It's kind of bittersweet, on the one hand Keith is a fantastic actor and will do this role justice, but on the other hand hearing someone else voice Zavala tears at the wounds left by Lance's passing. I'm sure it's just this first time, and I will get over it given enough time, but Lance will still be missed.

I just noticed that. I think its awesome and they should continue pushing forward with it because it reinforces the idea of this being not only humanity’s last chance, but the eliksni, the cabal, and literally all species and planets throughout the universe since if the Witness succeeds, he will enact his Final Shape on the whole universe. So sticking together to strengthen and support eachother is the best option

Don't you wonder if the people that comprise the Witness aren't themselves suffering from an inability to affect the decisions made by the Witness? Every time they tried to communicate. To let us in. To show us how to wield power. It was hands reaching from an abyss to the light. That is why the Witness is frustrated, if not infatuated, with the Traveller and the Light; they want to BECOME it - not so simply destroy it - and thus shape a new existence. Sadly, their methods are, like the Sol Divisive and the Black Heart, imperfect. Maligned, not out of malice, but because they aren't being listened to by the Witness. The Witness can't hear them - rather, can't understand them. They are as much in the dark as the people within them are. That's just my thoughts, they might not be precise, but that's the impression I got from Witness.

The witness believes that all suffering is caused by existence in general. It doesn’t really care if it inflicts suffering because if it doesn’t, life will. Also, there's some lore that suggests that the witness only inflicts prolonged suffering on species who've been blessed by the light.

Seeing our jumpships crashing at the end was both hilarious and somber. I've kept my favorite ship since Y1 so it'll be kinda heartbreaking and kinda cool to give it a "sendoff" like this roleplay wise.

@@TheLasombra077 most of Bungie’s discussion regarding Lightfall’s writing related to the dynamic between Calus and the Witness, which was genuinely one of the highlights of the campaign. The biggest problem with Lightfall’s story, the Veil, was barely mentioned (if at all) in the ViDoc.

"Guardians Make Their Own Fate" is also my favorite line from this series. It truly epitomizes both our paracausal capabilities to warp reality with strength and belief, while also demonstrating a poetic irony with the title. "Destiny" implies a predetermined future, but the nature of guardians is that we make our own future, and we forge our own destiny through our powers and our sheer will upon the universe.

Keith David seems like hes giving it his all to make it sound as close as possible while still being his own. From the small amount I've heard, hes gonna do amazing. RIP Lance, and thank you Keith.

One thing that definitely comes across in this video isn't just that these are developers who care deeply about their work and are confronting the end of a decade-long project, but are confronting that with the knowledge that they've lost so many of their coworkers over the last year and are expected to deliver greatness, backs against the wall, without many of their friends. Into the Light and the post-delay Final Shape updates have been amazing, I hope this release is everything the team (current and ex) aspires it to be.

I have a feeling one of the ways to beat the witness is to disrupt it on the inside, have some of the beings who merged start to rethink the final shape, and the one voice we hear here is the more fanatic soul of the witness

This just shows how much time and work has been put in this game, and its just amazing

I love the body part art style of the areas. It's creepy, but in a narrative way rather than shock value. interesting

When the witness tries to merge with the traveler, ole boy just wants to whisper sweet nothings in our war to bring back dinkle bot

To have been working on this series for a decade, and to still be pulling great work together while so many things have continued to change (talent, other new games, player friction etc) is testament to my belief that Destiny is bigger than a single game....its been a great journey, with ups and downs, and one that I hope to continue playing for another 10 years at least. My hat is tipped to Bungie, and everyone who has been involved in, and continues to be involved in, the creation and longevity of this saga. Roll on The Final Shape....and whatever comes next! (oh, and please finish Marathon too!) :-)

It is crazy and insane it be 10 years we play destiny and the final battle against the witness will be very important in destiny history

The detail the callbacks and the memory’s that this expansion is bringing is insane every time there’s something new your telling us I get more and more hyped and impressed can’t wait to play it

The music that starts at 8:14 gives me goosebumps. This is 🔥

Lightfall had all the hype in the world going into the expansion following the greatness of witch queen, stellar marketing, and a final cutscene that was a callback to the original image. It's easy to say that the situations are once again mirrored with high expectations, amazing marketing, and a great cutscene in crow vs cayde. This feels different though. I really feel like bungie is about to deliver a magnum opus, and if they don't then oh well.

Maybe there's something big that's gonna happen as there are still 3 seasons that are shown as [REDACTED] maybe we'll be defeating the witness later in the end of the season or it's some side quest

​​@@THUNDERBOLT-IINot season's anymore, Episodes like mini expansions. First one is to do with the Vex, i think the 3rd is hive but the second one is either Cabal or Eliksni. Also The Witness is the raid boss. Episodes are an insight into what happens after the Witnesses death

Lance would be so proud hearing that voice acting

As a vet player who wants to wrap up the 10yrs. There were so many small details in cuts in this Vidoc that made me FEEL this universe again. (My predictions): our guardian gets a noble six send off, some characters in our classic roaster die (Arcite will sacrifice himself for Shaxx) we will defeat the witness but the result ends with some cosmic shift that results in a new “type” of Guardian with unlimited resonance to light and dark (heavier prismatic build crafting) priming the set up for your new D3 guardian And honestly I’m here for all of that

If there is a "Lone Wolf" mission at the end of this entire story it would be such an amazing send off and a callback to reach.

This is extremely exciting. I also love that, although Keith David's voice is different, he still fits so well into the roll. We will always miss you Lance, you will always be our commander. However, I am glad the roll is not lost and I am proud to have such capable and beloved actor to fill those shoes. In the Famous words of the Arbiter "this is our fight, and I will see it finished"
