What an incredibly talented human being. This song gives me chills, that beat!

Can you imagine losing someone as amazing as Dessa? Remarkably, I can. No idea how, but somehow I once had a chance with someone as incredible as her, which is saying a lot. And of course, I screwed it up. Like Dessa, she later went on to have a career in pop culture, although in Hollywood, not in music. I'd imagine the antecedent of "you" in this song feels similar to me. Possibly worse, since while her first big movie had some similarities to our relationship, I know it wasn't actually written about me, that was just coincidence (someone else wrote it).
