And if she wasn't standing right in front of the animal it probably wouldn't have charged the gate. There's a reason why they put a little hole in that gudgeon pin, and that's for a bolt to stop exactly that from happening, girly is lucky she shifted her arse out of there in time.

This is the first time I've seen a video such as this. Thank God Ashley was ok. Puts a whole new perspective look towards the capability of these massive animals. I know it's a dangerous job handling them, and this video proves it. Take care each and every day with them. You put your lives on the edge to take care of them.

We had a moment like that at a feedlot. Had some nasty bulls in. One got back into the area where the chute is and me and two other people were in that area. I was the closest to that bull coming back and and when i seen his nose come rishing back in, i screamed "run" to the other two. Ive never seen people run faster in my entire life! 😂😂 imthwy ran into thw office and slammed the door before i could even think of running in, but i didnt want that. No way in hell were you gonna catch me in a small office with a pissed off bull. So i branched off and ran into the area where the horses were. After the adrenaline wore off, they emerged from the office, and i popped out from the corner where i about faceplanted into a horses butt. We stared at eachother whitefaced and shaking and then all three of us busted out laughing.

Had a charlois go between the trailer door and the gate. I was in coveralls and knee high boots. I managed to fling myself into the pickup but she closed the door. Adrenaline works wonders when it kicks it. Glad everyone was OK when that bull went on a detour.

They sure don't like having their horns broomed off. A farmer was at the fair livestock exhibit when a group of women came in and after looking at the animals one of them came up to the farmer wanting to know why the cow in the pen next to him had no horns. He said ma am there are several reasons why a cow might not have horn. First it might be a hornless variety like Black Angus. Then when they get older some cows get a little rank and try to hook ya so they saw them off to be safer. Then some farmers put a few drops of acid on the bud when a calf is born stopping the horn from developing..But that's not the reason this cow has no horns. The reason this cow has no horns is because it's a horse....

@@jellybeandakota6140 If you don't tip the horn, when they hook you or your horse, it's going to either pierce straight in or cause a nasty cut. When the horn is tipped, and Cody was rounding them off with a grinder as well, you'll hopefully get a bad bruise but won't get opened up. It also means that if the cattle fight each other or even accidentally poke each other, say in the trailer, they won't damage each other as they would when untipped.

To be fair now, hardly any competition looking at what they were doing, generally it isn't a good move to stand in front of a pissed-off fighting bull with just a pipe gate for protection!

4:55 Why not use tree limb pruners? It's much quieter than that saw and in one quick motion a person can cut off up to an inch and a half in diameter of horn.

Long handled lopping or pruning shears work well to cut horns.

I wondered why they couldn't use the hydraulic neck bars on that chute, they had them pulled off. We use them when we dehorn our angus cross cattle.

You're thinking of the old kind of bull fighting, which should be illegal in my opinion.. This is different.. There is No "ring of death" for these bulls.. These bulls try to buck their riders off before 8 seconds.. You know, rodeo bull riding !
