I'm forever going to be bitter they killed Rasputin. Definitely one of the more interesting characters in the franchise, and he was there day 1. They could've done so much with his character, even if he lost control over the warsats. And how they hyped up this big parallel between him and Xivu Arath both being war gods ): I think the worst part is that they killed him in a seasonal story. A major character dead, not in an expansion but in seasonal content. Rasputin's death definitely feels like a "someone didn't know what to do with Red anymore so we killed him" scenario. The Superman corner they walked into could've easily been walked out of, I think.

What you know about rollin' down in the deep?

This is giving me more positive than negative feelings, Warmind, for all of its problems, really did do its best to fix alot of the problems Destiny 2 had short-term. EP was such a fun PvE challenge once everyone was able to challenge it comfortably. I went and replayed it recently and still had a blast now that a Fireteam of at least 3 to 4 can do it comfortably. Not to mention the wonderful set of weapons and gorgeous armor this expansion added. And of course...that absolutely incredible Whisper of the Worm quest. That was the first time Destiny 2 really started feeling like the first game. I hope we one day see more Warmind related things, because I really think this expansion can be expanded upon even further.

I like how at 4:10 the violins mimic a violin section of d1's 'last aray' track just severly changed rythmicly. Almost the entirity of warminds soundtrack takes ideas from d1 and its awesome. (The track 'warmind' is basicly a souped up version of a track called warmind in d1 that played while you where in orbit)

I love music that is 1. Unforgettable 2. Powerful

He needs to have better mechanics The ichor of xol being thrown out very little times was boring, you had to worry about the Knights more, and the purple fire thing was predictable and easy to avoid, maybe they should enhance the attacks a little bit without changing the core of it too much

@@karateka_95 Yeah. Oryx was way more powerful than Xol, albeit they were both on the level of Gods. Technically Savathun is weaker than Oryx as well, yet she's still terrifying because of her clear impact, influence, and ability to stick her spindly fingers into everything and manipulate us like pawns. THAT'S how you hype up an eventual boss.

Dlc should have been called what the leak suggested "God's of Mars" The "God's" of Mars referring to Xol, the Worm God, and Rasputin, the Tyrant. 2 God's doing battle on the red planet, with us right beneath it all.

I think that's probably what was intended for a while (The Dark Below, House of Wolves, The Taken King, Rise of Iron, Curse Of Osiris, God's of Mars; all three words and one article), but they must've decided to go with the one word titles pretty late in, which is why forsaken is just, well, forsaken

Hearing this upon booting up D2 for the first time since vanilla almost made me jump out of my seat. Jesus.

While Forsaken and TTK had their own amazing themes, and even Shadowkeep has a couple of stand-out ones (Shadowkeep, Storm the Keep and Eye of the Storm) this one is IMO simultaneously the most epic, tense and bombastic (or maybe "boombastic"?) theme in the series, and I love it. Shame it's getting vaulted, but the rumored main theme for Beyond light (the one with heavy horns at beginning) sounds just as good. And even then, I still have to say - Rasputin's leitmotif is kickass.

Does anyone else hear Savathûn’s song throughout the “Xol” part? Like heck dude Bungie has had that planned for years

No. Savathun's song is duh nuh nuh nuh, or as shaxx put it, "I'm on the moon". Warmind, meanwhile, has an extra note, making it duh nuh nuh nuh nuh, or to put it similarly to how shaxx put it "I am on the moon". Basically, the warmind theme is close, but there's an extra note in the middle of the leitmotif.

This was the best strike soundtrack i've ever heard. I miss it so much

He's back but not for long.

I hate how Xol and Nokris are reduced to strike bosses in D2. Xol should be raid material since he’s one of the big five. Nokris should have been a tougher fight too since he was a son of Oryx. It would have been cool if the Warmind campaign was all about fighting off the Hive on mars and then it concludes with a raid or dungeon, like Forsaken, where you finally kill Nokris and then destroy Xol.

Xol is the weakest of the remaining Worm Gods. He and Nokris betrayed the Hive and the Sword Logic. Nokris was a little bitch who betrayed his Father for forbidden powers that didn't get him far.

Xol is the weakest of all the worm gods, also, he wanted to die so he could become part of the sword logic and live on within our whisper of the worm. There is also dialogue from Toland in the shattered throne where he tells us 'Do you really believe you killed what the hive consider to be a god on Mars?'

Well... Crota's End is more like a dungeon of D2 (or a Raid Lair) because of how small it is. And her Daughters were killed on a single encounter so, I don't see that much of a difference

2:28 was the smashing start!

The joy I felt when I heard Bungie had changed the title screen music for the second expansion...I was so dissapointed when CoO didn't change it. Pretty depressing that after half a year, this was probably the most excited the games new content had made me. Thankfully, that wasn't the last thing Warmind did right. Was by no means a great expansion, hell, with the sandbox at the time it'd be a stretch to call it a good expansion. But after 6 months it was amazing

Slipstream 64 first: this doesn’t sound like anything hans Zimmer has ever done. Second: the composer of this piece is C Paul Johnson.
