Destin Florida Snorkeling Paradise!!

Snorkeling In Destin Florida you'll see Barracuda, Sea Turtles, Stingrays, Flounder, Blue Crabs and Seargent Majors and more! My second visit to Destin in as many weeks exploring once again the Norreigo Point Jetties and sea wall as well as the East Pass Jetty. My son-in-law Alex and I didn't think we would be lucky enough to see Barracuda and Sea Turtles again in Destin, but we did!

    TheToneman - Gulf Coast Snorkeling Amazing as usual. Hotter than I expected though. It was in the low 90s about all that week. And booked our May trip while we were there too 😎

    how are the currents in the water here? How would you say Destin compared to Panama City Beach snorkeling?

  • @thetoneman

    @thetoneman

    6 жыл бұрын

    Little Birdie Travel Destin had a stronger current to watch out for compared to the jetty at St Andrews in PCB. PCB has a more diverse and abundant sea life.

    Do you have to get over to the jetties by boat or is there a way to walk over there?

  • @thetoneman

    @thetoneman

    6 жыл бұрын

    SavedGasMan27 You can walk to the east jetty from O'Steen Public Beach Access off of Gulf Shore Rd. Norriego Point is at the end of Gulf Shore Rd. Just a short walk from there. 😃👍🐠🐡🐟📷👀

    Ocean Chan Thanks so much! Actually, the past several weeks have been unusually active with sea turtles and barracuda, at least for me. I have been to Destin over the past several years and these last two visits have been the only times I've seen sea turtles and barracuda (I know they are out there, just didn't see them on my visits). I have also noticed a lack of sea urchins and sea anemones in the past years, but saw a sea anemone on my last visit and was pleasantly surprised. St Andrews in PCB is rich in sea life and it's only one hour away so what gives? ;)

    That's really interesting. I know they might be common (turtles and barracuda) but I would love to see more of them because they are not common where I am. I have seen large schools of barracuda in Thailand, which was an amazing experience. its a bit odd with the lack of sea urchins. but then again too many is a sign something is wrong with the environment as well.

    My first Barracuda here on the Gulf Coast was in Panama City Beach last Summer, then these I saw in Destin the past few weeks. This last one was very large, but I could not get close as it drifted away.. Ha
