Sometime it get confusing but i recommend getting your wall thick enough so they wont glitch and yeah never open the door for un invited guest.... also i love this tutorial i get lost when it come to the door handle

Essentially anything that is grouped before the intractables and everything are all grouped together well not be interactable. Meaning that in the final grouping anything that isn't grouped will be interactable, and anything that already was grouped won't be. At least that's what I think you mean.

Interactables are pretty much straight forward. the start position (1) and end position (2) are all you pretty much need to make an interactable. and if you want it to be only interactable by the window you group window together only one time I the entire setup.

Randomly came across you in my suggested. Thanks for the tutorial I'll make sure to put what you've taught me to use 👍

this is getting me more interested in town, might try it sometime since i like the genre (building combat, like electric state which i love)

I wish I could make a thin door that looks good but then some aimbotting sweat will just glitch in with his buddies

I made the key mechanism, I put Blue at (-500)transp. (1)( 0.001) Red (-500) (2) (0.001) Pink (-500) (3) (2) I grouped them and gave !WC, the key works, part of the outside the door, I place the transparent block covering the handle, copy it, and in the Blue part I place (-500) (1) (0.001) Red I place it on the top of the door (-500) (2) (0.001) I copy and place it on the side of the door. red or pink and put (-500) (4) (2) I group them, I go to !wc and test the key, the key works but the lid doesn't. it dont work PLS responde Dawn

That sounds correct, but maybe the error is in the receiver (4), which is supposed to be pink or whatever color you are using for your transmitter. And you make it sound like you group the interactables together but not the block that covers the handle. I wish I could see the door, Ill message you when I'm on and see if I can help you.

That’s true but in my opinion this is simpler.

builder of 5 years here, If you wanna make your door pretty then DONT USE GLASS. It'll break the view and it will look weird. Use Metal or Smooth Plastic, Whatever floats your boat.

I wish and I hope not. Because most of my viewers are town viewers. And if I swap games like I did for Bistro, it does not go well. And I am going insane trying to keep a schedule.

is there anyway to make it to where certain people can get in from the outside without perms? because what if like u have housing and you are selling houses to people and they lock the door from the inside but cant get back in, and they dont want anybody going into their house.

you would need a key code lock which are very complex.

no idea if you’re so good at btools that you can fulfill my request, but what about a code activated door? I was thinking like invisible parts that when you press it it somehow makes everything reset and then it moves out of the way when you press a certain correct combination.

you probably need to make the clear box that covers the handle bigger, which would possibly fix your issue. Hope that works!😁

Uh, I would need to see. But it sounds like maybe grouped too many times, or you might need to check which objects are a reciever (4) and which is a transmitter (3). And also verify the colors match between them.

That base even without the very few furniture, took hours to build, yeah sure I could probably do it faster the second time. But right now I’m burnt out from making content and I have a pre edited video set for the 10th of February. And making tutorials doubles to triples the time it takes to edit, making it no longer fun to make or edit videos which will overtime drain me of energy and you will likely see negative returns in the videos.

the map is an image on a metal backboard with a lining oh metal beams and to add detail you can model up some sticky notes to go on the perimeter. For a final touch you can take a small rectangle and put it where your base is and set the material to force field to make a nice marker for your base. @mrplaguedr. it’s implied. you only group the door. You leave the door handle ungrouped.

The color on the transmitter was different from the receiver, the box and other intractable were not grouped correctly, grouped too many times (probably on accident), transmitter is set to receiver or receiver is set to transmitter, Or they are both set to receiver or transmitter. Rn that’s all I can think of that could have gone wrong, I recommend you watch the video closely before you start the build so you aren’t occasionally missing parts.

Do doors still not save ? last time i played this i made a base with 2 sliding doors, but when i loaded it the next day they were no longer functional

Ok, so you used to have to save using !ps or !sp. If you used !sp it didnt save connections. Now you have to use !sgui to open the gui for all your saves and it doesnt matter anymore.

if it said wired zero connections then you A: arnt setting the transparency of the interactable to -500 B: grouped it too many times or didn’t group the interactable.

@@Dawn45648 I found out the reason it wouldn't work was because I made the transmit from a part of the lock and I forgot to remove the audio I added to the lock. I hope this helps anyone having trouble.

I’m sorry for the inconvenience, there may be a couple possibilities for why your door won’t work. - intractables have wrong settings - didn’t wire connections in chat - grouped too many times - didn’t group interactables correctly

If I’m understanding you correctly, you might want to ungroup everything or rebuild the entire door. Then you can try to group it again. there should be 3-4 groups total. First the locking mechanism. Then the latch. And finally all of it together including the hinge intractables. And if you have a door model with multiple parts, then you need to group it together before the final group.
