Detailing a Classic Corvette INTERIOR

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

At least once a year, I give the cabin of my 1976 Corvette a deep cleaning including removing the seats, getting rid of old papers and other junk in the storage compartment, etc.
The cabin or cockpit of the Corvette C3 is tiny compared to most modern cars, so removing the seats is almost mandatory if you want to do a thorough cleaning job.
Besides, dirt, dead bugs, and other stuff accumulate under them and the only way to properly clean the carpet is to have them off the vehicle.
Plus, not having them in while you clean the interior allows you to easily reach the storage area without pulling a muscle or damaging something while you contort your body so you can reach that area.
The T-tops also have to be removed for ease of access and to avoid bumping your head on them.
In this video, I cover all the steps necessary to make the Corvette interior look fresh and new again, and this project can be easily done over a weekend or even a few hours if that's all the time you can (or want to) spare.
And if you have any ideas or suggestions, please share them with the rest of us by posting a comment below.
Thank you for watching! 🙂👍

I would detail my 69 coupe in similar fashion. Roof panels off, seats out. So much easier to clean. Also good time to lube the tracks and adjusting parts. Great video.

Your red vette is awesome. I also have a red vette, a 79. Looks just like yours but not in as good condition as yours. My interior is also different, mainly the dash guages and speedo. Now that it is nice and clean, you must drive it and get it dirty 🙂

Wow another great video thanks for making it. I love the videos of you working on that car I could watch for hours. After seeing how easy it is to pull the seats I will definitely do that this Spring to get a really thorough cleaning. I always think my car can’t possibly be any cleaner than it is until I see your videos and see there’s always room for improvement. Like you I enjoy doing it I find the tinkering with it is half the fun of having the car.

Dave, thank you so much for your comment and for watching my videos. I really consider all the tinkering, improvements, repairs, detailing, etc., a part of the ownership journey, and yes, that’s a huge part of the fun of owning a classic car. The time we enjoy wasting is not wasted time. Not sure who said that but I agree. Wishing you a great 2023 😊👍🏻

Thank you, Anthony. I keep a variety of products handy, but most of the time I use Meguiar’s Quick Interior Detailer ( amzn.to/3VY4GWY ) and sometimes Weiman Leather Cleaner and Conditioner ( amzn.to/3iq5arj ). I’ve also used Chemical Guys VRP a couple of times ( amzn.to/3Gt5hdH ), although it’s a bit too shiny for my taste. The reason for my using conditioners is to keep the materials supple, not shiny. The main goal is to keep everything as clean as possible. Thank you for watching! 😊👍🏻

How hard is it to remove the drivers seat if it is powered?

Not hard at all. Just one terminal to unplug, remove all four nuts from under the car. Didn’t even have to lift the car to do so. 😊👍🏻
