Was a good season. And Destiny 2 just concluded it longest overarching story of the light and darkness saga, a 10 year journey. Destiny 2 has had a lot of ups and downs, with its possible lowest low being Lightfall in regards to story telling, many of us players were left with much uncertainty of how well Bungie would be able to conclude this story in a meaningful and impactful way. But, I can happily say Bungie pulled it off. The Final Shape delivers, and delivers hard. The story ends in a pretty good way, the content and a gameplay are stellar. Quite possibly, the best expansion in all of Destiny. Many players got quite emotional, not because it was the end of the story, but because for many of us this was 10 years of our lives. Cant wait for you to see the end!

Straight away, Crow got some new drip.

54:45 the Glykon was such a cool mission. It was a timed Aliens-like mission. Alot of the scenes showed on it were scannable during certain weeks. So multiple playthroughs were require to piece the story together. Really interesting for planting seeds for future seasons. Also has a great Star Wars reference as part of the mission (garbage compactor section). 1:15:11 Osiris' trust issues with Zavala is more to do with Osiris' trust in the Tower itself - Osiris was the Warlock Vanguard before Ikora because he was exiled (that's all I'll say because spoilers for future seasons).

Yall gotta see the parody of this season Lance Reddick aka Commander Zavala voiced, it's hilarious. As always, RIP Lance And Eyes Up Guardian

man the glykon mission was cool. If it seems anticlimactic it's because it was a side mission that this edit moved to the end of the video. The finale of the season was the armistice and crow's unmasking.

I'd just like to point out towards the end he said "Oooh like a gravemind or hive mind" Since you played halo CE... This entire mission was a refrence to the mission "Keyes" where he was consumed by the flood and made inro a protogravemind... Because they actually used the same hangar for the ship.

Watching you guys go through this is wild. The videos are snapshots into the last 10 years of my life. I can clearly remember important events and people in my life during these seasons. Like when I got married, when I lost my best friend, when i found my forever clan... What a journey it has been.

If you feel doubt, trust your heart and follow your instinct. You're a hunter, a guardian. Zavala is your Commander, guard him.

Esoterickk is the go to archiver for destiny seasons for me at least. The audio levels on his videos r also better adjusted to hear the dialog. He’s also a highly skilled player, might be entertaining to u too. He does recaps like destin every season but they show much more raw gameplay but I think they respect the art and show it to u when it’s more necessary to see.

This was season where we started contemplating the idea of working with the other factions. This will continue on into the next season (the best season).

This season was Caiatl's first onscreen introduction but she's actually been in the lore since the launch of Destiny 2. If you had purchased the limited collector's edition it came with an invitation from Emperor Calus to the Leviathan and a journal depicting the scenes leading up to his exile from the Cabal leadership which allowed Ghaul to step in as the defacto leader. Caiatl, at the time Princess Imperial, was one of the conspirators who helped organize the Midnight Coup. The Glykon scenes at the end of this compilation are from a secret exotic mission that was discovered during the season which largely served to close up the Calus storyline that had been left hanging since the events of Season of Opulence. It's a little hard to follow, but the gist of it is that after the planets were removed from normal space during the Arrivals finale, gravitational anomalies were left in their wake. Calus, working through a former Shadow of his (which is the title he gave the Guardians that helped him kill Gahlran in the Crown of Sorrow raid during Opulence) named Katabasis devised an experiment to make contact with the "Voice in the Darkness" the same entity which spoke to us in our own voice at the end of the Shadowkeep campaign. He did this by using the Psions to network together hundreds of Scorn psychically by utilizing the Crown of Sorrow and then flew the ship into the anomaly. It returned from the void with everyone dead or missing and the whole ship covered in a strange growth known as egregore. Calus did not return with the ship but Amsot the scribe noted, while they were inside the anomaly, that a single scorn survived and spoke with many dead voices. This scorn, the Locus of Communion, is the final boss of the encounter. With the locus dead we recover the Crown and "Osiris" takes it back to the city for study. During the various exploratory outings the player can also hear echoes of past characters that are now dead, notably Cayde, Sagira, and Ghaul. The player also gets numerous voice echoes from Calus himself implying that he too is among the dead. On the final outing the player finds Katabasis' Ghost Gilgamesh and gets a final message about how Katabasis killed his own Ghost after realizing that it had been corrupted by the Voice in the Darkness and then died his final death on the bridge. Just before he dies he sends out the distress signal that leads us to him and bequeaths to us his rifle, the Dead Man's Tale.

More of the phenomenal destiny journey. Absolutely loving the video's. As always stay amazing

Haha, Osiris has a little bit of an ego, and if yoi dont know or remember, he was the Warlock Vanguard before Ikora, and her mentor. He was also kinda cast out because he said a lot of things people didnt like or weren't ready to hear. Very interesting to see everyone's story and growth.

