Another read on igneous hammer’s lore is about the players and the Hakke cheating. It was released right after the trials had been restarted.

@@larryjohnston9204 yeah the Firebreak philosophy is the closest thing we have to the Sword Logic. The Crucible uses “Knives endlessly sharpening anew” and Shaxx was Saladin’s protégée. Saint-14’s Crusades are another example of a Firebreaker and, again, the Sword Logic. Xivu Arath will have an easy time with us. I wouldn’t be surprised if Saladin inadvertently summons Xivu Arath as the big closing event for the season before Witch Queen. I’d love to see Saladin lighting up his axe, only to see Soulfire instead of Solar light.

I wouldn't say Saladin is a practitioner of the Sword Logic tbh. He's just violent, because he's a warrior. That doesn't equal the Sword Logic. If he truly practiced the Sword Logic then we would see him slaughtering civilians in the streets for being too weak to defend themselves.

I really love the small detail that Saint, in all his Titan-ness, manages to find his way into Ikora's secret study and library, whom only the closest of closest of her friends know both of its existence and perhaps even whereabouts, by simply transmatting into it. This is why Saint is my favorite character in this game.

To be fair to Saint, homie was the Titan Vanguard before Zavala. Being in that position means you oversee *everything* going on in and around the City. So it's not surprising that Saint knows every nook and cranny within the City and it's walls. Wouldn't at all be shocked if Zavala knew, but just never wanted to enter as to not upset Ikora lmao

Please don't tell Osiris this......he's built a time machine once. He'll try again. May sound good, going to a time where the Darkness is no more, but there's going to be a LOT of problems that we would cause. Like, enough problems to fry a system of vex planets, even if they just considered it. Also, way less loot and no enemies to blow heads/helmets/mind fluid in mid region of body/any weak spot really off.

You mistake narrative writing from months ago for the season as creative laziness in managing PvP cheaters? Come now, effectively dealing with cheaters takes time. Part of the reason why we have to contend with Battleye now.

There's two different instances of her attacking someone after a match. What you're referring to is the first, which from what I'm interpreting from the Warlock chest armor perspective, is a really bad case of PTSD. It's the class item portion where it matters.

@@Rigel_6 That bit of lore was actually from the seasons of the worthy, when trials returned that season. It was actually about what I believe was Sola. Not 100% sure, but the warlock in the lore did seem as edgy as Sola. Also, here downfall did start around that season.

This lore really really stuck to me for some reason. It just feels so raw, so real. How we see it from every different perspective in different lore tabs- its wild to me. Heavy stuff. Thanks for covering this and making HQ content as always!

I just love how our guardians are essentially mace windu now. using the power of the dark side, but not yielding to its pull. using it for good.

As a Titan, I gave up on wielding Stasis. It just doesn’t mesh well with my playing style, so I quit using it about halfway through. Picked up my trusted Flaming Maul instead.

I might be wrong but I don't think the lore has ever tied us to the Crucible side of Destiny ? As of right now, we're pretty much one of the most (if not the most) powerful Guardian on the PvE side, but PvP-wise... we just hear about the performances of Saint-14, Shaxx, Ikora, Redrix, Josef, and some others, no ?

@@PLBiohazard The only time the Young Wolf has been mentioned going into the Crucible is in the Helm of Saint-14 lore tab. I think it would just be really funny if there was a lore tab talking about a fireteam going into the Crucible and shitting bricks upon seeing the Young Wolf on the enemy team.

We need Aunor as a future NPC in the game in a future season.

the things sola did in the trials match and the way she was talking when caught was frightening, its just like fallen jedi that become sith assassins.

I find it interesting that this lore almost ties directly with the communities reaction to stasis being in PvP, Bungie knew what the reactions to it would be and that might also be why they having changed it much

The editing for the darkness quotes is awesome, love it!

Loving this mini-series so far Byf, Destiny is at it’s best when it veers from the beaten track.

For some reason im just expecting our guardian to just do the impossible (again) and just combine the light and darkness into a new power

8:20 I don’t think she tortured them for not agreeing with her from what I can gather from the Sola’s Scar sword lore tab, like what sola did in that one trials game in the lore tab of the The Scholar scout rifle

I have a feeling Aunor will fall to the dark, her zealous devotion to the light is turning her darker, she is getting angry, exhausted, distrusting, all of this will lead her to the dark, she is going so towards the light that without realizing it she will wrap around and find herself far from it.

