Detailed STEP BY STEP TUTORIAL on How to Sew Fabric Handles for Your Bags | beginner bagmaking

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In this video tutorial I'll show you how to easily make fabric handles for your tote bags.
I'm using my Juki TL2000 Qi sewing machine and I'm making handles for my Chubby Tote Bag (free tutorial): • How To Sew A Chubby To...
My finished handles measure 3/4'' x 16'' (2cm x 41cm) and the fabric + interfacing I'm working with is cut 3'' x 16'' (8cm x 41cm).
I used Essex Linen for the handles but quilting cotton works great, too.
I used Pellon SF101 fusible interfacing, other medium weight fusible interfacing can be used instead.

    Hi Svetlana! Thank you for listening to my feedback and doing a tutorial without music. It was so lovely to hear the sounds of the iron steaming and your sewing machine. I have the same machine. ☺️ This video gave me the same satisfaction as sitting down to sew when I can’t get to my sewing machine. Love it!

    Thank you so much. The handles look like a great alternative to leather or pleather which can be so expensive. I also appreciate you giving us the specific interfacing information. I'm now looking forward to making your gorgeous chubby tote! ❤

    You tutorials are wonderful and very precise without a lot of chatter and distracting music! Thank you. I love the idea of the heavier threads. Are you using the Coats XP general purpose threads or do they specifically say heavy duty thread, I’m having trouble finding it.

  • @maryraab9066
    @maryraab90663 жыл бұрын

    Thank you very much for all your wonderful tips! On your beginner chubby bag tutorial, I asked about what type of thread you use (I am a novice seamstress.). You mention using the heavier Dual Duty thread to make these bag handles for the top stitching. Do you find that the Dual Duty adds strength to the bag handles, particularly when you have heavy items in it to carry, or is the heavier weight thread more for a decorative effect?