Fun thing to do as a Fist of Havoc Titan. Bull rush a cabal tank, jump on top of it, pop Fist of Havoc super, and pound the tank flat. 🤘😎

That season was a introduction to Caital and her way of asking for help, you see the Cabal doesn't simply ask for help they want you to prove you are strong enough to get help from. Also we help her get rid if all the dissenters among her rank and file army. In the following seasons afterwards Caital develops a close friendship with Zavala to the point where she was considering a political marriage with him and she loves grenade launchers too lol!

Ikora had a conversation with Zavala that entertained the idea of political marriage with Caital and Zavala was a main candidate. They never went anything further than that so, they just still friends now

These two are gonna have a field day when they finally reach The Final Shape campaign

Cayde was one of Zavala’s closest friends not just co-workers. If you looked me in the eye and said my friend’s killer cane back im not sure how I would react. This is why he wanted crow to keep his mask on.

The way a lot of Guardians saw it at the time, being chosen by a Ghost and wielding the Light are like being endorsed by the Traveler. To put this in Zavala's perspective: how would you feel if the closest thing you had to a god resurrected the person who murdered one of your closest friends and colleagues? And Zavala is particularly zealous when it comes to the Traveler; this running theme will come up again (without spoiling exactly what happens) in Witch Queen and in the Season of the Risen.

Having now gotten to the end of Destiny's first full saga with the future unknown I feel more excited than ever. I am really looking forward to the rest of your personal Destiny journey😄

To me, Crow is the best character in Destiny. He is the most developed in character growth and story. Crow's story has the player's emotions wrapped up in his character more than any other. You have anger and hate for him, and then understanding and acceptance. That alone is quite a storytelling accomplishment. There are always the few that refuse to see Crow as anything other than Uldren, the killer of Cayde, but they are definitely not the majority. I loved Cayde, but Crow is definitely no Uldren. Crow has turned into my favorite character. Not only in Destiny, but as a character in general he is one of my all-time favorites.

Great reaction. The both of you are going to love the next season, season of the splicer. It was one of the best seasons in terms of gameplay and story. One thing. I don’t know whose gameplay you’re reacting to but you dont want to react to someone who’s using weird up close angles during those important conversations, the ones they did during Crow and Osiris talks is what I mean. They really throw off the conversation by being so close up. During the next season you need to see both parties talking and the environment around them to get the full impact of the story and what they are talking about.

The last bit on the cabal ship was the Exotic Quest after the story. There was alot of story within a lorebook introduced with it detailing the guardian's experiences over time within it and his ghost until his death. As far as it feeling like a cliff hanger; it was a major moment; The Cabal Empire is now at truce/coalition with The Last City/Humanity. Unheard of. Also as a titan main - im with zavala, fucked up ikora, fucked up

Plenty of dialogue that happened during the action was not included in this video, presumably cut for time. From what was not included, I especially liked how Crow and Amanda got friendlier with each other through the season.

So to my memory the reason crow was/is so timid is because prior to meeting the Protagonist he had been attacked on sight and nearly killed by other guardians for his time as Uldren Sov, there were several of these events to where he was wary of even being seen hence the hood

Id like to recommend the Oddworld cutscenes/movie. The first game abe’s Odyssey isn’t long but Munches odyssey is funny & the cinematics for soulstorm are awesome imo

