremely reliable.

Wow, when cleaned up, this car looks way more modern than it is. I'm not really that surprised that Saab wanted to give it another refresh and keep in production till 1996.

Harder than new paint, but not as hard as old BMW paint, for example.

It’s over 20 years old. It’s obviously had new paint at some point, hence the orange peel.