@@Zakharon to be completely fair, it's a lot more than just a simple disagreement.

I really want to see bungie make an expansion that makes you think you are doing the right thing, until you kill someone like osiris (maybe the darkness made you think he is an enemy like how uldren thought he saw his sister) and realize that the darkness has taken over you and made you a dark guardian without realizing (in a way, putting you in uldren's shoes) and then, making you try to fight the darkness inside to become "pure" again.

It says that Saint spat in disgust, but then later it says that the sun was reflecting off his helm. Conclusion: in a fit of rage, Saint spat inside his own helmet.

'Spat' in literary terms doesn't always mean the person actually did spit.

The lore and descriptions and length Bungie has been going to to build the story and world, especially in the season Forsaken launched and after is incredible to me

Still think you warlock with a book in his hand and or with lumina too as the plushy

I like the way that we are exploring the corruption of the dark powers, the ideals of the dualist like the drifter and Elsie but I would also like to see the extreme to which some guardians are willing to go in their belief in the light and how it’s not the power that corrupt but the extreme to which we decide to serve it

I'm really hoping that they make Aurnor a main character that we interact with sooner rather than later. We're the one who pioneered Guardians using Darkness. She should be coming after us.

Byf, you need to do more vids like these, try to find lore tabs that can fit together well as like mini lorebooks, say when the story is set, then narrate it, I'd love to add these in to my lore project to flesh them out a little more. Maybe even try to find lore for holiday events but group them based on that year they released, would be cool to add those stories from vendors celebrating during those tough times the Guardian were in. If you want I could message you on Discord if I find any of these stories collected by other people. There is a really good one abut the Vanguard and survivors who fled the City when the Red War kicked off. I'd love to flesh out the Red War a bit more.

There are also dark wielding chaotist. Like myself who didn't use light base subclass since beyond light

I honestly would love to see how anour’s appearance in the game will look like, i would love to know what she looks like, other lore fharacters have made their way into the actual game b4 and anour seems like an Intersting character to explore

My clan doesn't want to play Trials, so I have not had the chance to. But from what I am hearing from others, especially with the sense of absolute anger if you can't go flawless, everyone that went through this special Hell winds up like Aunor.

If Aunor needs a break, I'd gladly hunt down some corrupted guardians. I honestly think think would be a really cool mission.

Well Byf first I will say I love the work you do. onto my thoughts, while I'm not entirely caught up to this part of the lore like you a famous phrase comes to mind with how Aunor is acting right now. "He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you." Looking at it from one perspective it might not be that she's just tired. By the very logic and reasoning of that quote although she isn't tempted per se to wield darkness, its very possible that in her crusade to destroy it and in her recent trials and fights against it, that it could be taking root inside her. If so then instead of immediate temptation to use it it could spring up suddenly down the line or could be low key agitating her as we saw in her response to Ikora. If you or anyone reads this comment I'd be interested to know your thoughts on such theories as if it would prove true it would mean that temptation and curiosity aren't the only forces that lead to the darkness and its taint, it would show that those with good intentions are just as easily susceptible. Anyways, if anyone has opinions please feel free to chime in and discuss.

Holy cow this is getting good i mean the darkness is a truly powerful force that we can use to fight but it seems like it can come at a cost for those who maybe cant handle that power keep it contended and use it without it using us

Osiris seems to be sowing the seeds of dissension, especially with Saladin against Zavala. I suspect that more happened in that spell that was cast over him, when his ghost sacrificed herself to free him. Has he been taken over by Savathun and is acting as her agent among the guardians now??? Maybe Savathun's plan was to get his ghost to sacrifice herself, so that he would be left unprotected by his ghost from her real spell that would take him over. That would fit Savathun's modus operandi and would make for a wicked twist in the plot line.

It would be interesting to see in the future Aunor, and other light purists hunting down our guardian, the drifter, elsie and Eris, because we are the ones who start to spread stasis. It could be interesting to see a confrontation with Aunor, because I think she might be one of the greatest threat to our guardian

Trails of Osiris: similar to trials, but guardians have to complete a 34km mountain trail as quickly as possible. All powers that boost mobility are permitted. The top 10 guardians gain a special loot.