Aboard the Glykon in the mission 'Presage', we, the Guardians, found copious amounts of the strange blue flora which we call 'Egregore'. It flourishes among the dead and the suffering, like twisted variants of poppies on battlefields. It is made of a wicked amalgamation of flora and raw, material Darkness. Calus intended to use the Glykon as an experimentative vessel, to hunt and envelop Scorn from the Tangled Shore. From there, he had them tortured and experimented on, linking their minds together in a Locus of Communion, a giant Scorn who had been bathed in the Dark Ether to engorge them, and to more closely link them to the Voice in the Darkness. While exploring the Glykon, all who ventured into the ship, whether directly or indirectly, was addled by the Darkness itself sifting through their minds. We, the Guardians, hear Cayde. Sagira. Calus. Osiris and Empress Caiatl hear the sounds of their pasts also, despite not being aboard the ship, implying the Egregore spores are not just airborne, but spread transcommunicatively. The Glykon kept aboard it the Crown of Sorrow, a Hive artifact made to allow the wearer to manipulate and control Hive with their minds. Calus had his scribes, including Amsot, experiment with the Crown, to see and test the limits of it's power. Simultaneously did he engineer the Leviathan's Royal Baths to birth new Cabal, warriors who were mentally fortified enough to wear the Crown and fight off the temptation of the Darkness it brings. Though, as Gahlran, Calus' chosen Cabal, wore the Crown, it corrupted him. The Crown was a trap laid by Savathûn, the Witch Queen and Hive God of Cunning. Her intentions were for Calus himself to wear it, for the Crown does not just turn the wearer into a puppet-master, but also a puppet themselves. She intended on manipulating Calus with the Crown, but after Gahlran donned it, she instead used it to wreak havoc aboard the Leviathan, freeing swarms of Hive and feeding Gahlran with Dark strength. This was the 'Leviathan: Crown of Sorrow' Raid. The Guardian we find aboard the Glykon is named Katabasis- a Greek word that denotes a descent into the underworld itself. Katabasis was lured by Calus' offers of luxury and became infatuated with the Darkness. He became subservient, willingly giving unto Calus swarms of Scorn and researching both the Egregore and the Darkness itself. Despite this, he remained loyal to the concept of Light, though he was still allied with Calus' Loyalists. Though, when Katabasis returned to the Glykon, he was front-and-center to a breakout of Scorn across the ship. The Locus of Communion was freed and before long, all but three warriors stood to fend it off: Katabasis, the Cabal Bahr'Toran, and the Psion Qinziq. Unfortunately, they were all killed, with Katabasis being brutalized by the Locus, Bahr'Toran being eviscerated, and Qinziq ignited in a shadowed flame. When Gilgamesh, Katabasis' Ghost, found a safe place aboard the Glykon to revive him, the Locus was still hunting them down. It knew Katabasis would return. They hid in the ship's storage compartments for days and searched for a way out, but Katabasis' morale was slowly sinking. When an unfateful day arrived after hours, if not days of Nightmare-fueled sleep, Katabasis was cornered by waves upon waves of Scorn, with the Locus commanding them to slaughter him. He was killed, and as Gilgamesh was designed to do, they revived him. But Gilgamesh was not the same after this. The Voice in the Darkness reaches all, including Ghosts, and Gilgamesh had listened for too long. They revived Katabasis again and again, watching him be torn to shreds with an indifferent glare. He was tortured countless times, feeding the Egregore beneath his feet, until Katabasis knew his Ghost was no longer there to say goodbye. He aimed his lever-action, the Dead Man's Tale, and shot through Gilgamesh's core, killing them and draining Katabasis of his Light. He accepted the release of death as the Locus destroyed his very being, and his body was dragged to the Glykon's bridge, suspended by countless sinew and stems of Egregore, growing fat from the anguish and sorrow deep within Katabasis' corpse, until the Guardians would one day put down the Locus of Communion and find his body, still being siphoned by the Egregore. The story in Presage is terrifying, the fact that the Voice in the Darkness can affect Ghosts but not their Guardians, the fact that the Loyalists aboard the Glykon brought about their own ruin, the fact that Katabasis made the decision to kill his only friend to free himself from suffering. Amazing storytelling by Bungie.

You guys must watch cutscenes of the Final shape

Oh yeah they introduced the H.E.L.M. this season. Its a massive ship in Earth orbit where all the seasonal activities find their hub for the year. Its split into 4 rooms and each one adopts a new theme for the season. One of the most recent, Season of the Deep, had a fish tank you could put fish in. Chosen's was a more traditional War Table cause it was the first time the HELM was used. I like how the uploader shot their recordings for this. They got various angles and stuff to make the talking more interesting. This season made me really pissed at Saladin. For someone who likes to criticize the Cabal for being ruthless warmongers, he very hypocritically acts like one himself. Peace wasnt something to be considered for him. Caiatl is one of my favorite characters cause of her willingness to adapt and respect for strength, whether its the Cabal's or ours. The exotic scout rifle acquired from the mission on the derelict ship is called Dead Man's Tale and its another weapon from the Tex Mechanica foundry that makes really ornate western themed weapons. DMT is no exception. Its a high caliber, lever action rifle easily fired from the hip. It looks absolutely beautiful and was a nightmare in PvP for a while. The story of the Glykon and of Calus experimenting with the Scorn and Crown of Sorrow is a setup for whats to come. Foreshadowing a voice in the dark. The Crown of Sorrow was a gift from Savathun to Calus. Calus, knowing it was a trick of some kind, didnt wear the crown himself. He gave it to a Cabal genetically engineered to wear it. Gahlran. Calus wished Gahlran was strong enough to use the crown and control his own Hive army but Savathun's tricks arent so easily unwoven. The Crown corrupted Gahlran and Calus called on us to kill him a while back. For Osiris to bring the Crown back to the city is risky and an odd call for him.

Also I should bring this up since I’ve never used lord saladins name cause everyone uses his nickname “salad bar” so I keep forgetting who you mean when you say his name lol

The only reason the character we didn't really do anything to Crow was because we couldn't shoot him. Let's be honest here, we couldn't shoot him

Crow KILLED Cade 6 Zavala’s squad mate his brother in a sense I’m baffled you forgot the most scaring death in all of destiny 2 but then again you both don’t play it daily to know about how there is literally a bust of cade right next to zavala to remember him so I shouldn’t be surprised
